    Fried chicken dinner
    Dwayne R.

We ate at the Lost Roo 2x during our visit to LB. This time we each ordered the fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and green beans. I don't order fried chicken anywhere. But the previous visit was so good I felt like it was safe to try. OMG, it was so good, sooo good. Tastiest recipe I've ever had. I wanted to ask so many questions about the owner and history of this place. Service: GREAT, FOOD: GREAT, Atmosphere: GREAT. Truly the best fried chicken I've ever had. I should let you know I finished my leftovers the next day and it was delicious.

Here's another update during our visit to Long Beach: duly noted that they are closed on Monday/Tuesday. So we stopped in for dinner the next day (6/18/25). The Homie and I shared cheese curds served with ranch dressing & a bowl of Fisherman's chowder. The latter had cod, salmon, clams, and bacon. He was a bit disappointed that the chowder's flavor had changed during our 12 year hiatus. I thought the salmon had the predominate flavor. He also regretted not seeing the Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese on the current menu. He selected Prime Rib Dip with au jus and tots and was happy with that. I opted for the Lamb Burger also with tots. It was succulent and worked well with the goat cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce, and mint chimichurri. Lost Roo remains a very popular dining destination in Seaview.

The service was rather slow, and the food was mediocre, although the atmosphere was pleasant in the bar area. It almost seemed as though our presence might have been an inconvenience to the servers because didn't feel welcomed at all. They weren't busy so maybe we interrupted their social time. Either way I wouldn't be back especially when there are so may other wonderful establishments in the area.

Our favorite dinner spot when in Long Beach. Love the casual atmosphere of the Roo. This restaurant is large enough for parties of 2 or 15. Full bar and bar seating. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks arrive quickly. I try to get something different every time I'm here. So this time I tried the crab melt sandwich. The pub salad that came with it was delicious! It had cranberries, feta cheese and sunflower seeds paired with a raspberry vinaigrette. The sandwich was amazing! The crab was fresh!! Sold at market value and the bread was homemade focaccia. Warm and tasty! The drinks don't disappoint either. My old fashioned was one of the strongest I've ever had so be careful. If you're looking for a great dinner spot for a weekend get away of family dinner stop in. You'll be glad you did and maybe this will become one of your favorite places like it is mine.

Went back to watch game and have a bite. House salad shared and fabulous Nachos were great. Asked to sub grilled chicken for buttermilk fried chicken. No problem and quite happy with meal.

What went well? The service was excellent! They changed the fish and chips, no more cod, now rock fish only. I loved the cod, fresh tasting and flaky! I could smell the rockfish coming out of the kitchen. Instead of cod chunks, it's now a couple of thin fillets. They smelled so fishy I couldn't eat them! The server was so kind, I said I would pay for the fish and chips but I had to order something else. She took the fish off the bill and I ordered some awesome chicken wings! This was my favorite place for fish, but no longer. Enjoyed it immensely when it was cod! I'll be back for other items, the prime rib is great!!!

When checking into our hotel and asking for a place to eat dinner he told us about this restaurant so we had to try it and are so happy we did! Four of us were there and ordered a couple salads, a cod sandwich and bruschetta and each of us really enjoyed our dinners. Lots of people there and it just felt good. We were in the restaurant where there were 2 large screen TVs and my brother-in-law' and I watched the Chiefs game while eating. We all enjoyed the images of kangaroos in the restaurant as well. Rachel is an excellent server with a good sense of humor who we talked with when she was at the table taking our orders, checking to see all was good and bringing our checks.

Fisherman's Chowder and Harvest Salad with chicken

The Lost Roo has consistently served up great food with great service. The restaurant is spacious, with patio dining available, too, when the inside gets too crowded. The service is always friendly, attentive and fast. We went for Valentine's Day cause everywhere else needed a reservation and we had just waited to long to decide we wanted to go out to dinner! Even though the place was packed, we were immediately seated. My husband got the rib eye steak with a side of grilled prawns special. The steak was cooked to medium perfection. It was a nice sized, tender piece of meat. My husband did say some garlic herb butter on top would have finished it off nicely, but that was the only "criticism " he could offer. The prawns were fresh and sublime. He was pleased and full. I decided on a cup of their Fisherman's Chowder and it is delicious! Chock full of all the good things, and flavorful. If you like clam chowder, you'd probably enjoy this. I also chose the Harvest Salad with chicken, feta cheese, apples, bacon, avocado and mixed greens. It came in a huge bowl and did not disappoint. You won't be dissatisfied by choosing to eat at The Lost Roo. Definitely a place to try out when you visit Long Beach, Wa.

