We love these places! We stopped in here on our way from a long camping weekend. It's a great place to be able to pull into if your towing campers, boats, or any large pulls. We were sat immediately and had drinks on the table in minutes. We looking over the big menu and ordered the club sandwich and a French dip. We also ordered cups of clam chowder. The chowder was good and served hot. The club sandwich is stacked in the classic fashion. It was packed with meats and cheese and is very good. The French dip is slightly fatty but after doing a little trimming it was very good with flavorful au jus. Check out the local art on the walls. Had the halibut off the lunch menu (dinner gives you an extra side). Had a cup of chowder (included) which was good. Creamy, lots of goodies. Rich but not too much. May opt to decline the pat of butter next time. I find a cup of chowder the be the right amount so I can feel good without feeling like my arteries are clogged - esp if the soup precedes three perfectly fried pieces of halibut and 2 slices of buttery garlic bread. Unfortunately, this was an awful experience for us. I was super excited to come here, since we had never been in all our visits to Seaside. We generally go to the same few places in town. When I read the reviews, I was excited. Yikes- I was so bummed. Entering the restaurant, sitting down- all that was fine. We ordered our food, and after a bit the waitress came back to let us know that the fish sandwich was out for the night. No biggy, I had ordered clam chowder for the side and she had brought it out as she told me that. I said that I might want a different side, only because I wouldn't want to mix fish with chicken as an example. She seemed annoyed with that and told me she would not have me "pay for it". I wasn't exactly sure what she meant, because it was my side- I wasn't paying for it anyways. Regardless I just ended up keeping it to save face. I ordered the chicken sand which instead. The sand which was so dry; I had to cut it with a knife. It was probably the worse chicken sandwich h I've ever had, honestly. It tasted rubbery and microwaved almost. Zero seasonings. The produce was soggy and wilted, it just was not good at all. Then when she brought out the rest of our meals (we had two tickets going) they mixed one meals side up with a other meals side. It was fries. She said "I didn't think it was a big deal since we we really not charging you for it" what she was referring to was my daughter (7 year old) got a salad as her side with her chicken strips. They put another child's fries on her plate of chicken strips and asked us to swap them. Which fine, but her remark was about her side salad - which again like mine came with my meal. She was co fused on the comping and mistakes it for my daughters instead of my bowl of soup. Which neither were an extra fee. When I looked up co fused at her, she literally walked away from me in mid sentence with an attitude and brought our additional fries for the other child. I really hope she was just having a bad day. Cause gosh, that was not the way we wanted to end out last meal of our trip. It was very overpriced also. Especially for what seemed like microwaved chicken. The chowder I will say was decent The bathroom in the main restaurant is not wheelchair friendly. It's extremely narrow. They may have one in another area over in the bar that is, I did not witness that, but if a handicapped child came in, they would not be able to get their wheelchair down it. We were staying in Seaside as we were traveling down the coast, and love to try local, hole in the wall places. We were there at dinner time, and were the only ones in the restaurant. We could hear others on the bar side. Our drinks were great! We were not super hungry so my husband and I shared the steak and potatoes. We chose this place because the tag on Yelp says there was seafood, not too many options for seafood but we ordered The Skipper, the portion size matched the $24 price tag, two people could easily share one plate. We ordered a bowl of oatmeal and that was undercooked. My something Jack burger was a little overdone along with the sauteed onions and onion rings being burnt and overcooked. We have gone to this restaurant twice and both times have had a fantastic experience!! Our server was friendly, funny and efficient. We felt welcome and taken care of. I had the fish and chips and they were so freaking good! Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The fries were crispy and hot and tasted fresh. Hubs had the Prime Rib French Dip and the meat was so tender, it melted in your mouth (yes, I snitched a bite!). Honestly, if you are driving by you can blink and miss it. We used to go here at least once a week and loved it. Ever since it changed ownership it has gone down hill. We tried it again this week and were very disappointed. Clam chowder was cold, husband's clubhouse was burnt, hamburger bun was soggy, and coffee was about 8 hours old. The service wasn't great. Never had drinks refilled, she only came to restaurant side from bar to take our orders and bring food out. It makes us sad because this used to be our local "go to" place. It was FIVE large pieces of perfectly battered & fried amazingly delicious halibut. My husband had the French Dip. He said it was good, but wished he'd ordered it with cheese to really make it great. We both really liked the fries, too. Our waitress was so very sweet. Loved her! And I really appreciate the little details... Paprika sprinkled on the tartar sauce, a pat of butter on the chowder. I don't understand how this place gets 4 stars. My wife and I stopped in and ordered fish and chips, usually a safe bet at any coastal restaurant. NOT HERE. I should have canceled my order when I saw the server grab a handful of green salad with her bare hands and throw it on a plate for another guest, instead I just Thanked the powers that be that we ordered chowder. The order came out FAST, surprisingly fast , the reason was obvious when we tried our food, greasy and soggy chips and fish you could tell that this stuff was pre cooked and thrown back into the fryer to reheat it YUK! Did I mention the chowder was obviously microwaved and not stirred up as it was blistering hot on the edges of the bowl and barely warm in the middle? This place is a waste of time and money. But if your Asian, Hispanic, or anyone other than White , or a white person with a husband and children that are bi racial. You will soon realize your not liked. The waitress smiles and even laughs with white guests But gives looks of disdain. To the tanned guests. And if your 2 year old gets cranky and becomes verbal that's when the rolling of the eyes start. When one of the regulars came in the woman looked and rolled her eyes at the waitress. Who joined her in the look, her husband then loudly and without shame pointing a thumb at us said "seat us anywhere where their not" We are pleasant people. Never have we come across a place like this. Nor will we ever return. For a pleasant waitress, a smile or a few kind words we happily tip well. We once gave a shy new waitress 150.00 tip And told her she did a good job. We care about people and there feelings. We found this place on a website of the top places to get clam chowder in the area. We stopped in and did take out since dinner was already planned at the home we were renting. The staff were all nice. We paid 7.50 for a bowl and the bowl was quite small. It also came with two packages of the oyster crackers. This was the best chowder we had in the area. It was quite thick, had a lot of clams in it and had a nice buttery flavor. The texture was not soupy at all and was on the thicker side. It seems in the past that chowder has potatoes but I didn't taste any, maybe they were really soft. The other items on the menu looked good. We would stop again. read more

We drive past this place often and decided to stop in and try the Prime Rib on a Friday night. Service was absolutely terrible! People arrived after us, served before us, and half way through their meal before we were served. Both meals were cold. We sent it back and when it returned it was only lukewarm. We asked for napkins that never came. We asked for a box that never came. It took 15 minutes to get the bill. The waitress apologized and then said "It is what it is." One of the very few places in Seaside open early in Feb on Sunday. It's actually about 5min south of Seaside. What you WON'T get is joyful service with a smile. It wasn't rude service, just a couple older women who have been doing this way too long. Prices were reasonable, portions were good, place was VERY clean. My biscuits and gravy were a big load. This local family restaurant located at Cannon Beach Junction (US 101 & US 26), which serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant has a cocktail lounge with TVs and Oregon Video Lottery terminals on the left side and the cozy dining room on the right side. The homey atmosphere is very welcoming with framed pictures on the walls and country decor. I stopped here for dinner around 8:30PM on a typical weeknight and I was the only diner here. I ordered the fried Captain's Plate ($16.95-prawns, halibut, & scallops fried in homemade batter) served with choice of starch, garlic toast, tartar & sweet & sour sauces and salad or chowder. I chose the cup of chowder, which was very good, a thick (passed the spoon test) and creamy consistency with potato chunks and minced clams. The modest portion of fried seafood had a crispy and greasy texture on the outside (like a tempura batter), pretty good. The rice pilaf was standard fare and the garlic toast was buttery. For dessert, the Blackberry Pie ($3.75) was served warm with Vanilla Ice Cream and very good. The service was good this night. read more

Stopped in on the way to the beach because the sign said chowder. We wanted to grab some to go, but we ended up meeting Kim, and we stayed there talking for 30 minutes instead...lol. We could've eaten our chowder in the time we actually spent there so we should've just dined in...lol. Kim was awesome and I hope we get to come back and spend some time and check out the prime rib they have on special! The chowder was excellent! Kim even offered us a sample before we bought it. They also had $6mimisas on special for the day too which we were big fans of. The orange juice was great quality with pulp.
