We came in genuinely excited and left very disappointed. Our service was as cold as the food we were served. It's uncomfortable having to tell your server the food is unacceptable. It's poor form to not apologize and ask how to remedy the issue. Removing our cold French dip sandwiches with a scowl and without a word is not good service. We always get good service...and today was no exception. We like this restaurant. The food was good but it isn't great cuisine. We come for sandwiches or regular meals. We found this place on Yelp. Restaurant itself was a typical bar, nothing fancy. However, the waitress was great, taking care of the entire place by herself! She knew the regulars, and had their drinks ready when they walked in. The food was very good - clam strips, burgers, French dip, and pastrami sandwich...and everyone loved the fresh cut fries! Such a delightful encounter with the woman who served us (I wish I remembered her name; she was a jovial woman with red curly hair)! The food was absolutely DELICIOUS to boot; I ordered the Panned Fried Oyster Sandwich with a side of fries and freshly squeezed OJ. All the food we had here in Oregon was great; but this establishment, Relief Pitcher, is what I will highly recommend--on top of encouraging to try the Oyster sandwich.
