Hard to grade, but I've had so many great Thai meals in Seattle that got 4 stars that it didn't feel right to leave anything more than 3, even though the meal was pretty good. We warmed up with the crab rangoon, which on one hand was the crabbiest I've ever had, but on the other hand an order only came with five small pieces. We ordered the following: Phad See Ew: standard, good, but the noodles tasted just a little cheaper and chewier than those that I'm used to. Phad kee mao: my favorite dish, but just a little bit less basil flavor/ fish sauce than I would have liked. Khao Soi: Different than anything I've had before. A coconut curry sauce with thin rice noodles topped with crispy noodles. I liked the sauce, which was like a red curry, but I didn't like the noodles as much. Phad woon sen: glass noodles, with veggies and tofu, pretty average, nothing good or bad to say. Our server was super friendly. The prices were on the higher end of reasonable for what we got. Seaside hasn't really impressed me as far as the food scene goes, but Thai Me Up is probably my favorite place so far. read more

We've now tried the Thai Me Up restaurant twice and can say that they are fairly good at what they offer... some of the dishes are excellent, while others are just so so. So far, the best dishes we've tried are Pad Prik King, Pumpkin Curry and Thai Red Curry. All of the dishes were ordered with chicken and they were flavorful and delicious, albeit a little on the hotter (spicy) side. The Pad Kee Mao and Pad See Ew were disappointingly bland, so I have to assume the fine art of doing noodles right is not yet mastered by the chefs here. The Original Wing dish was served hot, but some of the pieces were not cooked thoroughly in addition to being a bit greasy. The only dessert on the menu is the Mango with sweet sticky rice, but unfortunately it was not available during the two times we visited (10 days apart in late June / early July). read more

The kitchen and service was off. I ordered a Chicken Satay and Shrimp Tempura appetizer for my meal. Other entrees for the table arrived. And we needed to ask when the other dishes it would arrive. Other people at my table finish their entree by the time the shrimp arrived, we then again asked about the chicken satay, which did not arrive until after I finished the shrimp. Stopped by here on the way out of town after the Corgi Beach Day. Place was empty but we also arrived at about 4pm. The building is wide open with lots of windows and natural light. They cover the tables with paper and give the kiddos color crayons to draw on the table. Our son was quite surprised when we said he could color on the table. The look on his face was priceless. They have music playing but it's not so loud that you can't carry a conversation at the table. We ordered one kids plate (teriyaki chicken), 2 adult plates and calamari as an appetizer. The food came sporadically with the calamari coming last which was a little odd. The server mixed up and gave my partner a Thai Tea instead of Thai Coffee but remedied it quickly and we got one drink free. The food came out hot so you know it was just cooked. My son had the kids Teriyaki chicken. He didn't eat much but that was more to do with being tired from our day. What he did eat, he liked. I had the Thai Garlic Pepper with shrimp and it was delicious. Came mildly spicy and was perfect for me. The shrimp was big and cooked well. Umm...what happened to the chili garlic wings?!? It looked no where close to the photo the that I posted in Yelp a year ago. First of all, there was absolutely NO freshly minced garlic in it. It was definitely frozen garlic that was on the verge of being puréed which lacked that fresh garlic flavor. The sauce was also REALLY heavy on the lime and not enough chili. When you took a bite out of the chicken, lime was the dominant flavor with a hint of chili's. I was absolutely disappointed with the wings!!! Their beef salad was also really heavy on the fish sauce. Pros: The food was delicious Cons: we waited for 20 minutes after sitting to have our order taken. Seriously, not even a drink order. The four of us each ordered an entree and then we got two plates of wings and coconut shrimp to share. My entree (Spicy Basil) came 10 minutes before any other food. Our appetizer (coconut shrimp) was the last thing to come to our table. Again, the food was all outstanding, but it's really frustrating to watch people text or concentrate on takeout orders while we are sitting in a mostly empty restaurant (3 tables) and not being served. A man who wasn't eating at the restaurant but sitting at a table came in and out three times without a mask on. Staff did not enforce the mask policy with him. One server (Clinton) was amazing and was working non-stop, not slacking. ten gold stars to him. A general manager walked around and asked each table how everything was. I have been by this restaurant last summer, but I didn't think much of it as you see so many Thai restaurants. In fact, I remember thinking to myself, "Wow, another Thai place, does no one in Oregon have vision to think our of the box and provide something we don't have?" Then I heard the owner's story. How she came from debt to a food cart to a restaurant, how