Eating vegan in the Oregon North Coast at Thai Us Up in Seaside, OR. Lovely place to grab some vegan thai food on the coast. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. While none of the dishes were labelled vegan specifically, she helped guide us to the dishes that were suitable for us. Any dish that included red curry was not vegetarian because the red curry is made with fish sauce. However, any dish with green curry was safe as she recently ordered a veg friendly version of the green curry in order to cater for veg preferences . She also mentioned about possibly working on bringing out a separate vegetarian menu in the future . The Fried Tofu was yummy. The texture was more light and fluffy than what I was expecting, as in the past ... the fried tofu I've had consisted of a firmer texture. So it was a bit different, but really good .. especially when coupled with the included dipping sauce. The Peanut Noodle dish was great, thanks in no small part to their wonderfully flavorful peanut sauce!! I'm soooo much a fan of their Avocado Curry, lots of pieces of avocado and tofu, really tasty and filling.

I don't eat fish sauce or shrimp paste, and luckily the staff was very accommodating--several dishes could be made without them. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Yellow Curry with rice, along with a Thai iced tea. Everything was flavorful, and satisfying. A good spot for Thai food at the beach, especially if you have dietary preferences!
Based on initial atmosphere and service we expected to really like this place. I started with a Thai iced tea which was overly sweetened and did not finish it. I cut it with water 3 times and it still was a sugar bomb. Regardless most places can't make a good Thai tea anyways so I continued on to an appetizer. I was excited to know that they accommodate gluten free food. The wontons were amazing in my husband's opinion. The entrees to follow looked better than they tasted. The wings were inedible, the tofu was not seasoned at all. There was however live music, not good sounding but it was live. We later had to change our plans due to food poisoning that followed.

The service is a bit slow as it seems to be only one person serving, checking people and handling to-go orders. There are no frills at this place, but the food is great! I ordered the coconut shrimp and the stir fried curried crab. If I had a complaint it would be the appetizer and entreé arrived too close together, I hadn't had a chance to get halfway through my coconut shrimp and the curry crab came. I will say the woman/only service person was very pleasant and accommodating. I will say the pricing was decent because for crab, shrimp and a glass of wine plus a 20% tip my total was less than $60. If you're in Seaside, check this place out!
Every time I am in seaside, I do not skip Thai me up. The wings are SO GOOD. they are also soooo spicy. You will need to order a second Thai tea. The pad Thai is very too. Awesome service and a specious interior. Highly recommend coming!!! DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE!!!
The wings are great here but I think we had an off day on the other items. My noodles were good and a little spicy but the seafood was not the best or at least not to my taste. My other coworker got the pad thai and said it was a bit bland. Portions were large. The owner and her son were delightful. It's a large space. This was a cute town.
This place was highly recommended by a coworker who loves Thai food and enjoys spice and flavor. Slim pickin's in Oregon, so the bar was pretty low. I ordered the Spicy Basil fried rice entree $15.95. Pick your protein: chicken, pork, vegetable or Tofu included OR choose beef +$1, shrimp +$2, crispy pork +$3, seafood mix +$5. The fried rice had plenty of chicken (all white meat), sauteed onions, red bell pepper, carrots, cucumber, green beans and green onions. All of the veggies were super fresh and the green beans still had a squeak when I took a bite (a sign of freshness). The menu listed this entree as a 1 chili spice level. In my personal opinion (love spicy chili packed foods), the fried rice had good flavor but was not at all spicy. It didn't look like much food when I opened my to-go order, but it was surprisingly filling. A FULL meal for sure, maybe with a bit leftover for lunch tomorrow. I highly recommend giving this local business a try. Food is fresh and flavorful. I would start at the next level of spice if you enjoy spicy food :)
I was surprise this restaurant made such an outstanding Thai food in this small town ! We ordered the Garlic wings , green curry and tom yum soup for dinner . The green curry cam with rice , which was perfect to have it with curry . The wings was sooooo great , crispy outside but juicy .But the source was kind of too spicy for me , spicy but little sweet / sour that made a good appetizer . The green curry was so good to eat with white rice , green curry had strong curry flavor , and also basil which was exactly what I had in Thailand . The tom yum soup was also great as well I would defiantly recommend this place .
Note that Thai Me Up Seaside IS OPEN during COVID for LIMITED INDOOR DINING and TAKEOUT! After becoming tired of eating fish and chips in Cannon Beach, my family decided to venture over to Seaside for some more ethnic food. There are several different Thai restaurants in Seaside, but Thai Me Up 1) has the best Yelp reviews and 2) the best restaurant name ever so we obviously had to try this place out! We ordered the pad prikh king (beef), pad see ew (tofu), pad khao soi (chicken), and papaya salad to go. The host was very pleasant on the phone and had our ready within 30 minutes. The food was extremely hot when we arrived to pick it up and was the perfect temperature by the time we got back to our hotel. All of the dishes were excellent. Our favorite was the pad see ew- the noodles were perfectly seasoned in sweet and savory brown sauce. The pad prikh king and pad knao soi were also good. The only dish we were surprised by was the papaya salad- it was fiery hot!! As someone who can usually tolerate a 3 or 4 star spicy dish, even I struggled to eat it. It was very flavorful and authentic, but my nose was left burning and tingling by the end of it. I'm not sure if you can adjust the stars for the salad, but I would highly recommend ordering mild if possible. Overall though: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service

