Sad... stopped in to enjoy a hot dog special: bacon sausage with onions and cheese on a buttered brioche bun (and a side of fries). What did I get? Some sort of sausage on a slightly grilled bun and a side of Fritos. The server was kind and offered to get it made correctly. After 25 min I finally went up to the counter to get my refund (my friend had finished her meal and I wasn't willing to wait any longer); I asked about my corrected order. They remade it and tried to hand it to me - and offered no apology for messing up my order. I happily accepted the refund. I wonder if the bacon sausage would've been tasty? The place is set on the main road not to far from the free museum. There is plenty of room for dine in and the staff is friendly. You order up front as you enter and can choose inside or out. This place like some others have a sea type theme and decor around the inside. The food was really hot when I got it and tasty too. I got the jalapeño cheese burger with the fixings , while my friend got the fish and chips I also got the an order of the onion rings which came straight from the fryer. Another good one for me. The place looks nice. But the rest of my experience was not good. When I placed my order the kid at the register didn't seem to pay attention. I went outside twice to show him I wanted the smoked bacon sausage dog and was given a standard hot dog you would get from Costco for $1.50. The lady that seemed to be the manager seem like a stickler for things and told other guests that there was no outside drinks. When I finally was able to get what I wanted to order she told me it was going to be $3.00 more. When I did the calculations it looks like I was over charged. The fries were dried out like they were a day old, and the burger tasted like warmed-up cafeteria food. I couldn't park on Main Street, but it was nearby. For lunch, we chose Hungry H Grille. The interior was like an old-fashioned American restaurant. After looking at the menu, we ordered fish & chips and breadball of clam chowder. You can't get free water, but the water bottle is 23 cents, so don't worry. When you order, you will be asked if you want to eat outside or inside the store. Two women in the store bring food, but it takes quite a while. Fish & Chips was delicious because it was freshly fried and hot. There were plenty of clam chowder bread balls, so it was just right for two people to share. I never leave reviews about restaurants. This was a must. I was at the Loyalty days Parade today. I walked in and some guy, I believe to be the owner. Confronts me aggressively and says I can't bring my bottle of water in the restaurant. It was 80 degrees and everyone had a bottle of water. I asked if I can order to go and I was told it was not up for a debate. He wouldn't even let me order food for my kids to go. I have never been kicked out of a restaurant over a half empty water bottle. I normally drop like $100 bucks on food. This place is a joke. It was empty when I walked in. My wife and young daughter dined at this establishment today. My wife has a service dog. My daughter needed to use the restroom. The owner, Dennis Roberts, denied entry to my wife. He claimed my wife's service animal was not allowed and he denied her even though she provided a legally accepted response for the service the dog provides. Not only are there federal laws against this, but RCW as well. The event left my daughter so shaken that she cried. When called to discuss the event, Mr. Robert's hung up the phone. read more

I would give this zero stars if I could!! We attended the Loyalty Days parade today. Afterwards, my two boys, my fiance, and myself were ready for a late lunch. On the way back to our car, parade bag in tow (which had water bottles in it from the parade), we stopped by Hungry Harbor. Immediately upon entering the establishment, an extremely rude worker (owner?) told us we couldn't bring our waters in. Dumbfounded, I asked a valid question: "Can we order it to go and eat it elsewhere? We don't want to throw away our waters we paid for." His response was, "this isn't a debate or Deal Or No Deal." So we left. We would have bought four meals plus four sodas, so he lost out on $80+ worth of business because he would't allow us to bring our half-empty water bottles into the restaurant. We have never been treated like that in any restaurant in Washington, Oregon, or elsewhere. He gave no explanation as to why. He wasn't nice about it. He was extremely rude and it was very uncalled for. We were dressed appropriately, and we weren't dirty or smelly or anything, but he sure treated us like trash!! Now I have to explain to my two boys why we weren't allowed to eat there, but the people with that is I don't know the reason! I've