Per recommendation of front desk at RiverTide Suites we tried this place out. Not disappointed, service was friendly, good amount of seating indoors and out and partially out as we were. Outdoor has large tables with fireplaces which would be great for large groups. We started with the fast fried Calamari, which was a good amount with both rings and tentacles. Wife had the Cioppino while I had the Seafood Pasta. The Cioppino was a bit pricey; however, was loaded with seafood and included some king crab which we had not seen at other places we have had the dish. The Seafood Pasta was rich and also loaded with seafood. Would certainly recommend if searching for seafood. Note: when we came at 6pm on a Monday we were told there was a 20min wait. We walked around the boardwalk and returned in 15 and the table was ready in less than 5min. read more

Finn's came recommended by friends as "the place for Fish n Chips in Seaside" and they didn't disappoint! The Cod came out perfectly crisp with their Honey Orange beer batter and paired perfectly with the same beer. NOTE: The Regular fries are much much better than the sweet potato fries. I hate to say they were some of the less impressive ones I've ever had. The service was excellent amidst the outdoor seating area with lovely heaters to keep us warm on a chillier day, though. This was a pretty solid dining experience. I went with a group down in Seaside. There was a bit of a wait because we didn't have reservations, but that's OK. It wasn't long. Once seated, we felt a little bit rushed. We ordered drinks which did not come for 15 to 20 minutes. We decided to order a couple of appetizers while we waited. We ordered the cheese bread and the calamari. While we waited, the waitress asked us more than once if we wanted to order our main courses. I've always had an issue with that. I haven't received any drinks or appetizers so I'm not ready to order until I at least receive those. She seemed annoyed and just walked away. When she did bring our drinks, she blamed the wait time on the bartenders being too busy. no apology just excuses. That bothered me a little. The calamari was somewhat soggy, but the cheese bread was good. Anyway, once we got our meals ordered, they arrived pretty quickly. I ordered the cod fish and chips. My daughter ordered the prime rib. My wife ordered the sesame crusted Ahi tuna. And another guest of mine ordered the cod burger. My fish and chips was decent. Not the best I've had but no complaints about that. My wife specifically ordered her Ahi super rare, but it was a little more cooked than she prefers, but still decent. My guests cod burger was good he said. Last but not least my daughter's prime rib was excellent. Being on the ocean, I personally would not order beef being from Arizona, but I took a bite and it was excellent. Overall, the experience was ok. We were sat outside under the cover on a rainy day. It took a while for our waiter to serve us and take our order, so we ordered drinks and food all at once. Once we ordered, the food came out relatively quickly. I got a BLT with a side of clam chowder and the BLT was good but the chowder was not great. Came here to grab a quick lunch on a work trip. Someone had recommended Finn's for fish and chips and it was great. Batter was not too heavy and super crisp. Totally on point. However... for the love of God please get a new clam chowder recipe. The two stand out features were tangy and grainy. Everything you'd hope for when biting into a lemon that fell in the dirt. When I got back to the office and talked about it with a few people every single person I spoke with said, " yeah you don't get the chowder at Finn's" so it can't just be my one batch. I feel a little bad being so harsh about it but it was truly surprisingly strange. Came back again for my wife's birthday (we came here two years ago for her 40th). The food here is absolutely amazing and fairly priced! The service is why we come here tbh! They are super friendly and very prompt when delivering food or drinks. With it being spring break it was super hectic so the atmosphere was electrifying but in a good way. There is an adult lounge in the back that has video poker and other gambling games, a full bar, plenty of options for beer on tap, and some of the best bartenders I've seen since leaving New Orleans when I moved north. 10/10 every single time. read more

