The food was also not well seasoned like 100s of past visits. My wife and I have been dining here since we bought our home in Seaside in 2015 and have always enjoyed New Garden Asian Cuisine's large portions of fresh food and fast service from Candy and her attentive staff. I have not seen Candy here in the last 3 months during 5-6 visits and I can easily attest that the food quality and service is "off" and we strongly suspect that this restaurant has changed ownership. Current staff claims Candy is on a "vacation" in New York? Consider us extremely disappointed! After our latest meal at what was once our favorite restaurant in Seaside, I will think twice about dining here again as our food was very bland and service was not attentive like it always was when Candy was running it.

My partner and I had the best time sipping and chatting with Quinn, the bartender. He was knowledgeable, conversational, and made a great drink! The space is small, with four seats at the bar, two floating seats, and two standing only spots. It's an intimate space with lots of Japanese figurines and memorabilia. Behind the bar sits a small TV where the bartender plays physical media (can you believe it!?) -- DVDs and Blue Rays of Japanese films. This is probably our favorite thing we've done in Astoria! Can't recommended enough! A total hidden gem.

It took about 25 mins to get our food. We all order 2 orders of chicken breast teriyaki, one order was spicy chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki sauce was tasty and the spicy was great. Your food comes in a bowl with steamed vegetables and white rice. Once you mix it up, the sauce tastes great with everything. There was not table service but the owner did come around and ask if we needed anything. Not a bad little spot to eat teriyaki in Seaside. This place is very clean!! It's a nice new place, clean and new. The place is a bit loud. You can hear people in the other section and the drink fridge fan noise was flowing straight to our table. All hard surfaces.so the sounds bounced around the place. They let as move to a back corner away from most of the noise. The sushi was very nice. Being close to I5 they get fresh seafood from Seattle. They have a better than average selection of seafood. As you can see in the picture we ate a lot. The bill was over $100 The booth was comfy. And the service was attentive. The location was easy to find and basically on our way home. I recommend moving the drink fridge and add some sound deadening items, wall coverings or something.
