Mr. Picky & I enjoyed dining outside with our two dogs. It was a beautiful sunny early evening for our choices of dinner. Great flavors all around so we will definitely put The Cove on our list to return. Very much appreciated them having a dog menu and being dog friendly.

Seared ahi tuna covered in sesame was very fresh, and the side salad was remarkably colorful and had a genuine ginger soy dressing. The "crème caramel" cheesecake was a surprisingly good blend of flavors. Nice ambience with tall windows facing the golf course, and a pescaterian theme with fish and lobsters on the wall.

Dog friendly with a Puppy Menu, great tasting food, and an attentive staff! Couldn't ask for more.

Do you still have fish tacos on Tuesdays?

We are coming up this weekend and are looking for a place that has outdoor seating that allows dogs. Does this establishment allow dogs outside? Thank you

Hi Randi! Yes, The Cove Restaurant allows dogs on our heated patio. We even have a puppy menu so your pup can enjoy their meal while you enjoy yours! See you at The Cove! Doug B. (owner)

We stayed in a hotel room this visit but as I said, we fell in love with this hotel and have already made reservations for memorial day weekend in one of the newly remodeled condos. The grounds are far enough from the road that the noise of traffic is nonexistent. Only the sounds of relaxation and the ocean in the background. There is plenty of parking. A Pickle Ball Court. A Dog Area with Bags. Even a restaurant called "Dark Harbour." I love a good pirate bar! With free breakfast and a restaurant on site, your set up for a relaxing time. Usually "breakfast" is yogurt and cereal I don't like. They had that here as well BUT they also have a lot of breakfast choices. My favorite was sausage and gravy over fresh biscuits with sausage links on the side. There was cheese omelet, pastries, bagels, cereal, coffee, tea, juices and some other things. Really nice set up serving from 6 - 9:30am. My Mother in law can get up and get breakfast without having to wait on us. We had a nice time at breakfast. We even met another family and their son Sam. There is a nice grass area in the back. Seating areas, Gas BBQ's, Corn Hole games and a nice paved walking trai. There are beach bikes the hotel let's guests use and nearby you can rent electric bikes. The ocean is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. We walked down to the beach and stood in awe of the vast sands and waves gently rolling in. Downtown Long Beach is within a few miles of the hotel so there is plenty to do or you can do my favorite vacation idea... "Nothing." Not really nothing but sitting on the deck or taking naps with the sun on my face is my idea of vacation.

The property feels like a retreat with a lovely atmosphere that feels a world apart from Long Beach despite being so close in proximity to town. We didn't have time to make full use of the pool, sauna, or pickleball courts - but these amenities would be perfect for a rainy day at the coast and when we come back we'll make more time in our schedule to use them. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and staff was very pleasant. They let me borrow a lighter for a birthday cake which was much appreciated! The walk to the beach is very scenic and beautiful in itself. Highly recommend this resort!

Prior to this visit, the rooms were fairly basic, but very adequate. Today, we arrived to find a beautifully updated room, that feels much bigger and much cleaner than they previously were. We have new appliances, new countertop and backsplash, new floors, a larger couch, a huge king bed, a walk-in shower with a new vanity, and everything is just stunning. Very well done! From the bottom units, you have a small deck with a bench, and upper units have a balcony. All rooms overlook the dunes, and the higher ones can catch you a glimpse of the ocean. You spend the evening listening to the roar of the waves. It's so relaxing. In the main office area, you'll find a recreation room, vending machines, and espresso stand with good coffee, and a huge saline pool that's in a solarium type of building. Their fitness center is small but it's something. They love dogs, and it shows. You'll get a welcome pack for your mutt, and there's a lighthouse themed dog house in the parking lot that you can take pictures of your dog with. There's two TVs - you can stream from your device in the bedroom, or watch cable in the living room. You'll have a gas fireplace, a lounge chair, a couch that folds out into a bed with a nice, squishy mattress, and a two person dining table. The staff here have been here a long time, and it's always nice to see a familiar face when we arrive. Shout out to Kevin! Always friendly and helpful. It's about a five minute drive to downtown Long Beach, where you'll find a bakery, an arcade, and lots of shops and restaurants. Don't forget you can even drive on the beach! You'll love it here.

We own a house in Long Beach, and during the time we lived there full-time, this was our go-to spot for anniversaries and my husband's birthdays. It exudes that cozy, historic Seaview charm that invites you to relax and linger...warm, intimate, and full of character without being over the top. A true small-town and now not so hidden gem. My husband is a fan of their Old Fashioneds, particularly those with a smoked maple twist, and he often gravitates back to the slow-braised pork. Their current Southern Comfort Pork dish is just his style: slow-braised pork shoulder served over brown sugar yam mash with jalapeño creamed corn, green onion, and maple-bacon salsa. That's comfort food crafted with real culinary skill. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I truly appreciate how The Depot makes an effort to accommodate vegetarian and vegan diners in a way that feels genuine rather than forced. Last winter, I was thrilled to discover the ginger-coconut soba noodles, they were flavorful, satisfying, and perfectly balanced. Their current mika soba noodles with garlic-ginger coconut cream, vegetables, toasted cashews, and cilantro are exactly the kind of dish I'm thankful to find on a Peninsula menu. I also have fond memories of Burger Wednesdays from our time on the Peninsula. It's incredible how satisfying a customized portobello burger can be when a kitchen understands texture and seasoning especially in a place where plant-based options can still be scarce. The food is fantastic, but the service deserves a special mention. While Peninsula restaurants are known for their good service, The Depot's service is exceptional: polished, friendly, warm, and just the right amount of attentive. Although we now reside in California, we plan to make another reservation when we return to the Long Beach Peninsula in July. I'm already looking forward to their summer menu.
