Nice little place in the middle of town in Long Beach WA. Lots of flavors of ice cream as well as other frozen treats like floats, lemonade, teas. They also serve pizza. Didn't try it but there were lots of young local kids waiting for their pizza there. The draw for us was the elephant ears ($7). Dough stretched into a round shape, deep fried and dredged with sugar then topped with chocolate, strawberries, or other sweet toppings. Decadent! We opted for the bites which is basically the same but the dough is cut into smaller pieces and fried. They are sooo good! Light and airy- reminds me beignets. You need to try this! Looks to be a small family owned snack shop. We stood at the counter for a few minutes before being acknowledged. We ordered some elephant ear bites and a hand dipped corndog. As we waited we noticed a young girl wiping down things. When customers walked in she just kind of looked at them and kept on doing what she was doing. Hopefully she will be taught to acknowledge and or greet customers and let them know that someone will be with them shortly--as I did hear her respond to one customer that asked if she was allowed to take their order. The elephant ear bites were good. The corndog was okay. Other items like milkshakes were pretty expensive on the menu...but after going the grocery store here I can see why. Pizza was pretty good for hot and ready, 5 bucks a slice. Strawberry lemonade was amazing and the ice cream was delicious. Wish I had a place like this close to home. Too many things I wanted to try, no way I could get it done in one trip. Really wanted the elephant ear bites but opted for some strawberry cheesecake and cotton candy ice cream. When I last posted, things were chaotic in Long Beach. Now, a couple days after the 4th of July, they are open and we were the first ones in! This place has the most amazing nachos! We always have to have the elephant bites, but this time also tried the nachos. It did not disappoint! Me and my sister go here nearly everytime we busy Long Beach. It's a little shack with a few bar seats, they also have some picnic tables outside to eat at. Though I love this place there is a few flaws you should know about before visiting. For the food you have to wait outside because they bring it to a service window, so if it's a rainy day I would recommend going here. Also the service can be slow depending on the day and time. Yesterday when I was there around 3pm I waited around 20-30 minutes for my food. But in my opinion is totally worth it. The elephant ears are my fav, so is the lemon shake ups. We went in for an ice cream which was huge for the price :D Flavour was OK but as it was super warm outside, we enjoyed quite well. We also have an elephant ear. Be sure to ask for the chocolate and strawberry syrup when paying for it first as it is packaged differently than the regular sugary one. It comes with a box-plate and syrups because is huge and super tasty!!! My God, I found it perfect! But if you wait, it will get hard. So try it warm :) It took a while to get the ear prepared. You can have a sit inside or in the bench outside. We didn't get inside because our dog. They are serious but nice :) Try to bring change to help. God bless the poor clerk behind the counter who had to take an order from my senior parents for elephant ear bites before I placed my own. She was so kind and patient and explained what they were and the topping options to them several times as they couldn't quite wrap their heads around all the possibilities. Extra points for being so patient with us... I ordered mine drizzled with powdered sugar, and topped with strawberries/strawberry sauce and chocolate syrup and I think this is my best elephant ear experience thus far. Over-frying can quickly ruin one of these doughy delicacies but it was absolutely perfect and the toppings were such a killer combination of flavors that I felt my synapses firing at each bite. Elephant ears! If you've never had an elephant ear than you must try one, and you need to get it from Sweet Phees! My husband has a weakness for these and he has gotten me hooked on them too. This is the best one we've had in years! We saw the sign in the window and ran in to order. Our yummy tasty treat came out in about 5 minutes and was fresh, buttery and covered in cinnamon sugar. They get their name from the size of them and this was about 20" probably. Nice and big. It came in a cute bag to cut down on some of the mess of the cinnamon sugar but make sure to grab extra napkins. It was sooooooo good! Anytime we're back in Long Beach we will stop in for sure. They had other treats like ice cream here but we were so focused on the elephant ears that I didn't really pay attention :) read more

We stopped by this place for lunch while visiting Long Beach and LOVED it. We got corn dogs, pepperoni pizza slices, ice cream, lemonade and a watermelon fizz. The hand-dipped corn dogs were even better than the ones at the county fair! The actual meat in them was more like a kielbasa than a normal hot dog. The ice cream was generously scooped and my kids loved it. The pizza was a good size but a little on the spicy side. The lemonades were huge, refreshing and delicious. The staff was efficient and friendly. Also, the prices were more reasonable than usual in such a tourist-driven town. I can't wait to visit again and maybe get some ribbon fries, an elephant ear or a personal Hawaiian pizza. read more

Pizzas were good, ribbon fries were a fun treat and ice cream was good too. My daughter chose bubble gum which tasted like dentist bubble gum flavoring to me but she loved it haha.. the fun thing is they put in little bubble gum pieces into the ice cream but my daughter kept wanting to chew the gum over eating her ice cream. My other daughter chose strawberry which actually tasted amazing to me. Real strawberries and not so sweet. I got the essprssso almond which needed a stronger coffee taste in my opinion. I have never had such a horrible ice cream, lacked flavor, and over priced, we paid $25 for 3 nasty ice creams, is a No for me! I had to throw mine to the garbage. My family was down for the labor day holiday visiting me here at the beach and we wanted to get some elephant ears so we walked in, stood in line for a bit and my nieces ordered, then I ordered and I didn't feel like a lot of sugar so I asked the gal that we were ordering from if I could get them to make me a Garlic and Parmesan elephant ear, realizing they had garlic and parmesan bread sticks and fries, so wouldn't be too complicated . She literally looked at me snarky and said 'No'! I asked her why not and she said ' Because if I do it for you, then I would have to do it for everyone'. I was taken a back because 1, you never say that to a customer. Then I asked her if I could get a cherry Italian soda with a scoop of ice cream and I would pay extra for the ice cream and again, she told me 'No'! At this point there were people waiting behind me and I was embarrassed that my family seen how unpleasant the service was, so I hurriedly ordered the skinny little garlic and parm bread strips ( call it that because it was served in a big rectangular box and they were very skinny strips and just a few, not worth the price of $16.00,with the soda) they were good though, paid with Debit and even tipped $1.00 for her rude service, finished ordering and went and sat outside. Got our order through the window and my nieces mentioned the comments the register gal (Tresha) made to me about everything. The bread strips were alright and the Italian soda was literally carbonated water with coloring in it. It was the worse Italian soda I ever had. Threw it in garbage. I will never eat at Sweet Phees or let my family eat there again. Very shocked that I was mistreated like that and I am a local. We get pizza two+ times per week and if we're back in Long Beach, this'll definitely be the place we pick up a pizza from for dinner. Really liked it.
