Check out their happy hour online! It's great! This is a must try when visiting Seaside. They also have some fun drinks, in addition to sake, beer, and wine. It's family-friendly and you can even get happy hour in the restaurant! It's an easy walk from most hotels and Airbnbs in the area and you can make reservations, which is wonderful. I always get some sort of variation of a veggie roll and have always been very pleased with the fresh vegetables and delicious flavors.

The only sushi restaurant we could find in Seaside, we thought we'd give it a shot. It's located at the east end of Broadway. The good: nice staff, clean restaurant, and large menu. Oh, they do have a small senior menu for those over 60. The bad: nothing major, really. The menus are really hard to read, so have your phone flashlight ready. The sake menu is only ok. My GF liked the plum sake. They have a full bar. The food: the sushi rolls, according to my family, were good. The two teenagers finished three rolls without taking a breath. The nightly special sashimi dinner was plentiful and tasty. The tonkatsu was very dry and the teriyaki chicken too sweet. The miso soup was above average. I don't think I would return, but if you crave "Japanese" food, give it a try.

Despite being located on the coast and having excellent Google reviews, this was arguably the worst sushi I have ever had. As a big sashimi and nigiri fan, I ordered one of their lunch sushi platters. I could not even finish the tuna. The quality was not fresh and the tuna itself was sliced incorrectly. The piece was large but incredibly chewy and ultimately inedible for me. It's a bummer because the service and ambiance were very nice. I've just had much better sushi in landlocked states which is why I cannot recommend this place.

This review is for the Tillamook location, but I believe the menu is the same for all of their restaurants! We first came across Tora Sushi Tillamook when driving through Tillamook and noticed the "Vegetarian Menu" sign in their window. So, naturally, we slammed on the brakes (came to a slow, gradual and safe stop) and came to an immediate stop mid-street (calmly pulled over to park one block ahead) because ... we take our veg food seriously ( truth! ). The restaurant had a lovely, polished ambiance and the food was reflective of the same. While not a vegetarian restaurant, I appreciate the inclusion via their window sign which, ultimately was quite effective as it encouraged us to stop by! They have a lot of veg options to choose from (we verified that our choices were vegan as well). The food was very fresh, very clean, and definitely temporarily satiated my umami cravings, temporarily is the best I can hope for because those cravings are never far away . If you're driving through Tillamook I definitely recommend checking them out, or at either of their Tora Sushi Seaside or Tora Sushi Astoria locations!

My wife and I stopped into Toro for lunch on our way back home to WA. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Indoors is spacious and can easily accommodate large parties, including a private dining room. Seating can also be found at the sushi bar. Tora offers a full bar. Lunch menu is offered daily from 11am-2pm. Dinner menu is offered daily from 4pm-9pm. Happy Hour is offered daily from 4pm-6pm. While looking over the menu, my wife sipped on a Long Island Ice Tea for $10.95 while I had a Fort George Vortex IPA for $7.25. We shared the Fire Fire Roll for $13.95: spicy tuna, avocado, tempura shrimp, jalapenos and spicy sweet dressing. We also shared the Red Dragon Roll for $13.95: spicy tuna topped with tuna and avocado. The rolls were decent price but on the bland side. The rolls didn't seem to be rolled tightly so they were messy and difficult to eat. During our visit, Tora was not busy; however, service was slow and frazzled. Overall, not the best sushi I've had. I can understand the appeal Tora offers to locals and I would more than likely return if I myself were a local.

I've been twice this year and both times were absolutely lovely. The service is beyond friendly! The atmosphere is adorable and incredibly relaxed. The lunch bento boxes are an incredible deal and the food is delicious. TBH I'm not sure why the ratings are so low? Either way, anytime I'm in seaside, this place is a definite will stop.

First time customers. The lunch portions are huge. Relaxed vibe inside and the food was good, it could have been a little hotter but still very tasty. Very family friendly and nice staff.

One of our go to food options when in Seaside. Nothing fancy but lots of fun, yummy sushi rolls. Nice sized dining room with lots of tables, booths and sushi bar. Service is always friendly and efficient. Seaweed salad is tasty. Miso soup nothing special. Usually skip the drinks. Bathrooms in the back past the sushi bar. Street parking can be tricky.

