All was well and good with people coming and going. I liked the mozzarella sticks and halibut breading. Not too heavy. My friend enjoyed her wrap. Here is the weird part. You order your meal at the bar first and then find a place to sit. A lady drops off the food and berates us for not saying the number of the table we were sitting at when we ordered. There is no number anywhere. No number on the table, on the barrel, on the floor, on the ceiling, on the window, on our foreheads, nothing. Heard the same thing happen to another person. It was all very odd. But, would come again because food and ambience was good. Great service, great decor, excellent food, and the red head bar tender was amazing! We came in one day for a couple drinks, had an amazing time chatting it up with the bar tender, and saw food being served that looked delicious! So we made sure to come back by the next day for a late lunch with friends. The food did not disappoint! It was the best thing all of us ate out the entire weekend we were in Long View! It was absolutely amazing! Plus we noticed the second day we were there, it looked like they had a few board games available to play, a stack of children's books available for kids to read, and really cute hand made bracelets for sale. She made us by bottle water because the water was gross and would not serve to their customers. Although I wonder what water they cook with, make ice with, mix your drinks with- if they do not use any public water. Food was tasty, but cold. I ordered the crab melts I ate them as soon as they came out and they were barely warm. Didn't get a receipt but our bill was 98 dollars we ordered two kids meals- $5-6 each. The melts were $20. Fish and chips were under $20. And bowl of chowder $8. Two bottles waters $2. Guess a beer and a drink was 30 dollars because the bill didn't add up quite right. After our second trip to World's End Public House on Saturday, Sept. 14, I gotta say it's a solid four stars! I had an excellent BLT! It was huge, and all the ingredients were fresh. My wife had a side salad, and she really enjoyed it as well. We shared an order of jalapeño poppers, which is what we went in for. Tasty! I enjoyed a Boom Shokolade stout, brewed with coconut and chocolate. The only downside is probably staffing. There was a skeleton at the bar, and it's appropriate since it seems like they're running a skeleton crew. Another pair of hands on deck would probably smooth out a few of the service wrinkles other Yelpers have complained about. read more

We visited on a very busy Kite Festival weekend, but service was great! After we were seated, about 8 more tables came in at once and the two servers quickly rallied. Beer menu was pretty varied; loved that the food menu had non-fried fish options. Kid options were broad enough and kids' pirate books were on hand for entertainment. Food was totally fine. Nothing we ate was stellar. Fry portions were minuscule, kids' macaroni clearly came from a box, no dressing on the halibut sandwich (ketchup, mustard, and malt vinegar at the table.) Overall, felt the pirate theme was excessive, the menu needs help with explanations (why name a meal something pirate-themed, only to have to explain it completely underneath? What an awkward lunch, I wish I could take it back. We get seated right away, but soon we're surrounded by people coming up to the bar along for their order. There was a middle aged red hair lady who started arguing a bit and the family walked out. Then the guy at the bar told about person he understood because he had been waiting even longer because they gave his food to the wrong people. The red hair lady then said "I told them 30 more minutes and that was at 12:50" (it was 1:35 now). She then kept taking it hey frustration on the two wait staff (who were wonderful btw), publicly getting after them, telling them they needed to do better with water when people sit downall while in the middle of dealing with a table of other people. We then had the joy of listening to her snotty remarks to the cooks, talking about how confusing it is when it gets busy, or shouting things at them like "I can't help it! I can't help it!" We got our food. Mine was okay. I got the chicken sandwich, that turned it to be too chicken strips that covered 2/3 of the bun. The fries weren't really fresh, room temperature at best. But I have had worse. If you want drama, come in here. If you want a fun lunch that is worth the $12 for a sandwich, go elsewhere. read more

