Mo's is an Oregon staple. You can find locations all along the coast and throughout the Portland area, and it's always dependable when you're craving seafood. The clam chowder is a must, especially in the famous bread bowl. We also ordered a Bloody Mary, shrimp and grits, plus the steamed clams! Delicious! We were heading down from Astoria and it was a windy/cloudy day in the PNW. This Seaside location has great views of the beach, so we grabbed a front table and enjoyed people-watching while taking in the waves. 3 adults visiting the area. Everyone familiar with the PNW area said to eat fresh seafood. We happened to be in Seaside at lunchtime and a quick Google search gave us Mo's Seafood! Loved the ambience of the place. No chairs, just benches. The patio had traditional picnic table style where you have to climb in. The tables inside were separate from the benches. Great beach/seaside view from our table. Big wall of windows. Sis ordered cod fish n chips, coleslaw w/ shrimp as the side. She liked both. Mom and I both got the blackened shrimp skewers (×15) with fries, w/ clam chowder as our sides. I've never had clam chowder before. OMG... have I been missing out!? Or maybe it's just good here. I was surprised to find diced potatoes in my cup. And the cream broth had just a hint of fishiness. A cup was the prefect amount. Mom and I both liked the blackened shrimp as well. Loved the seasoning on it (possibly Old Bay??). The cute fish plate had cocktail sauce for dipping. Had a strong horseradish flavor. And the fries had a good crunch to soft potato ratio, but were greasy. Our server was friendly and helpful with menu questions. Stomach gap moves well at the coast is a must! No matter what city we stop in that has a Mose. We always stop for dinner or lunch. This particular location had ramps in such to were in my Mobility Scooter. I could eat out on the patio. It was a beautiful day and enjoyed it very much. I of course, had the rockfish fish and chips in a cup of chowder. Best chowder around! The fish was perfect. What's really funny is I prefer rock fish over halibut and the halibut was a five dollar up charge. That's OK by me! Seaside is such a beautiful beach, with that amazing view of the mountain dropping right down to the shore. We just had to see it! It was also memorable to my husband from when he ran the Hood to Coast race from Mt. Hood to Seaside Beach. On our short trip, we had lunch at Mo's, Seafood & Chowder, which is famous for their clam chowder and seafood. The chowder was absolutely amazing, and the 7 oz salmon filet we had was so tender and delicious. We washed down our meal with a glass of Chardonnay & a lager beer. Service was efficient & we quickly got our food. If you ever visit Seaside Beach, you absolutely have to try Mo's. Their chowder is the best I've ever had, and sitting there with the mountain view by the beach was just the perfect ending. read more

We were seated immediately for lunch on a Tuesday, and the restaurant wasn't very busy. We both ordered the same thing -- the fish & chips with panko-breaded fish, which also came with a cup of chowder. The chowder was good and piping hot. Unfortunately, that was about the highlight of the meal. The fish had absolutely no flavor. None. It was as if they didn't let salt, pepper, or any other seasoning within a 2-mile radius of the fish for fear it might accidentally land on it. I couldn't even finish mine. The tartar sauce was okay, although it had raw onion in it, which I'm not a fan of. We spent $43.90 for lunch and honestly, neither of us enjoyed the meal. A classic place to come to at seaside and honestly not bad. Clam chowder was pretty good, nice and creamy and plenty of crackers. Still a super busy place as I said it is a staple here. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon but were surprisingly able to be seated fairly quickly. Mo's chowder always hits, every spoon-full is chunky and hearty! We ordered the chicken Alfredo, shrimp Alfredo, and combination plates this time. Both Alfredo dishes came with a side of bread, which was toasted and buttered nicely. Honestly, the pasta was average and not as great as I had remembered. The combination plates were decent, but the fries had this odd vinegar taste to them. This place was quite busy as it was the weekend but my large party got seated rather soon at two tables next to each other. I liked the beer-battered halibut fish n chips and how the fish inside was moist, not dry. The fries were also crispy and well seasoned. I tried some of the shrimp alfredo which came with a side of bread. The alfredo was creamy and bread was buttery. Both entrees came with a side of chowder which they brought out first. Mo's has quite a name for itself on the Oregon Coast and their location in Seaside is right on the waterfront. It's all about location, right? Our group of 18 people was easily accommodated by the staff, with all of us filling 4 tables next to each other. We had two servers who took our orders quickly, bringing water and other drinks faster than you could say "water, please." They were great! The servers were attentive and patient with all of us; when someone at my table couldn't remember what she ordered, the server was kind and helped her figure out what it was she wanted. That server deserves a raise! (I think her name was Brittany.) I ordered a cod sandwich and a dinner salad with bay shrimp as my side. The salad was large, considering it was a "side" and the blue cheese dressing was perfect. The cod sandwich was okay, nothing special, but it helped fix my hungry stomach. Others at my table ordered poached fish, clam chowder in a bread bowl, shrimp cabbage salad, and fish & chips; all said their food was good, except the very mushy bread bowl. The Applebee's of the Sea! You can expect mediocre food suitable for the whole family! This location has an incredible view that makes it worth it. Mo's is budget friendly with a basic enough menu to satisfy the pickiest of eaters. I had a margarita that was okay. Mussels were okay, but nothing to rave about. The bread though was absolutely incredible - soft and fluffy - if you love white bread. Clam chowder is pretty good, as it should be, but not the best in town. read more