Had lunch here, French dip with fries. Tasted really good. Fast and friendly server. Restroom was clean and stocked. Large split dining room with a lot of seating. Plenty of parking, lot will fit RVs.

Do they allow dogs at their outdoor seating area?

Never seen an outdoor eating area. There is an enclosed porch kind of area and I've never seen dogs in there. I hope they don't allow them cause it is an enclosed restaurant. Doesn't appear dog friendly.

It's not big...less than a dozen tables inside, there is outdoor seating, and when the weather is nice I bet it's a great place to be on a warm summer evening. Right on the water, with views of the boats. Ilwaco itself is a bit of a dungy town, but this place offers some delicious dishes, and the ambience is cozy, & romantic. We were immediately seated, as we were the only ones at the restaurant on this cold, wet PNW day. We both ordered a cup of their crab bisque. Delicious. It really hit the spot, and warmed up our cold bones. What I really liked about it was it wasn't too salty! Both my husband and I added a bit of salt and that elevated the flavor, but I liked that the chef didn't over salt it, and gave me the choice of how much sodium I wanted to add. My husband wished he had ordered a bowl. It is delightful, flavorful and a decent amount of crab in it, as well. (I enjoyed it so much, I forgot to take a picture of it!!) The chef really knows his stuff and has a great flavor profile on the menu. My husband ordered the Helm Burger with tots. He gave them two thumbs up. The burger patty looked fresh homemade, as opposed to frozen bought at Costco. It was a decent size, & thick and juicy. With the addition of bacon to it, he was greatly satisfied. I ordered the Deckhand. Let me tell you, this was a delicious sandwich! The pork is tender and juicy, the sauce is sweet but not overly so. The picked added a wonderful crispy texture along with the sweetness of the caramelized onions....it was a tastebud explosion. So good. And so filling. I had to take 1/2 home and was a bit annoyed when I found my husband ate it the next day for lunch! I guess that just means I'll have to go back sooner than later to order it again. I'd like to also mention that the tater tots were perfectly fried and crispy! The waitress from friendly and attentive and the chef was sweet and so pleased with our compliments. Don't wait a moment longer. Get yourself to Ilwaco and check this gem of a place out! You won't be disappointed.

We checked in with the hostess who saw the notes for my requests. The hostess took care to seat us at the perfect table to enjoy each other, the view, and the music. I saw a review where the couple didn't like their table facing the view but side by side chairs. We got that same table - we loved it for the intimacy and view! (We did book at sunset rather than after dark. *Note--yes we were facing the ocean and sun was beaming in but it wasn't an issue due to the adjustable shade. The service was as such that I believe they would have accommodated us had we been unhappy. YAY - we got Alyssa as our server! I saw her name in a few Yelp reviews and she didn't disappoint. Randall, whose name I also saw was the bartender - and ditto for him. They serve a "Cocktail for a Cause" -- this month was for Pride. It went down fast so I ordered a Sazerac and was a happy sipper. Starters: Clam Chowder and Burrata. One of the BEST clam chowders I've had (Alyssa did say it was a new batch from earlier that day so lucky us.) The Burrata didn't dazzle my tastebuds but it was still good. ‍ Entrees: Fried Rock Fish with hand-cut fries -- good. They dust the fries with rice flour before frying...different but still tasty. My partner is a hand-cut fries traditionalist so I enjoyed them more than he. Alyssa....chicken or pork... she said pork so... Pork Schnitzel: perfectly prepared with a wonderful onion gravy! Served with fingerling potatoes and brussel sprouts. For my taste the fingerlings were a touch overdone and the brussels were a touch underdone (and no, I don't like mushy veg.) The live music was around the corner so we could still hear each other AND enjoy the music. Wonderful Cost was pricey but we left full of good people, good drinks, good food, and good music. Worth the money in my book!