If I could give them less than one star, I would! I walk in, and everything was going great, then tragedy struck. First, the computer was broken, which I totally understand. When they fixed it, the lady was absolutely rude to my friends and me; when I asked how many mozzarella sticks come in the basket, she said, "I really don't know you'll find out when you get it." Attended the Grand Opening and enjoyed it. We are fans of the pirate theme. I had the cod fish and chips, which had a light crispy batter and the cod was flavorful. I loved the coleslaw which is saying something because i normally do not like it. The coleslaw was fresh with light dressing and dried cranberries. Not soggy at all. I was looking forward to coming here, and I am happy to say that it did not disappoint. Like pretty much all of long beach its Pepsi products only. Fortunately no one really comes here for the soda, the beers on tap are numerous and tasty! There were a couple of large-ish groups but our food still came in a reasonable amount of time (10-15) and was delicious! I highly recommend the scallywag, and I hear good things about the quartermaster and first mate. Service was good, refills at half glass which is always appreciated. The thing, other than the beer, that really stole the show is the decor. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the pirate theme. It's kitschy but very cute. Dear Reader, My companion expressed her interest in dining out one week ago, and I had wanted to try the World's End Public House despite what are marked downgrades in food offerings in recent months since its reopening. Not knowing what its current offerings might be, I conducted a Bing search for its menu and clicked a link for its website, i.e., https://www.facebook.com/tharsheblows/. No menu was available, so I left a message to this effect. The dry wit reply was that we would just have to come in, so I indicated we would arrive there in an hour. My companion and I like a sizable sampling of the many craft beers offered by a place like this, but I didn't like that my companion was required to walk to the bar, pay for each round repeatedly and not be permitted to open a tab with her credit card, and not receive a receipt because the place had run out of paper. Paradoxically, the beer and food were actually brought to our table by the unmasked server, Brenda Barnhouse. We began with fried calamari of fair quality, then she ordered a seared ahi equivalent, I enjoyed a very flavorful grilled albacore sandwich, and we took our dessert home with us. We had six beers each, and miraculously, our server permitted us to leave open a tab for the last few rounds. Unfortunately, I left my sunglasses there since we had walked there at dusk, it was dark when we left, and I had left them hanging on a rack on the wall behind me since we had a rather small table. What follows is the actual message string between me and whom I presume is the unnamed owner, Bryan Carr: "Thank you for hosting my companion and me last night. My albacore sandwich was tasty! Unfortunately, I left my Serengeti sunglasses hanging on a wire rack on the wall behind my seat. Please respond on how soon I may arrange with you for their recovery. Thank you. You are welcome and I did find your glasses I have them on the counter for you. I am running errands right now but I can let you know when I'm back at the restaurant later this afternoon or tomorrow. I will keep them safe. Thank you, and I look forward to your next message. My phone number is (360) 232-4059. It is now Thursday the 17th. Please let me retrieve my glasses from the World's End Public House. Thank you. As you know we are closed Monday through Thursday. We have other jobs and we both work very hard. I had explained I have your glasses safe and would try my best to meet during our closed days however that did not work out because again, we work non stop even though the pub is closed. There are many tasks at hand to work around besides our other job obligations. I thought I showed concern for you and that I was taking good care of your glasses and Well, we havn't had any sun for the need so I figured I would get your patience and understanding. I am sorry for the delay. I will be here briefly doing some chores and waiting for deliveries. If you can catch me, that's great. If not we will be open at noon tomorrow. Thank you again for you patience and understanding You are very fortunate to not REQUIRE quality sunglasses as I do. I am very dependent upon them, and like you, my plans for the week didn't "work out" while I eagerly awaited word from you when I could recover them. I'll be at the restaurant at noon tomorrow. I guess then you would think you would keep better track of them then. Please we do not message us further on this matter." So I waited from early Monday afternoon until early Friday afternoon before I could retrieve my sunglasses. I'm aware that Bryan may have several irons in the fire, but I sincerely indicated to him that retrieving my property was very important to me, that I was awaiting his making them available and I provided my telephone number for that purpose. What he did do was not keep his word on Monday that he "can let you know when I'm back at the restaurant later this afternoon or tomorrow." In the absence of an update, I wrote to him on Thursday to request that I be permitted to retrieve my property. To this, he downplayed the sunglasses' importance to me and emphasized how busy, hardworking and responsible they were and had already been to me with utter sarcasm. He then requested that I not write to the restaurant again. As Ben Franklin noted, "He that lies down with Dogs, shall rise up with fleas." I've read several reviews, and to most of the less positive replies this restauranteur has responded with much of the same, self-serving minimizing and sarcasm. If a patron was extremely concerned that the server was not wearing a mask pursuant to the laws currently in effect for Phase 3, then that is matter to be brought to the attention of the Pacific County Department of Public Health and Human Services. If a patron were to become ill after visiting, then a good personal injury lawyer would have a field day showcasing such a cavalier attitude, pirate theme notwithstanding. I should know; I was a civil attorney for 25 years. read more

While driving through town and wanted a bite to eat, we spotted World's End and thought it looked nice. The pirate theme caught our eye so we decided to give it a try. It wasn't super busy, especially for a Friday night. There were maybe 5 tables being served including ours, but our waitress seemed frazzled and rushed us. I asked to try an IPA on tap, she came back a few minutes later and said it was only in cans. I said that's okay, I'll just go for the other IPA on the menu. A few minutes later, she returned with a peanut butter stout and walked away. Whatever, no big deal, I could have said something but beer is beer and I'd hate to waste it. Then she returned to take our order. I asked for the cod tacos, she seemed confused and said "got it, cod and chips." I corrected her, she mentioned she was having trouble with memory and couldn't work the iPad she was inputting our order into. Again, no big deal, just a little unprofessional. This is where it got frustrating. We ordered an appetizer which came quick, but we finished it and waited for our dinner for probably 20-30 minutes. Our beers were nearly empty and we were never asked if we wanted another. Our waitress kept saying our food was almost ready, but we kept waiting. When our food finally popped up in the window, we could hear her arguing with the chef. She rushed our food over and apologized, and explained that the kitchen was too busy bickering with each other to make our food. Kinda strange. Again, whatever, our food was in front of us so we were fine. The thing is, she kept coming by and making more excuses for what happened. Then, the other waitress came by, and had some story about how salmon takes longer to prepare and they were planning on preparing it the next morning. It was overwhelming when we just wanted to eat the food we had been waiting for. We were extremely nice through all of this, most people wouldn't have been. The icing on the cake was that we weren't even finished eating and our waitress awkwardly came over with our iPad and said "alright ready to check out?" Didn't ask if we wanted more beer, or anything else, just rushed us into paying. We also paid full price for our meal. The food, was just okay. Nothing special. My wife and I were looking for a quick bite on a cold Dec night after waiting for the cable guy to install our WIFI. We found this new establishment that opened in August 2019. Andy took great care of us with excellent service. She had the Crab Salad and I had the Salmon Salad, both with Balsamic Vinaigrette. The salad portion was generous, very fresh and the meat was cooked perfectly. I had 3 oyster shooters for an appetizer and she had the Shrimp Cocktail. Shrimp were fried and light and flaky.