then Covid 19 hit, and she was about to open a second restaurant, and she had to hold off, and she was forced to shut down everything but take out service. I read how she was working her fingers to the bone, and at 39 weeks pregnant, in labor, was at the hospital standing up with her laptop completing her grant applications so she could keep the businesses alive. So I stopped in. OH MY GOODNESS. This is NOT just another Thai restaurant. She has multiple types of wings, and they are NOT the emaciated pitiful wings so many places provide. They are incredible. I had ginger chicken and it was incredible. The flavors were intense and amazing. We also tried the spring rolls and the fried wontons. Awesome. My hubby had curry and it was some of the best he has had. The mango rice. Wow, sweet, delectable. I may have to file a lawsuit though... I'm pretty sure that thanks to Thai Me Up, my jeans will not fit tomorrow. I ate until I made myself sick. It was all so GOOD I had to keep eating! I cannot wait for the new restaurant to open too! The Crab Rangoon were amazing and filled perfectly. For my standard on Spring Rolls, these things were HUGE and fresh. The Peanut Sauce was very flavorful. My only negative is the amount of greens put in it, through off the ratio. If you decide to dine at this location please consider the following. Dine in is simply not an option. This may be a business whose owner has many restaurants. But it doesn't present that way. We came and sat down At 6:45pm. Put our order in and didn't receive food for about 30 minutes. And we only received my pad Thai. They however forgot my pork and didn't deliver the other meals for the table. By the time my food was eaten and I was done, the other folks food was delivered to the table. Almost a half hour later for the second entree and another 15-20 after that. All the while other tables are receiving their food and appetizers, and our calamari got delivered at the end of the meal. This restaurant has great flavor, but no sense of business or customer service when it comes to running a dining room. They don't have an expediter for the window, they don't have bussers or hosts. Their waiters barely stop by the table. The owner of the restaurant is sitting in the corner of the back of the restaurant and won't help her staff, all while chatting with some older guy. It's obvious they don't have the work experience to run a dining room and restaurant. They don't abide by the standards of food delivery and table service. Either order for pick up, or choose another restaurant. The staff also is clearly kept in the dark with the amount of ignorance to how the dining room should run. Look, if they were to give me a discount for the late food, or if they were to have the owner say something, or even just help their staff I would have given a better review, and if the experience was solely based on food taste and quality, it would be a 3.5 star review. However this was clearly the fault of bad management and terrible front of house management. If I were you either order for pick up (which is about 25% more expensive. Or choose a different place. Also 15 dollars for a well Mojito? They are trying to be five star without the quality or the service to provide the prices for a five star restaurant... The only up side was our waitress. I used to go here quite a bit before the Covid lockdown. Things have changed at Thai Me Up since then. The food is still "ok", but has noticeably dropped a notch or two. And the owner attitude seems to have gone south as well. I planned to order the Pad Thai with shrimp, but wanted the tails removed, as I was not in the mood for finger food. They said "NO". Made a large order and tried pad Thai, pad si ew, basil friend rice, their simple fried rice, pineapple curry and larb. Growing up part Thai and also eating authentic Thai food often has me shaking my head. The noodles in the pad Thai or pad si ew weren't fried in a wok but boiled and tossed in dark sweet soy sauce, had a HUGE dumping of white pepper on top that just cling to some noodles and made for a shocking and unpleasant bite. The pad Thai was dry and bland... oh so bland. The funny thing is that ingredients were good to make a fairly authentic tasting dish... there was Pak kana (chinese broccoli) that was over cooked and now bitter, fried bits of egg and the like, but just no balance of flavor. Thai food should have balance of sweet, sour, savory, spicy and salty all in a dish and these dishes WAY missed the mark. The pad si ew had the CHEAPEST cut of tough beef and was sooo hard, dry and overcooked that I was regretting paying for an upgrade. The larb was fairly flavorful and spicy even though I requested none. Missing toasted ground rice which makes the dish signature along with a good amount of lime and fish sauce.... also, no red onion but yellow cheap onion and no cilantro.... odd.... Every dish had TONS OF CARROTS AND TOMATOES added to bulk up the dish. Sighhhhh.... Even the white jasmine rice had portions of grain that were undercooked and crunchy. Yikes. Stick with whatever is HIGHLY recommended (which I didn't get an now regret sticking to only) which is the wings. read more