I really liked this place , and was surprised there weren't more people there . I ordered the pad chicken eggplant but they must not have heard me right as I got home to find it was with rice not noodles , but the eggplant was delicious and the chef even cut it into bit sized pieces for me since I was without a knife at my hotel This place has a nice atmosphere and lots of tables. I'd come again and bring large groups too read more
Came in and we appeared to be the first customers of the day. We ordered Thai Ice tea and Shrimp Salad Roll, Mango Curry and Seafood Tom Kha. Everything made fresh, made from scratch, took a little longer than most other places. Soup was HOT (temperature wise) and tasted good. The Mango Curry was very good too. The Shrimp Salad Rolls were very good and filling. They give you HUGE portions and brought home a large part of my curry. Not the fanciest restaurant in Seaside but food was pretty good. read more
My wife and I were in Seaside and ordered delivery from tie me up. Both of us ordered the Pet se ew. It was OK. I had mine with shrimp that were overdone so they were a little rubbery, I had very few vegetables even adding extra vegetables on the delivery menu. But it was full of greens. Not sure exactly what they were, but they didn't taste good and I had to pick them all out of my bowl. My wife had hers with crispy pork, chicken, and extra vegetables. She thought the same that whatever the greens that they used were terrible and she pictures out as well. Otherwise, it was decent. Not a huge fan, but since I don't live in this town, I don't need to come back. We had salad rolls also that were exceptional. read more

We've now tried the Thai Me Up restaurant twice and can say that they are fairly good at what they offer... some of the dishes are excellent, while others are just so so. So far, the best dishes we've tried are Pad Prik King, Pumpkin Curry and Thai Red Curry. All of the dishes were ordered with chicken and they were flavorful and delicious, albeit a little on the hotter (spicy) side. The Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew were disappointingly bland, so I have to assume the fine art of doing noodles right is not yet mastered by the chefs here. The Original Wing dish was served hot, but some of the pieces were not cooked thoroughly in addition to being a bit greasy. The only dessert on the menu is the Mango with sweet sticky rice, but unfortunately it was not available during the two times we visited (10 days apart in late June / early July). read more

Food: Pretty good flavor. Presentation was spare. Overpriced. Portions are generous. Aroma is very good. Side dish (white rice) was bland. Service: Not great. Hostess couldn't tell that I was dining alone and tried to direct me to a table with a large family. No beverages were offered. No water brought to the table. Still, the waitress was not hostile, and I suspect she had a difficult day. Service was faster than expected. Manner was with flat affect, not very cheerful or friendly. When asked what she would recommend, waitress appeared confused. She did recommend a tasty dish, though. Came back to check in once, and smiled. When later flagged down, apologized and brought water Ambiance: Basic. Hard wooden benches with no cushion at a table with plastic table cloth taped to it. Country Western music played at low volume. Large screen TV depicting shops and marketplaces in Thailand. One plastic flower in a beer bottle at each table. Acoustics were echo-ey, I could hear conversation from a table 150 feet away. A single, large open room comprises the dining space, open concept, with benches ringing the walls and a few more in the center. Parking lot was large enough to accommodate many vehicles. Floors are bare hardwood. Decorations were spare- just a few strings of Christmas lights suspended from the ceiling. Beverage served in a hard plastic cup. read more

Super sweet family run restaurant. Nice clean space, simple and sparse dining room, but comfortable. I had the papaya salad, which was full of fresh, green papaya, peanuts, peppers, tomatoes, and slivered blanched green beans. Spicy and tangy with lime and fish sauce. Absolutely delicious. I then had the pad kee mao. This was a different version of this dish compared to what I've had at other places. This had good flavors, a little sweetness, and more sassy than other versions I've had. Still very delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. read more

