Our lunch and appetizer

It has been years since we have been able to eat here. So happy we stopped by for lunch. CHECK THEIR HOURS ON THEIR WEBSITE! We started off with an Appetizer Platter. It was pretty good but wasn't sure what we were eating exactly. Then I had Hyderabadi Lamb, my husband had Chicken Tikka Masala, with Basmati Rice and Naan Bread. The Lemonade was terrific! We will return before we head south in September.

Amazing service, and honestly some of the best food I have ever had!! Highly recommend.

if you're impatient/in a hurry, don't come here! the food took a while to come out. but i assumed that was because they're a smaller business that's staffed for a slower tuesday afternoon shift, and that their food is pretty freshly made too they also clearly mark what's dairy- and gluten-free, which was a huge help. felt safe here as someone with celiac, which requires very limiting dietary restrictions portions weren't as huge as i've grown accustomed to at most other indian restaurants, but still found them reasonable. the food wasn't groundbreaking for me, but also had no complaints! i almost never order okra, and thought the flavor was strong the waiter was also very friendly!

Was impressed with the expansive menu of Indian food. Chose to get the butter chicken with the garlic butter naan. They do offer refillable chai. Lots of tables. Oddly this place is only open from 12- 8 pm. They are closed on Saturdays.

Are they super busy? Will I need to make a reservation?

Depends when you visit Astoria. If peak season like the summer, you may want to make a reservation but any other time, you really don't need to make a reservation.

It was absolutely outstanding! Every ingredient felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. The rich flavors of the grilled tempeh and the perfect tang of the sauerkraut paired beautifully with the hearty, fresh-baked rye. The service was also wonderful and incredibly thoughtful--they noticed we were sharing and kindly split the sandwich into two separate plates for us before bringing it out, which we truly appreciated. The only downside was the iced tea, which unfortunately tasted quite watered down and lacked flavor. Aside from that, it's a fantastic spot. If you're exploring the historic streets of Astoria and looking for high-quality, conscious food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

My most recent trip here was in summer 2025, and it was the first time I had lingering questions about the service and vibes. This time, I ordered a sandwich, and received the wrong item. At first, I didn't think much about it, so I ate it, but then my friend also noticed they received the wrong items. The table beside us outside seemed to have a similar experience, telling us after listening to our comedic complaints to ourselves. The espresso was good, but, my macchiato needed about 2cm more of froth. I hate to complain about that, but, it's just froth, so it's easy.

IDK how a couple places here in the PNW have just bastardized pakora so badly, but this is one of them. This is literally just battered and fried veggies. ZERO flavor, no spice whatsoever. And it had a temperature option on the app and I selected spicy even though i've never had that option before.......this was the most bland pakora I have ever had in my life. Not the worst, but the most flavorless. At least the worst pakora I've ever had, had flavor. To top it off, BOTH of the chutneys were massively offputting. Not just bad, but like...ewww. Can't even top the flavorless dough with whatever liquid this is that is trying to pass as chutney. The chicken korma is actually spicy like i ordered! But again, next to no flavor. Insane. The chicken is nicely cooked but there's so little of it it's embarrassing for the cost of this dish which is unholy. I won't be ordering again.

The thirty minute wait had us seated right around 2pm, after the lunch rush had dissipated. We had a table just inside the door on the first floor, and the wind from the open door was a little chilly so I ate lunch in my jacket. I can't imagine eating on the windy little patio. And this was August 15th, summer heat, not! Our friendly hostess was also our server, and we got right down to food. First the ceviche ($16) which was shrimp today. Husband ate most of this dish, as I wasn't starving. It was a nice little bowl of chopped shrimp with some red peppers and lime. The chips were thick and rigid. Clearly homemade, which is nice. On to entrees, which took awhile because they are made to order. Husband chose the rockfish and chips, and I had the rockfish tacos on corn. The fish tacos were a huge portion, three stuffed corn tortillas with fish, cabbage, guacamole and pico. The accompanying orange colored (chipotle?) sauce was also yummy. The fish were smaller chunks but well seasoned. I also ate the rest of his chips with my meal, although the tomatillo green salsa was not my favorite. The rockfish and chip was three large pieces of crunchy battered fish with fries, tartar sauce and slaw. After the ceviche there was no way he was finishing this big portion! I took a picture of the inside of one of the fillets, so you can see how thick the fish is cut. No dessert for us, just settled the bill (3% card surcharge) and off we went with our leftovers. A good meal at a popular place can be had at lunch, with a little patience for the wait!
