I chose a seafood pizza The basket combos did look good fish and chips is what I gently try to when I know the place has them and from what I read, they are good . The seafood pizza arrived hot. We also got some onion rings for appetizers. We both got Mac and Jack's for beer drinks. Which I do enjoy but afterwards to pair with pizza, I would've gone with blue moon The pizza was so good. Five star service as the bartender/waitress was so kind. I wanted the club sandwich and they asked if substituting for sourdough would be OK. I said yes because sourdough is the best. It was a very large portion and I definitely needed to take most of it to go. This place was actually recommended to me by a friend. The booths really need replacing or some form of TLC. It went up a star. I tend to only go here when it's clamming season and really busy. I find it easier to order from the bar (faster). The servers do not always look happy to be there but I try to win them over by being super kind. Sometimes I win. Overall, it's a dive bar and not terrible. As mentioned before, it is a very convenient location. I will continue coming and maybe even try the food next time. Pretty great place. To be fair I have only walked in and got pizza. But I've done this probably 20 times. Pizza is great, the best I've had in the area. We walked in thinking this looked like a below average dive bar where we could have a couple of drinks and chill for the evening. Nothing interesting in terms of atmosphere, but a serviceable beer menu and a basic bar selection. We sat down at a table - it still had the dishes from the prior occupants, but we figured they would be cleared soon (they never were). But it was the bartender wearing a t-shirt featuring a far right "influencer" and peddler of hate that made us feel unwelcome and made us decide to find somewhere else after one drink. I guess if you're a white, straight guy who likes your watered down cocktails with an extra shot of bigotry, this may be your thing. The vibe was pretty good on the Saturday night we were there. Watching the pool players was fun. On Sunday evening when we were again there, the blond, lady bartender seemed to ignore me, it wasn't busy at that and I was standing right in front of her. Stopped in for dinner while in town for the night. The bar was pretty packed due to both the Ducks and Cougars being on TV. Staff were friendly but you had to go up to the bar which is fine. Drinks were good and strong. The pizza was good but it was a little under cooked. They are very strict about IDs which is a good thing, but make sure all your people go up to the bar if ordering drinks. To all the Cougs and Ducks in the bar... GO DAWGS! read more

Was there this Memorial Day weekend. Noticed a lot of tables with half empty beers and food plates which means they weren't being cleaned up. They must have changed ordering from tables cause lots of people sat down and walked out after 10 - 15 minutes of waiting Lines we're somewhat long but both bartenders had no sense of urgency When a guy up at the bar asked to get a drink, she said I have to serve people in line first, so the guy got up from his seat and got in line. We go there usually a few times a year and always get the same pizza. This time it was made totally different and way over cooked. I've been coming to Long Beach off and on for a decade. The service before after and during Covid has fluctuated between crackhead tweekers and coherent folks. Right now the service seems sober, at least up to 6pm last night. The pizza is something else... i feel like after Covid, they just decided not to finish cooking the food anymore. Horrible. This is a very cute dive type bar. Sorta "cheers" like, where everybody knows your name. The staff wasn't the friednlyess but they did ok. The menu is small we got the seafood pizza and oh my god it was amazing. However when the bill came the large pizza was 40.00$. The menu is deceiving with pizza price. Listed the price of a small and medium all squished together and the large is right next to the medium price so we thought it was 28.00$ until the bill came. Techinically on the menu the large pizza price is not even listed, so they can literally charge whatever they want. SUPER SCAMY if you ask me. Went here a few weeks ago and ordered food to go on our way out. They only said it would be ready in 20 mins but failed to mention to come back and check on the food. Bartender was a jerk about it and doesn't know how to speak to women. Look I've worked hospitality for 15 years, not hard to explain how things work, and if someone asks about their food say "it's probably ready by now, let me check for you when I can." Literally less of a hassle versus gas lighting a woman and being a sarcastic jerk about it. The other complaints about service are fair. It took forever for anyone to acknowledge us when it was not that packed. We finally ordered a burger and chicken strips. I was parched by the time the beer arrived I almost went and poured it myself. The food arrived and it did not look appetizing. However it was pretty tasty. Our server was very nice in the long run. We're from Oregon and went to this bar for a birthday where my friend--who is 24--was denied service for having a valid vertical ID. The bartender didn't mention any policy until after my friend pulled it out, then suddenly said they don't accept vertical IDs. Maybe that's their rule, but it wasn't posted or clearly communicated. What felt off is that my friend was the only non-white person with a vertical ID, and also the only one turned away--everyone else got in without issue. On top of that, the bartender was aggressive and rude before even seeing the ID. It made the whole experience uncomfortable and disappointing. We won't be going back. read more

On our way home along the coast we stopped for a burger in Long Beach. We like the Long Beach Tavern. It's an oasis of local-ness in a town jammed with tourists. I always get the double LBT burger with fries. Mrs Billy D rocked the Fish 'n Chips with onion rings. Get this.. there were FOUR very generous pieces of cod and those onion rings were very good.
