Would I go here again while in Astoria? Yes. Service- Friendly The food did take over an hour to come out and it was not overly busy. Not the servers fault it took forever. Ordered- Sushi sashimi platter - 6 pieces of sashimi, 3 nigiri and 1 8 piece California/spicy tuna roll Sushi platter - 6 pieces of nigiri and 1 8 piece California/spicy tuna roll - Both come with soup and salad The fish was very solid but not the best ever. The 6 piece sashimi is 19 dollars and the platters were $23/24. The best value would be to get a platter because you get the sashimi plus extra.

Best sushi I've ever had, highly recommended the Pink Lady and Ocean rolls, vv good service. I made my friends drive this route specifically so I could take them to this Sushi place.

I've been to Tora a couple times over the last few years. I was just reminded how lovely the food here is. Having spent many years in Japan, I found the food here to be rather authentic. What a gem! I could not believe that the owners were not Japanese! The dressing on the salad is perfect, as is the miso. I had a plum wine- it was very sweet, but yummy to sip throughout dinner. The tonkatsu (pork cutlet) is delicious. (Ask for an extra side of sauce!) The sushi & sashimi options are tasty and the options are plentiful. The kids meals are also great, with a lot of options!

A decent sushi place to check out in Astoria. The service was good and the atmosphere felt good. The only concerning thing was a bug in our soy sauce, However, the sushi was good.

Yummy sushi, quick service, easy going vibe. They also have a sushi bar you can sit at, and watch them make your food.

CA roll and a Specialty roll. Great!

Update: 6/26/23. I need to update my review of Tora Sushi lounge. While I'd like to give them 4 stars, I'm sticking with 3. The disparity in different service levels and attention to detail is a problem. The Pros: Jordanna (spelling) is an excellent server! And the food - when I've eaten in person - is great. The Cons: The accuracy of takeout orders is random. Last night, I ordered $51 of food. I didn't check the order before I left. When I arrived at home in Long Beach, my wife's Tempura Vegetables were nowhere to be found! Great. I'm not driving back to get the missed order. And a phone call to complain was almost useless - no one seemed to be able to comprehend that I didn't get part of my order - the 3 people I spoke to kept thinking I wanted to place a new order. Ugh!

Great location and very nice ambiance!! Our food was so fresh and amazing. A very full menu and so much to try. We had the fried tofu, Pink Lady roll and shared a 3 entree bento dinner. I would have given 5 stars but our server was lacking in customer service and seemed to hate his job. He barely made eye contact and seemed bothered by us. Our tip reflected his lack of service unfortunately.

We came in at 12:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and were seated right away. Their menu is HUGE! I ordered the lunch special with two types of rolls. Pink lady roll-this was eel and imitation crab in a sweet sauce. Salmon avocado roll-simple, but excellent quality and refreshing. Our food came with a small bowl of miso soup to warm us up from the cold weather outside! We loved the decor and were very comfortable.

I was very happy with lunch at Tora Sushi Lounge. I got the pick 3 and had left overs for later. I picked the spicy tuna roll, California roll and the tempura mixed. I was super happy with everything. Service was also great friendly staff very helpful.

She was warm, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. She checked on us regularly to ensure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive, making us feel genuinely well cared for. We started with the mussels and Brussels sprouts, and both appetizers were outstanding. Every entrée at our table was equally delicious, and everyone left thoroughly impressed with their meal. We've dined at Carruthers many times, and this level of outstanding food and service has been our experience on every visit. It's always a pleasure to return, and we look forward to many more memorable meals.

The service was a little awkward and slow. Which was unexpected as fewer than half the tables were occupied. It could be that they were short staffed that day. It was fine as long as you're willing to relax and enjoy the wait. We sat by the windows and had plenty of time to watch the locals and tourists come and go from the market. The place itself is nice. Very clean and even upscale. I'd definetly come back and try more things off the menu. I saw a couple get some excelent looking cokctails and a mimosa flight, which consisted of full size mimosas. :)

The Grand Dame of the Columbia River Smokery, Astoria, Ore…read more - There are cathedrals of salt, smoke, and time, and then there is Josephson's Smokehouse, a cedar-shingled shrine on the edge of the Pacific Northwest where briny fog meets hardwood ember. Here, the art of curing is not a craft but a calling. Lunch is a liturgy. The clam chowder arrives like a maritime memory-velvety, studded with tender-cheeked clams, each spoonful a foghorn in a bowl. The salmon burger, grilled to a rosy medium, defies the dry, crumbly fates of lesser patties; it is juicy, lush, and dressed with a tartar that brightens like a lighthouse flash. But the true epiphany? The lox on a bagel--silk-smooth, brined with the precision of a jeweler, draped over cream cheese that yields like fresh snow. It is not merely eaten; it is contemplated. We depart with coolers stuffed with their cold-smoked Sockeye salmon-amber-gold, peppery, almost buttery in its melt-destined for Manhattan bagels and late-night toasts. It travels like treasure. Yet Josephson's soul isn't found in the smokehouse alone-it lives in the warm, unhurried grace of its counter staff, each one wonderfully kind. Against the coldness of algorithms, this is hospitality as rebellion. Five stars? Insufficient. This is a constellation.

We drove past this place for years, but last Sunday we couldn't get to the restaurant we had in…read moremind, and doubled back southward along Marine Drive, and decided to give it a try. It was a good decision. Note for fellow travelers: their menu is small. They are a smokehouse that oh by the way has a small dining area as well, which they call the Chowder House. Small can be beautiful. Specialization has its benefits. We ordered the chowder and smoked salmon on rye. First, the chowder. It's the real deal, slightly thinner than some, but not too thin, and boy howdy delicious. Seriously, its some of the best. I would say it's up there with Gracie's Sea Hag in Depoe Bay. It does not skimp on the clams, and is chunky throughout. The smoked salmon on rye exchanges a bagel for rye toast, but keeps the rest of the traditional deli staple intact. There is cream cheese, capers, red onion, and, of course, the salmon. (I don't know where smoked raw salmon ends and nova lox begins. They seem to be the same.) This is where we begin to understand those benefits of specialization. It was simply the best I've had. It was well smoked and tasted fabulous with the rye. If you have passed this place by for years as well, stop it, and stop by. It's good stuff. They also ship their smoked salmon.
