Oh, what great pizza we had at Serious Pizza Plus! We were trying to figure out what to get and decided to get the lunch special in which was a 8" pizza and a salad. I got the Vegetarian Pizza while Steve got the Goat Cheese pizza. We had a nice salad that tasted great as it was very fresh tasting and the dressing that went along with it made it all the better. My pizza was so good! Very, very fresh and the crust was excellent! All of the toppings were flavorful and with a dash of red pepper flakes that made the pizza all the more alluring. On our first attempt at ordering, we were informed that they were out of several items. This was a Saturday, in the middle of a holiday weekend. Fine. Poor planning on their part, but no big deal. We regrouped and tried a second time with more success, a hawaiian, a chicken pesto, and a bbq chicken. Our group chose a table on the patio, where we were promptly scolded for raising an umbrella without asking. The server was curt and obviously tired of being there. Okay. We rolled with it. The patio was nice. Service was slow, and they ruined the one of our pizzas. They had to remake it, so that one took an extra long time. Accidents happen. We waited patiently. Finally, our food arrived. The pizzas were $35 each and we love thin crist, but WOW. The toppings were scarce, very stingy, and the chicken was old and dry. So dry it had the texture of jerky, and sadly, it was on two of our pizzas. It was BAD. Part of our bbq chicken pizza was literally naked without a thing on it, not even sauce. I know that with this my last 2 pizza reviews are 5s from someone who normally thinks pizza is meh. Alright but not special. Serious pizza is seriously special. I ordered to go for me and my daughter after a day at the beach so not a review of the dining. The pie however was nearly perfect. Sudo NY style with a sauce that has the sweetness of the tomatoes but not sugary at all. Best thing they do 1/2 style so can't narrow it down to one no problem. We did the Skookum with their homemade chicken-pork sausage and basil. Could have used a little more sausage but still delicious through and through. The other half was the truffle Bianco- seriously pecorino Romano, garlic and truffles what else do you need to know. Actually 2 more things to know (1) This place is popular and they time it on a schedule so call or go in early to order. (2) If taking out take them up on their suggestion of half baking. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes which was fine with us as we were able to check our emails, etc. We ordered 1/2 Boreas and 1/2 meat lovers. It tasted so fresh and delicious. The quality of the pizza is so worth the cost. Why eat junk? The crust was thin but not floppy, excellently cooked. Be sure to wear a coat, the place is a little cold. So I have searched all over our area for good pizza. I'm italian from back east, and let me tell you, I know pizza. I came into this establishment with low expectations, mainly because I've been disappointed every time I've ordered pizza around here. I ordered one large pepperoni pizza on a day they were having a special. The pizza itself is thin, and to my great shock, it was actually very good. I dare to say it's the best I've had on the coast so far! The sauce was savory, the toppings were real, and overall, it was less greasy than what I'd normally find. Places like Fultanos are good, but this place reminded me of what pizza is like on the East Coast. It was somewhat expensive for the size at hand, but I suspect that's because of high-quality ingredients. I'll definitely be back. read more

We were visiting Long Beach on our vacation and our concierge recommended Serious pizza. He said if we were willing to drive down to Ilwaco we would not be disappointed, and we werent. It was a Sunday evening and we arrived around 5:30pm (note: they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays). The place is rather small, nothing "special" about the look or the interior. There were two groups already eating and another waiting to order. Signs were up saying to seat ourselves and to come order when we were ready. So we did. We reviewed the menu and actually had a difficult time choosing. There were several that were appealing to us. Several that were simple, several that were adventurous. When we where to place our order were were reminded there were only two sizes: 9" and 15". We were also informed the 15" pizzas theybare more than happy to customize. We decided on the meat lovers, with half no mushrooms (cuz mushrooms are icky) and an appetizer of mozzarella sticks. We each also got an adult beverage. $46 not counting tax. We knew in advance the wait would be a bit, as this was wood fired pizza. We waited about 13 min for our mozzarella sticks with the pizza arriving approximately 10 min later. The mozzarella sticks were homemade, but needed a bit more seasoning on the breading. However the homemade marinara was delicious. The pizza was a thinner crust, which we loved and served with fresh parm on top. The sauce was divine. The meat was clearly high quality and not greasy as the pizza itself wasn't. The flavors were on point a.d it left us wanting more, even though we were full and only ate half of the pizza. It was clear everything at Serious Pizza is fresh and homemade. You're clearly not getting anything from a package. It was also clear the owner and his wife were running the place that night. He is a delight. He knew were were not locals and he kept giving us tips as to where the speed traps were and where the least expensive gas was. Serious was really seriously good pizza. Since we're at the beginning of our vacation I'm pretty confident we'll be going back. read more

Great Za! I'm sometimes amazed at the quality of the restaurants out on the Long Beach peninsula. I hate to admit it, but I wasn't expecting a pizzeria of this quality to be out on the WA coast. Serious Pizza makes an incredible product, using a wood-fired oven. The crust is always perfect, and the individual ingredients are superior. They even import their flour - Caputo Tipo 00 white flour - from Italy! You simply won't find a better pizza on the peninsula. We almost always get the Meat Lover's pizza, with tomato sauce, mozzarella, Canadian bacon, sausage, pepperoni, olives, onion, and fresh mushrooms. Yes, fresh mushrooms! Not canned mushrooms, like you're going to find on most of the other pizzas in and around Long Beach. Is the pizza expensive? If you compare it to Pizza Hut or Domino's, possibly. But the quality of ingredients, crust and taste aren't even in the same ball park as those chain pizza places. More importantly, those options aren't available on the peninsula. So, is the pizza expensive? If you compare it to the other pizza options in and around Long Beach, absolutely not! Go to Serious Pizza in Ilwaco and enjoy a really high-quality pizza.
