Unfortunately - and it pains me to write this, but - the Lost Roo has lost its luster. Maybe they were having a bad night tonight. We arrived before 5:00 pm, and it took a while to even put an order in. Even though we were sitting in the bar and there were a LOT of servers/bussers/etc. We ordered the Mushroom burger, the Chicken Bacon Guac burger and the Prime Rib Dip. Let's start with the pros - the Chicken Bacon Guac burger was pretty good! But the Prime Rib Dip had something like shredded meat on it, not sliced meat. So, when you dipped it in the Au jus, chunks of meet fell into the Au jus. Be ready to fish them out with a fork! The Mushroom burger was an exceptionally thin burger. Our server asked how we wanted it cooked. But it didn't matter. A burger that thin was coming out well done, no matter what. It had mushrooms on it, but not many at all. And we ordered the Cajun Tater Tots. Tonight, it was just like someone cooked tater tots, then shook some seasoning on them, and maybe the lid fell off the seasoning? They were drenched in some kind of Cajun-adjacent spice. We had recently been telling visiting guests that the Lost Roo was the one consistent, reasonably priced restaurant on the peninsula. Overall the vibe was great. They had the world cup game on and everyone was watching. The staff were friendly although service was a bit slow. They were busy so it was mostly expected although i definitely saw our server standing around doing nothing while they were waiting for food to come out. I was bummed because i was waiting for my drink that didnt end up coming. I had to ask again when our food came out. My son and i got the garlic cheese curds and shared a 2 piece fish and chips. We thought it was decent but he preferred the fish and chips he had the previous night over at drop anchor. This is definitely a favorite by folks. Very busy and had high ratings. I don't typically frequent sports bars, but it seemed a decent choice when visiting the area. It was a fortuitous experience. It happened to be the evening of a Seahawks game-so it was crowded. The staff was totally on the ball and seated us in a booth in a minute. The food was delicious. I like calamari, but done wrong, they can taste like fried rubber bands. Not these! They were delicious, prepared perfectly, with a delicious dipping sauce. Our meals came out promptly and were delicious. Try the fish tacos! I'd come back again if I visit the area again. read more

Here's another update during our visit to Long Beach: duly noted that they are closed on Monday/Tuesday. So we stopped in for dinner the next day (6/18/25). The Homie and I shared cheese curds served with ranch dressing & a bowl of Fisherman's chowder. The latter had cod, salmon, clams, and bacon. He was a bit disappointed that the chowder's flavor had changed during our 12 year hiatus. I thought the salmon had the predominate flavor. He also regretted not seeing the Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese on the current menu. He selected Prime Rib Dip with au jus and tots and was happy with that. I opted for the Lamb Burger also with tots. It was succulent and worked well with the goat cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce, and mint chimichurri. Lost Roo remains a very popular dining destination in Seaview. read more

In town for the weekend and decided to give this place a try for the first time. Easy to say we will be back every time we come back to town. Staff were attentive and food was excellent. Our favorite dinner spot when in Long Beach. Love the casual atmosphere of the Roo. This restaurant is large enough for parties of 2 or 15. Full bar and bar seating. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks arrive quickly. I try to get something different every time I'm here. So this time I tried the crab melt sandwich. The pub salad that came with it was delicious! It had cranberries, feta cheese and sunflower seeds paired with a raspberry vinaigrette. The sandwich was amazing! The crab was fresh!! Sold at market value and the bread was homemade focaccia. Warm and tasty! The drinks don't disappoint either. My old fashioned was one of the strongest I've ever had so be careful. What went well? The service was excellent! They changed the fish and chips, no more cod, now rock fish only. I loved the cod, fresh tasting and flaky! I could smell the rockfish coming out of the kitchen. Instead of cod chunks, it's now a couple of thin fillets. They smelled so fishy I couldn't eat them! The server was so kind, I said I would pay for the fish and chips but I had to order something else. She took the fish off the bill and I ordered some awesome chicken wings! When checking into our hotel and asking for a place to eat dinner he told us about this restaurant so we had to try it and are so happy we did! Four of us were there and ordered a couple salads, a cod sandwich and bruschetta and each of us really enjoyed our dinners. Lots of people there and it just felt good. We were in the restaurant where there were 2 large screen TVs and my brother-in-law' and I watched the Chiefs game while eating. We all enjoyed the images of kangaroos in the restaurant as well. The Lost Roo has consistently served up great food with great service. The restaurant is spacious, with patio dining available, too, when the inside gets too crowded. The service is always friendly, attentive and fast. We went for Valentine's Day cause everywhere else needed a reservation and we had just waited to long to decide we wanted to go out to dinner! Even though the place was packed, we were immediately seated. My husband got the rib eye steak with a side of grilled prawns special. The steak was cooked to medium perfection. It was a nice sized, tender piece of meat. My husband did say some garlic herb butter on top would have finished it off nicely, but that was the only "criticism " he could offer. The prawns were fresh and sublime. He was pleased and full. I decided on a cup of their Fisherman's Chowder and it is delicious! Chock full of all the good things, and flavorful. If you like clam chowder, you'd probably enjoy this. I also chose the Harvest Salad with chicken, feta cheese, apples, bacon, avocado and mixed greens. It came in a huge bowl and did not disappoint. The roo here isn't wandering aimlessly... but could be considered lost. I came in with low expectations... I simply take to what fellow Yelp Elite opinions say. For me I came away feeling satisfied because I came in with lower than usual expectations. Positives: the seafood tasted fresh. Really large clams, nicely cooked shrimp in the gumbo, fresh tasting chowder. Improvements: that gumbo sauce while fine, was more salty than my liking. The clams sauce grew on me but others felt it was salty as well. Oddly the best item was the tuna tower and while not perfect, beats the combo of items if found in the grocery deli. Lava cake was fine.... Whipped cream was clearly from a can but not surprised. The young gentleman serving us (with the reverse NIKE cap) knew what he was doing and attentive and it was appreciated. We really enjoyed this gem in Long Beach. Being people of color, we are not always welcomed in small towns but we felt comfortable at this establishment. The food was good. We ordered Crab and Bacon Mac, Lamb Burger and blackberry margaritas. The lamb burger was so delicious. We requested non spicy margaritas. Thursday prime Rib used to be amazing, the last couple times the prime Rib has been tough and I do mean tough. And this last time we had it to go. Tin foil in cardboard take out box left Prime Rib juice aka BLOOD all over my kitchen floor, what a disaster . Even the other take out places use better containers, seriously tin foil?? To contain all that juice SMH. The Brussel sprouts were under cooked so they couldn't be eaten, couldn't even bite through them!! I was really disappointed because it's unlike the Roo to produce that low quality. One of the best restaurants on the peninsula. Great menu variety with friendly home hospitality. Great selection of draft beers and the game is always on in the bar. Closed on Sundays and Mondays and like all the restaurants in the area don't come expecting a late meal as the kitchen closes early. read more