settled on explaining it to them like this: some people are just horrible people who project their unhappiness and bitterness onto other people during everyday exchanges that should be nothing but respectful, polite, and friendly. I think it's pretty obvious that we will never eat there again, but I am taking it a step further and making sure I inform as many people as possible of this man's hatred for families who simply want to buy food from this place. Fun challenge for anyone up for it: take a whole case of water with you next time you go here, and watch this little psycho of a man go insane and treat you like absolute garbage. Whoever you are and whatever your name is, you're a horrible human. You just showed my boys the ugliness that exists in the world that I try so hard to shield them from. They walked away feeling pretty proud that, at 14 and 10, they are more mature, kind, and respectful than an old and very grumpy businessman. Time to retire maybe?? Here's a suggestion: if there is actually a legitimate reason why paying customers need to throw away their water bottles before entering your restaurant, why don't you lead with that reason?? I've been to Long Beach many times over the last 15+ years. In general, I've had fond memories of this place, but things were not as great on our last trip. We ordered a Seafood Platter, Cheeseburger and fries, chowder, and shakes. The Burger and Fries were fine. Shakes were great. The Seafood platter was mixed. The Fish was only OK. Kind of salty. The taste was OK. The Shrimp were great. Clam strips were very good. Now the Oysters in the platter. They had an awful sour taste. It did not taste right. I was expecting to have an upset stomach later, but decided to stop eating them. The dining inside half the seating is blocked off. And they have a sign that says no public bathrooms. We grabbed one of the two person tables out on the sidewalk, great place to sit on a sunny day! We tried the Halibut fish and chips, it came with dried cranberry studded coleslaw, YUM!!!! The fish and fried were hot and perfectly cooked. They were generous with the tartar sauce and lemon slices. Water was only $,25 a bottle!!! We always stop in here when visiting Long Beach. It's easy and reasonably priced. The employees are also super friendly. The best part about it is that they will sub a veggie burger in the kids meal. It seems like this would be pretty standard at any place, but it really isn't. My 7-year-old is a vegetarian and can't ever get a kids meal at a burger place. Thanks for doing this! Such a great little stop! Employees were friendly and helpful amidst the current COVID restrictions. We ordered inside and waited outside for our order. Prices were appropriate for the freshness of our orders and the amount of food provided. We ordered 3 bacon cheddar burgers and fries and one German hotdog with fries. To be packaged up in a plastic bag in styrofoam boxes our food was super hot and actually lasted. The burgers were made to order and full of flavor. Fries were under-seasoned but crisp and hot. The hot dog came naked with all the topping in small cups to dress it. The casing was crisp and actually grilled. My only bugaboos with our experience is the employees lack of attentiveness. They were carrying on conversations with coworkers while we were mid-order and laughing about their errors and how they always mess up certain things. We ordered 3 cups of ranch, which are 25¢ each, and instead we received ketchup, which I'm allergic to. Just irritating for little things. Before I go any further, the signs indicating "No outside food or drink" allowed inside... is no joke! The gentleman behind the cashier register was quick to let my girls know that they had to leave the restaurant with their ice creams. So, the girls respected their policy and went outside while I made the order. My friend decided to order the curly fries and a cup ($4.99) of clam chowder. I ordered the ($5.99-bowl-ish) size. We went outside to try the chowder, and both my daughter's reaction and mine were in sync. It was good, but definitely not the best we've had. Now my buddy, he was given a bowl container instead of the smaller size by mistake, but to his surprise... he didn't mind it! He actually likes clam chowder! So... in a way you could say... he was a chowda virgin going in, and a chowda man coming out So... with that said... my daughter and I enjoyed it (even though it didn't seem like a homemade from scratch chowder), my chowder virgin friend enjoyed it... so all in all... pretty good experience. My partner and I decided to escape the Portland Oregon heat and experience Long Beach Washington. We had two dogs with us , one in a carrier , and the other in a carrier backpack.
