The good: the hostess/bartender def were really nice!!! Sadly that was about the only good thing. There was a heavy odor upon entering, I know... it's fish place, but it just wasn't an appetizing aroma to first experience. My mom really wanted a crab boil, and this was kinda the only place in town that had what she was looking for. Sadly, for what we paid, it was barely worth eating. Maybe during the peak season this place would be better, just sorry to report it wasn't worth the price ($100 for one snow crab bucket, an order of fish and chips, and one Pepsi). If it wasn't so pricey it would have been forgettable. read more

Casual fish, fish and chips, fish sandwiches and burgers. Seated promptly and server took our drink orders as soon as we sat down. I had the 3 piece halibut fish and chips. Got 4 pieces with fries and coleslaw. Had just come out of fryer, had to wait till it cooled down. Halibut was moist with a light beer batter coating. My wife had cod fish tacos, there was so much fish and coleslaw in the tortilla shells she had to eat them with a fork and knife as they were too full to actually pick up. She ate it all and said it was excellent. Server kept our sodas full and had a great personality. Wood tables with wood chairs, had good alcohol and beer selection. Will have to come back for happy hour in addition to lunch or dinner. Prices were very reasonable for quality food. Recommended. read more

Excellent food and service! I had the steamed clams at lunch and it was not too much but rather just the right amount of food. It came with delicious sourdough bread that was perfect for soaking up all the delicious butter/wine sauce that the clams were steamed in. amazing no. but had a great experience. In Seaside with my 3 year old and took her out for dinner. The staff from greeter and sever were friendly with my daughter. As for food the oyster poboy could have had toastier bread but the oysters were pleasant and pro-tip upgrade $2 to beer batter onion rings. Kids fish and chips $10 was two pieces of fish of good size. The best part was the clam chowder. Have I had better yes. But was flavorful and the way I like creamy but not that overly flowered thickened type. I could taste the onion and celery mild hints. First, the positive. Super cute little restaurant, trendy, good service, friendly. Excellent tartar sauce. But. The $26 three piece fried halibut meal came with s a third "piece" that was a third the size of the other two. Neither the fries nor the fish had been salted, and were extremely greasy. The chowder was bland. I could find clams and potatoes in it, but they left out the flavor. Salt, pepper, and oyster crackers were no help. If anything, it had a weird acrid taste, and we left a lot of it in the bowl. I've had plain cream that had more flavor. Returned to our lodgings a bit queasy, took Pepto Bismol, and vowed to never return. read more

We were greeted and seated right away. The interior is simple with windows all around. Music is playing and it's not too loud. I ordered the oyster Po Boy with clam chowder on the side. My son saw this in the Seaside magazine as soon as we got to our hotel. It was super close, less than 5 minutes. We got fried oysters, clam chowder, fettuccine Alfredo, and the kitchen sink boil. The clam chowder was good with a good amount of meat. My son got the fettuccine; it was so creamy. Last my husband and I shared the kitchen sink. It's a good thing the name is the crabby oyster because we definitely left a lot crabbier. The service is beyond slow - expect to spend over an hour even if you just get drinks and apps. My fiancé spit out the oyster it was so bad. The bathroom doors don't lock so someone walked in on me. All in all, probably one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. read more

Walked past this establishment a handful of times while we were staying at Seaside on vacation. It always caught our eye, but we always had other cravings when it was time for dinner. We finally got ourselves to eat there on one of our last nights. My wife and I both got the bread bowls and clam chowder! Yum yum yum! Highly recommend it. Filled us both up. The bread was awesome. The chowder has yummy large potato chunks. The Diet Pepsi and root beer was also spot on! Would definitely recommend this dish here at this restaurant! read more

My family and I went here and thought this place was mostly just, okay. Nothing terrible, nothing amazing. I was super excited to try the Halibut and Fish but I'll be honest, I feel like they either gave me the wrong fish and gave me cod or this was some of the worst Halibut that I've ever had. It didn't have the same texture that Halibut typically has and therefore was not great. I am a solid true and true, only eat Halibut and Fish and this just didn't do it for me. Everyone agreed that their food was just mediocre, nothing to write home about. I will say though, the best part of our experience was our waiter. I wish that I remembered his name. He was slightly younger and was super friendly and on top of things. read more