Have you ever gone to the Pig and Pancake and ordered a $16 plate of slop, wolfed it down, and then…read moresaid, "Oh God, what have I done?" Yeah, me too. That's why I've decided to stop hurting myself and go to the Chalkboard Cafe instead. The difference in quality of ingredients and cooking is apparent in the first bite. It really is a bit jarring. This restaurant makes everything from scratch, and I mean everything. Yesterday my son and I got two burgers and our potato salad and coleslaw sides were like sides my mother would make in her kitchen, not globs of shelf stable Reser's food-paste that were made two states over a month ago and sprayed with mortuary chemicals to stop their decay. The food at the Chalkboard is real food, not fake food, which brings me to my next point, dietary restrictions. If I had any dietary restrictions whatsoever, gluten sensitivity in particular, this would be where I would go for breakfast or lunch in Seaside. Chalkboard has gluten free biscuits and gravy available, delicious GF naan bread made by hand, and gluten free versions of popular bakery goods made in their small kitchen from scratch. Even if you don't have restrictions you can be assured that your meal will have 80% less total ingredients just based on the restaurant's ethics alone. They aren't taking shortcuts, they aren't bringing junk into the building in the first place, so junk never ends up on your plate. The service is stellar, the ambiance is charming and clean. You're out of excuses. You were wondering where you should go to eat, and now you know. Go to the restaurant where the locals take their own families - the Chalkboard Cafe.

But I didn't care too much for the flavor. Genuinely not good. And the cream cheese it came with, zero flavor, which was easily remedied by adding my own salt. She suggested the beef medallions with mushrooms, so we got that, as well as the house lasagna. Both were absolutely delicious! Lasagna is his all time favorite - and what his mother would have made him if we had been able to make it back East for his birthday, (but we got stormed out). I was thrilled that he thought this was just as good. I don't do mushrooms but can maneuver my way around them (which means picking them out at putting them on my boyfriends plate). The restaurant is charming and intimate and decor very much takes you from Seaside, OR to any small town in Italy (or Little Italy in NYC). Maria was our server (according to the receipt) and she was awesome! She was personable, and spent time visiting with us and telling us the history of the restaurant. She also helped me be sneaky and hid the little birthday cake I snuck in my bag and hid it in back, then had brought it out later; adding a bunch of ice cream to it - and got the other restaurant guests to suing Happy Birthday to him. My boyfriend is fairly private so this intimate setting and delicious food, was exactly what he wanted and a wonderful surprise for him.

4.5 stars... well, let's call it four and a half with a raised eyebrow…read more Time's Theater and Public House has been part of my life since I was three years old. Three. I couldn't tie my shoes, but I could sit in that theater and stare at that big glowing screen like it was the second coming of Hollywood. From childhood all the way to 18, that place wasn't just a theater it was a landmark. It's iconic. It's got bones. It's got stories in the walls. I remember walking in one time and the screen was down, sports blasting on that big canvas like God intended. That's how you use a theater, folks. You don't buy a cowboy hat to hang it on the wall you wear it. Same principle. Now listen, they've fixed up the bathrooms . Nobody wants to change "historic" restrooms. Some things should stay nostalgic. Some things should not. The food? On point. Service? Solid. Decor? Still has that old-school charm that makes you feel like you're part of something bigger than just lunch and a beer. But here's where I tilt my glass and squint a little. Last few times we've gone in, that big beautiful screen is nowhere to be seen. Instead, we're staring at giant stainless steel beer kegs stretched across the back like industrial art. Not everybody came to admire a 10-foot aluminum torpedo. Drop the screen, man. Let it shine. It's a theater. If I wanted to stare at storage containers, I'd tour a shipping yard. And here's the kicker we walked in at lunch, only a couple folks inside. By the time we left? Elbow to elbow. Packed out. The business is hopping. Which tells me you're doing a lot right. I just think when you've got that kind of space and that kind of history, you let the screen fly. Give the people the ambiance. Don't buzzkill the magic with beer tanks. I love the place. I'll keep coming back. But pull that screen down and let it do what it was born to do. That's worth half a star right there.
