We went back this summer. I had the fried oysters and the clam chowder. The oysters had a really light and crispy batter that they were fried in. The chowder wasn't really heavy and was more of a lighter cream based chowder. It was really nice, too. It was a really hot day and it was pretty warm inside. We really enjoyed this gem in Long Beach. Being people of color, we are not always welcomed in small towns but we felt comfortable at this establishment. The food was good. We ordered Crab and Bacon Mac, Lamb Burger and blackberry margaritas. The lamb burger was so delicious. We requested non spicy margaritas. Super place. We ate here twice during a recent 5 day stay. Once after another reservation went bad and again because we liked the first one. Nothing super fancy just darned good. Service was outstanding. Fun actually. We ate once in the main dining area and once "outside" in the enclosed porch. They also have a "bar" area. So, it's really like three different spots. We have been enjoying Lost Roo since 2017 and are overdue to offer a review. As soon as we're seated, the stellar service begins. We particularly look forward to seeing Renee. She always takes time to visit and is so cheerful. We marvel at her service which is so attentive even when she's busy tending the bar. Her 'Perfect Margarita' is a must. The food keeps us going back year after year. We have never been disappointed. The Jumbo Gumbo, Fishermen's Chowder, Bacon'n'Blue Burger, Baja Fish Tacos and Caesar salad are all-time favorites. Wow. Amazing food, drinks and service. Drinks were great and the best meal I have had during our stay at the coast. I had the Ahi Tuna Tower, my husband had the Fish and Chips. Fish and Chips were ok, but the Ahi tower was outstanding. Highly recommend the Roo's Cosmo and Cran-Apple Mule. Service was friendly and super quick. My partner and I had an excellent time here. In Long Beach for a weekend away, we didn't realize the entire town rolled up the sidewalks at around 730 and 8 PM. She's celiac and very sensitive to gluten so it can be difficult finding safe places for her to eat. We found Lost Roo around 8 o'clock and saw that other Celiac's in a GF App said it was safe, so instead of dawdling, we went here. The decor feels very manicured...it seems as though it was built to attract tourists with their Australian theme, but I'd generally call it an American steakhouse/pub food hybrid. My partner had a steak and mashed potatoes with some red wine and I had a French dip along with a blonde that the menu says was brewer just for the restaurant. The waitress was amazing and made several notations about my partner being GF as an allergy and even checked with the kitchen on the mashed potatoes to ensure that they didn't use any gluten-based materials as a filler. She enjoyed her steak, which was cooked perfectly, and my French dip was great and exactly what I was looking for. The beer was good but nothing really stood out about it as a special brew. It still tasted just fine though. We were one of the last people to leave but we never felt rushed. Even though the doors were locked, our waitress still asked if we wanted dessert and even made a point to tell us that the lava cake that night was gluten free, so there was no pressure at all for us to get out. If we're in the area, we'd definitely stop by again. Safe, great tasting food and a great staff. read more

Environment: The overall environment was clean. There was lots of lighting. And people were spaced out appropriately for covid. Service: Service was great. They came just enough times to help us out and they were very friendly. Food: I was so surprised. I was very skeptical at first, since it feels like an American bar. I was craving fish and given that we are by the coast, I thought it would be a good idea to order the tuna tower. Granted that it was supposed to be sashimi on top of some rice, and Asian inspired, I was not disappointed. It tasted so good and I would definitely order it again the next time I come. My friends also enjoyed their food and ordered: Jumbo Gumbo, Fish and Chips, crab cake and chips. I think the ahi tower is definitely a must try and must order again, the gumbo wasn't too bad either, the fish and chips are fish and chips, and the crab cakes were just okay. After hiking to the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, we chose this restaurant for a late lunch. We ordered tempura shrimp salad, shrimp Louie salad, fish & chips and prime rib au jue sandwich. We started with a calamari appetizer. The appetizer came to the table quickly and within 5" minutes so did our orders. The waitress that assisted was busy but paid attention to our needs. The food was very good, the interior was very clean and plenty of customers were inside at 1500 hours. Great atmosphere and family friendly. We will visit again when in the area. We were down visiting and read some reviews and figured it was worth a shot. 2 of our folks had the crab cake special. It was so very good. Not over cooked. Very tasty as were the fries and coleslaw. I had the crab/bacon Mac and cheese. So very good not over spiced with plenty of crab and bacon. The sauce was very rich and creamy. One of our other friends had roasted artichoke with their salad. They said it was amazing. We did also order a bowl of the chowder. That alone was a good choice. We were disappointed with the customer service when it came to our drinks. Online advertised $8 coconut margaritas. When we got the bill we were charged $12. We let Jessica M, our server, know and all she said was the online prices were wrong and old. In Long Beach with my wife for a couple days and she wanted to try this place last night. The service was fine. We were say quickly, great wait staff service except for one thing: she neglected to warn me away when explaining their Reuben. Her claim on size was ridiculouly off. It *ss on burnt bread. First, it was cooked like a patty melt until the bread wasn't recognizable rye. I couldn't taste rye at all. Second, it was super thin - like a ham sandwich. There were 3-4 thin slices of corned beef and very little sauerkraut. I'd actually say, it had equal parts dressing, cheese, sauerkraut and corned beef. And not a pickle in site. The sandwich was assembled and left on the grill till there was no pulse, it was blackened, thin and bitter tasting. It was on the grill so long the ends of the corned beef were burnt. I told her when she asked how it was that "I'll get thru it," and I tried, but as you can see I left almost half. The tots were good. My wife liked her meal. read more

It's a burger and Fries, family sports bar type of a place, so not our normal go to. That being said, they were able to accommodate our low carb, gluten free needs. The lamb was great, salad fresh, and for a beer pub kind of place had a better-than-expected selection of wine by the glass. Put simply, worked well for us, and probably will for you too.