Im giving 3 stars because our initial experience was enjoyable thanks to seasoned server/bartender. The 2nd time we went we were served by the manager. My sister ordered a vodka cranberry with a splash of pineapple. He gave her all 3 ingredients in shot glasses. Idk if he dislikes senior woman, or his job. Regardless, he needs to learn people skills. Very rude!!!! read more

This place is cute and it was SO good we ate here 2 days in a row and had the exact same thing both days! The halibut sandwich is delicious! We actually preferred it the 2nd day when we got it without the cheese. Also the clam chowder flavor is delicious but the consistency is not consistent. The 1st night it was thick and soooo good. The 2nd day it was really runny and not the best, but the flavor was still okay. The water however is not drinkable, it's gross. I'm sorry to say that, but there's not any other way to describe it. And the staff, well they just seemed to be there but like they'd rather be somewhere else. Maybe they were just having off days. Idk, but I do know we will definitely be back for that halibut sandwich! read more

We stopped for lunch just before we had to leave town. I had deep fried oysters (12) and my partner the fried salmon. I must say, the oysters were out of this world. Crispy exterior with a melt in your mouth oyster that was so good, I talked about it for the better part of the drive back to Portland. The 3 PC salmon was good, fries with the salmon cooked to perfection. Both plates came with a mild coleslaw that was a perfectl fit with the protein. Service was excellent and I must say, if for no other reason than to dine there - we Will RETURN to Seaside!!!!! Wowser. I didn't think to get pictures... next time!! read more

Not bad if you want a simple crab boil. We ordered the seaside delight, and we were pleased! We actually ended up with a whole crab, and a half. Not what we were expecting as our server said it would just be one, but we didn't complain with the extra half!! Only thing is that your boil will get cold fast, and it wasn't really too warm when we got it, so we ended up with cold potatoes and crab legs the last bit of our meal. This was a great place for lunch. We were trying to decide where to go where we have not gone before. We had walked past this place a couple times but never paid much attention to it. I Googled lunch place and tada, this place showed up. I really enjoyed myself. All of the employees were friendly and upbeat. The place has a fantastic menu. Placed the order to go. We always order halibut with fries. We ordered 3 plates to go. But instead of halibut, they gave us cod. It is a big difference in a price. As soon as it was to go, we realized that when we were already far from the restaurant. So there was no point to comeback. Just very upsetting that they can make money on customers for giving a cheap fish. We have been there before for at least 5 times, but will never comeback. read more

Not only do they have smoked salmon, crab, oysters, and just about every fish imaginable, but that smoked ahi tuna dip might honestly be one of the greatest snack inventions known to mankind. Throw it on chips, make a sandwich out of it, eat it straight with a spoon like a wild animal, it does not matter. It is incredible. What I love about this place is it feels authentic. Not some polished tourist trap trying too hard. This place has history in the walls. Bell Buoy has been around since 1946 and is one of the last remaining canneries on the Oregon Coast, still smoking and canning seafood in house with vintage equipment that somehow still hums along decades later. (Bell Buoy) You can taste that tradition the second you bite into anything they make. Everything in there just screams Oregon Coast excellence. Fresh crab, wild salmon, smoked fish, seafood stacked everywhere like a treasure chest from the Pacific Ocean. You walk in thinking you'll buy one little thing and suddenly you're walking out carrying enough seafood to feed a fishing village. No regrets whatsoever. The people working there were friendly, the products were amazing, and honestly it just made the whole day better. Places like this are why road trips to Seaside are dangerous for your wallet but great for your soul. I was stoked to leave with something that tasted that good. Absolute treat from start to finish. If you are anywhere near Seaside and you skip Bell Buoy, you are doing the Oregon Coast wrong. Five stars without hesitation.