My family and I are on vacation here in Seaside/Cannon Beach Oregon and we decided to try Thai Me Up and so glad we did! This was a new experience for my son and myself as we have never had Thai food before. My husband has though. Everything was perfection and I couldn't get over how good my dish was. It was sooooo GOOD! The flavors were so perfect together! Everyone should give this place a try it! Our son has a deadly food allergy to tomatoes and they made sure to listen to our request and took it serious and was very understand. The staff was so nice and the restaurant's beautiful. If I could give 0 stars I would. My stomach did not feel good after eating some of their Pho soup with chicken. No one greeted us at the door when we walked in and we sat ourselves down at a table ourselves. The tables did not come with seasoning or sauces until after they brought your food, tables were also sticky. They don't have any cushions on any of the wooden benches or chairs either. We waited for our actual food we ordered and it came out after about 30-45 minutes. I took a bite of the chicken from the Pho soup; It smelled really good with ginger and some other spices, I was eager to take a bite. I was so disappointed when the chicken had no flavor to it, even though it's drenched in the soup that was super strong. After eating some of the rice noodles, my stomach started to not feel good and felt as if I finished doing 200 crunches, it was burning! I refused to eat any more of their colossal-sized serving of the soup. I still didn't feel good enough to drink some of my water or walk up to the register. After the people, I came with, paid, they met me outside as I was leaning against my car, holding my stomach, not feeling good. I don't know what was in that stuff, but it is not authentic or good food. The service was shallow and the place was practically empty (like 4 people, other than the 3 of us) while we were there, but yet it still took 30-45 minutes for us to get our food. I 100% do NOT recommend eating here. Wow! Everyone that visits Seaside really needs to visit this restaurant. The garlic wings are to die for!! The coconut prawns were delish. I had the crab fried rice and enjoyed every morsel of it. Yummmmm!! I wish we had a location in the Portland area. But it will be our destination the next time we are at the coast. Great location and they are still decorating the inside and making some improvements to the restaurant inside. Will have a Grand Opening soon. Very nice menu. Lots of choices and the prices are good. Before dining at this restaurant, I had never tried Thai food before. It did not disappoint! The crispy spring rolls were nicely seasoned and delicious and not greasy whatsoever. If you are new to eating Thai food like I was, this is the perfect spot to try it. I am only knocking off one star because there were some errors with my party's drinks and one appetizer. My cousin ordered the shrimp salad rolls but received crispy spring rolls instead. Our server was relatively young and had told us that he was new to making drinks, which I thought was pretty cool. To put it simply, he gave our party very generous pours (which is not necessarily a bad thing, depending on your preferences). I was expecting my cocktail to taste sweet, but it was incredibly strong. Me being young myself and not caring for hard liquor, I found it difficult to drink. To each their own, though. I'm convinced this is the best Thai restaurant in the entire state of Oregon! Who knew it'll be in Seaside and not somewhere like Portland? I've been to Thailand and honestly, this is pretty comparable! Honestly I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with any dishes here. We got the chicken wings, curry, pad Thai, and tom yum soup. They were all flavorful and you can feel the "wok" and flavoring of a good stir fry. The spice levels could be adjusted, which if you love spicy this is definitely the place to go wild! They did missed one of our main entree and ended up serving it after everyone's done and we were full. We ended up packing it to go and also got an extra dish to go as apology. Unfortunately this also meant they forgot to give us our mango sticky rice- but that's okay, because I'm sure we will get it next times! My hubby and I were visiting Cannon Beach for few days and we felt like having some Thai food. Since there are no Thai restaurants in Cannon Beach we looked up Yelp and found this place. We both ordered lunch specials: Fresh rolls for appetizer and pad kee mao with beef for my hubby and spicy basil with tofu for me. The portion size was as big as dinner and they didn't premake our food. Since they cooked to order it took a bit to get our orders but it was worth it. Both of our dishes were delicious and legit. My hubby also tried spicy wings and he loved how they tasted. For dessert we got the sticky rice with mango. It was yummy as well. On our way back to Seattle we stopped here again for lunch. This time we had crispy spring rolls for appetizers and Ginger pork for my hubby and pad kee mao with tofu for me. Again they both tasted great. They also used Jasmin rice unlike many Thai restaurants who use regular rice. The owner checked on every customer which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this place is you ever feel like Thai.