We visited Mo's this evening and left frustrated with the experience. First, the wait was projected at 45 minutes for a patio table, as we are traveling with the two small dogs. This isn't the restaurant's fault, and the waitlist system they use did a fine job of letting us know when our space was ready. Once seated, it all went to hell. We sat down and were greeted with a table that was sticky with filth. If you set a paper napkin on it, the napkin stuck to the table. After about 10 minutes of no attention, our server finally arrived and took our order. While there she informed me that the little dog on my lap would need to stay in the floor for cleanliness reasons. I suppose this would have been easier to take if there was some evidence that cleanliness was a priority at Mo's. We ordered two oyster shooters, some of the vaunted clam chowder in a bread bowl with shrimp and fish & chips. The oyster shooters both had a good size / good quality oyster in them, but everything else was awful. Don't order these. The fish & chips were greasy and underwhelming ($26). The clam chowder is recognizable as clam chowder, but in no way lives up to the marketing. The shrimp they seem to put on everything is just that cheap farmed cocktail shrimp you can get frozen from the grocery store. The dogs wouldn't eat it, so that's a good indication of what they're serving. Overall, it was just a big disappointment. Mo's is an experience we will never repeat. If you're inclined to give them a try, I would suggest that there are far better choices. read more

Highly recommend this location. Friendly. Understanding. Family restaurant. Busy during certain times, depending when you go. Fast. Always good food. Parking is great. Multiple locations to park. Can be loud at times, but sometimes can be quiet. Depends when you go. But highly recommend even if you have a child that has attitude issues and makes a scene. This place was pretty awesome, we're not staying too far from Mo's so we went for dinner. The restaurant is nice and lots of space, the staff was super friendly and we knew what we wanted. The Chowder was auger awesome and tasted very good and I'm usually not a fan. The Halibut Fish n Chips were pretty awesome and tasted super fresh, the breading was cooked to perfection as well. Even the tartar sauce tasted pretty awesome and I enjoyed our time at Mo's. I came here on the 3rd of July with my family. I thought our server was okay. We ordered our food and when the food arrived our server just stood on one side handing out the food. You should definitely go to the side the person is on to hand their food to them. We also got some strawberry lemonade and no refills were offered. We ata a late lunch here today and it wasn't great. Food was bland. The lettuce for the salads was wilted and many pieces were really brown. Tomatoes on the salads were past prime as well. Kids were satisfied with the fish & chips (though I tried and tasted fishy and not fresh) and fried shrimp (tasted better than the fish). The cocktail bay shrimp (baby shrimp size) was decent as it tasted fresh and clean though had bits of shell that I crunched on. Their cocktail sauce is great. Feels a bit more fast food than actual restaurant now. Was given the receipt for the table next to me and had to do a double take to make sure I paid the right amount. He handed us our menus and then tossed the "dog" rules on top of our menus, walked away, came back to take our orders, not friendly AT all. He was bland and seemed like he wanted to be any where else. We questioned why the whole table top was sticky and he said that is how the surface is. Did not ask to bring water to our dog. Took our order walked away, brought our horrible food, The chowder was great but my steamers had no flavor what so ever. The broth was tasteless, zero flavor and the tomatoes were still raw, not sauteed in juices. Staple for the Oregon coast! Known for their big Bread Bowl of clam chowder. The main entrees you can get chowder as a side, it used to be a perfect ratio of ingredients but now it's 90% potatoes, which some love but it's not my thing. The Tuna Melt is my fav thing in the menu! It's big, cheesy, tunay, and buttery. Very filling and always tastes delicious! We went on a Friday for lunch and it wasn't real busy but it took a long time to get food. They brought a side salad that I asked for no shrimp and it looked like they put it on, then remembered and tried to pick it off, cuz there was random shrimp in the salad which was annoying. Mo's has been a classic place to go for as long as I've been in Oregon (all my life). Came here during Hood to Coast 2024. It was busy, but the server was very friendly and personable. We chatted about surfing. I ordered a beer, a cup of clam chowder, and a plate of fettuccine Alfredo with bay shrimps. Everything came out quickly, like amazingly quick. The clam chowder is decent, but nothing like the quality in the past. The Alfredo came out tasting fine, but the sauce was a bit more watery, and some of the bay shrimps still had parts of the shells still intact. We are at MO's in Newport two day on a row-- it was that good! The clam chowder was the best I've ever had!! Do NOT have the clam chowder in Seaside! It was NOT even close to the Newport clam chowder!It was more like potato soup!! I was so excited for a seafood restaurant on the coast. That quickly died with the salad. I asked for the shrimp cabbage salad. They actually meant that literally. Shredded cabbage with tiny shrimp in a mayo plopped on top. How very disappointing. Shrimp tasted from a can as well. Daughter and I both got the shrimp salad sandwich. Bun was toasted and then it had that mayo/canned shrimp in the middle. The celery pieces in it had been cut so small, you couldn't even tell it was in there.