Was excited to try this place! Wings could've been more crispy but that's hard when you stick it in a to go box. So maybe it's better to eat it there. I ordered the basil fried Rice (w. Pork), original wings, and Tom Yum wings. The rice had plenty of vegetables which I liked. The pork was tender. Often times the protein in fried rice is over cooked and hard or chewy. This was cooked perfectly. I could tell it was freshly made. The original wings could've had more fish sauce flavor but overall hit the spot. The Tom Yum wings are SPICY. I definitely get the tom yum flavors right away then the spice at the end. I'm glad there is another choice for Asian cuisine in the area. I'll be coming back. read more

Hubby and I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. It was really good, flavorful, and nice portions! We had the Crab Rangoon, Tom Ka soup, Avocado Green Curry, mango Sticky Rice, Thai Iced Tea, and Jasmine Tea. The restaurant was clean, and in a large inside area. The food came out fast and piping hot! I'm a huge wimp with spice, and they did a great job with making our meals mild! Hubby asked for the spice tray, so he could spice his up! Both of us were pleased! While we were there, people came for take out, and I think that would be a fab option too! The owner was so friendly, as were the other staff. I hope Seaside continues to support this local gem! Thank you again for such a wonderful meal! read more

Ordering on line was straightforward and allowed you to customize in an endless variety of ways. Pick up was also straight forward - lots of hand sanitizer, plastic barriers and masks going on in what is obviously a pretty popular takeout place. We got Thai iced teas which were the biggest Thai iced teas I think I have ever received - and they were delicious. Also had crab Rangoon - which was exactly as you would expect; pineapple curry with chicken, which was flavorful and a bit spicy and a bit sweet; and pad see ew, which had a great flavor but the noodles were a bit clumped together and mushy - might be a victim of takeout rather than eating right away. Portion sizes were large - enough for two meals for two people. read more

Best authentic Thai food I have had ! This place tastes like Thailand. The wings are amazing ! I recommend Masaman and red Thai curry ! The service was excellent as well ! The owner went above and beyond for us. I will definitely be back, can't recommend this place enough :) read more
Great service First time dining in in quite a long while. Usually DoorDash when traveling but only 2 options in town lol. I ate here pre Covid and remembered I liked it a lot. Shrimp salad rolls w/peanut sauce was delicious. The pad soon sen flavor was just amazing Reason I hit the 4 star was I felt my meal was well above average pricing in addition the portions was much smaller then I'm accustomed to for the woon sen. I was satisfied and full, but lacked the take home box for my midnight snack or breakfast tomorrow. read more

This is a must if you come to seaside. The wings are too good to pass up. If you think you can eat six... buy 12 cause you're gonna want more. The pad Thai is legit.. and the curry IS FRKN SO GOOD. Support this business cause it's one of the best Asian restaurants in town!!! read more

Don't be fooled by the sign. The old seafood sign is up from the previous business which was what brought us in. Then we realized it was Thai food but we said ah what the heck let's try it. Wow glad we did, the portions are generous, the price more than fare and the food was great. We got the chicken pad Thai which to me is a staple for any Thai restaurant. If your Pad Thai is good the rest of your Thai is probably good too. We also ordered the Pineapple fried rice which was also on point. And the Thai tea well it was a little sweet for me but still tasty. So next time you're in the mood for Thai food or you accidentally end up here, give it a shot. The service was great and they seem like a new business so I'm sure they appreciate the customers. read more

We were denied service at 8:31 (they are closed only at 9pm).There were diners waiting for their meal (food not served yet ). we were however asked to order our meal for take out which we were told would be ready in 5-10 mins. this was communicated to us by a guy who worked there. we checked with another person who told us that was a false claim and they allow everyone who come by 9:00. pretty sad service. expect to be treated poorly read more
I'm still wondering why Oregonians are such nicer people than Californians. :0) So, for the tourist like us, this place is a big 2 thumbs up. Highly recommended in my book. Must order their Thai Tea & their famous chicken. Their menu have so much to offer. Also, I think this place is family owned business. It's nice to see everyone working well together. Very authentic Thai food. Reasonable in price Huge portion Very Yummy Friendly Service No Tax Clean Fast Service. Too bad we're only here for a few days before moving to our next destination. read more

Good food. I'm not a Thai food connoisseur, so can't say with authority how it rates, but to me, it was good. At first the portions seemed small, but by the end of the meal, we were pleasantly full. So, definitely a case of quality over quantity. We will return. read more