We came here for my brother and sister in laws anniversary. We haven't been to Seaside before and went off Yelp reviews to pick their dinner spot. I don't like to give 2 stars but I truly feel it's an honest review for this place. We were seated in the outdoor patio area, which is heated (also very hot on your head so be prepared for that), which had metal outdoor like patio tables, not the most comfortable or convenient for trying to dine. There was some confusion between the host and servers, which resulted in us waiting 25min before I had to ask if we could order drinks and an appetizer. We were seated right in front of the bar and no one was around us. Yet not one employee asked if our order had been taken. After asking ourselves who our server was, we finally got one and she was great! She knew we'd been forgotten about and got right on it! Food service was quick and she even gave my brother and sister in law a special complementary dessert for their anniversary. We visited Finn's Fish House with a group of six. From the outside, the restaurant gave the impression that it would be a nicer dine-in experience, so we were looking forward to it. When we walked in we weren't greeted right away, although we didn't have to wait too long. The greeting wasn't particularly warm or friendly. We were seated at a very long nook-style table that felt a little odd for dinner conversation and we were somewhat squeezed in, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We briefly asked about moving but quickly decided against it when the server seemed a bit put out by the request. The restaurant itself was nice, just not quite what we expected based on the exterior. Food & Drinks I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a bowl of chili. It arrived lukewarm and wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese on top. The flavor itself was good and nicely spicy, but the temperature was disappointing. I didn't send it back since there were already a few issues with other orders at the table. My daughter ordered a rare steak with vegetables and a baked potato. She said the steak and potato were great, but the vegetables weren't very good. Her husband ordered fish and chips and said they were decent. One of our friends ordered the seared scallops, but they arrived more like a boiled dish mixed with vegetables. They weren't seared at all. It was bad enough that she had to send it back. She reordered the steak, but unfortunately it didn't arrive until after the rest of us had finished eating. She did say the vegetables that came with her steak were much better than the ones my daughter received. Grandson #1 ordered mac and cheese and liked it. Grandson #2 ordered a grilled cheese with bacon. He didn't like it, but I tasted it and thought it was actually pretty good. Service Overall, the service was okay. Nothing spectacular, but friendly enough. Would I Return? Probably not. This place is always busy, has an amazing patio complete with fire pits, and is in a centralized location in Seaside. We brought a group of 7 in for a Friday night dinner and, as expected, there was about a half hour wait. The menu is fairly extensive and seafood heavy, which is what we were after. Our server was in the weeds from the moment he greeted us and drinks remained empty most of the evening, which did not go unnoticed. Everyone loved their food, but my first dish (The Captain's Feast) was sent back. The seafood was beyond overcooked and was inedible. The Smoked Salmon Ravioli was amazing. Came here with party of 4. Ordered the steamer clams, ceviche and crab cakes for starters. Steamer clams were really good, broth was to die for. Crab cakes were expensive and underwhelming. Ceviche was literally nothing but cheap bay shrimp. I ordered the halibut tacos for my main with no mango salsa because of an allergy. It came with mango salsa and the wrong kind of tortilla. Before I could say anything waitress bolted away from the table. I think she knew it was wrong. We had to flag down another waiter after looking for ours for ten minutes, rest of the party had almost finished their food by that point. Two other people had incorrect orders as well but chose to deal with it as it wasn't allergies. Finally got correct order and I wish I would have just sent it back with no replacement. Halibut was almost non existent, it was more of a cabbage taco. The rice was gross and tasted old. The beans were bland. When our waitress finally did come back she said nothing about my incorrect meal. She actually became rude and cold, wouldn't even look at us. I had just received correct meal and two others ordered more drinks since we would be staying longer. Took over 20 minutes to get more drinks and she had become so cold that we were all convinced she might have spit in them. New drinks were left untouched and I left hungry. read more

Had the cod fish and chips at $23 for 3 pieces. They were terrible. Didn't even finish them. They were very bland with no seasoning. One of the fish was rubbery. The fries were also flavorless and dry. They look just like McDonald fries, but taste worse. The ice tea tasted like watered down tap water and the tap water tasted horrible. The rib eye steak came overcooked, but the waitress corrected it immediately. The second steak came back perfect. They were both pretty thin and not worth the whopping $47 price tag in my opinion. You're better off going to Nonni's for their amazing tasting steak medallions for only $31 with veggies and alfredo. We also ordered the Finns' Favorite Fettuccini'. It's supposed to come with panko fried chicken and dungeness crab, they left out the crab. That was $35. The sauce also tasted like white gravy instead of Alfredo. Also ordered a cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and thousand island dressing. We ordered it with no thousand island dressing, but it came with the dressing and also avocado for some reason? The fire pit looked nice, but you had an overwhelming smell of propane which is to be expected I would assume. The food is 1 star. The service was good/normal, but I'd rather go to a restaurant with good food rather than good service. I may sound over critical to some/a lot of people, but for me the food was not worth the price at all. If you want good food, then this is not the place. Who has 2 thumbs, settles into a seaside town, then wants a steak?!? THIS GAL!!! Ok, I blame the salad at lunch and the delectable cows roaming the pastures along our drive from Portland to Seaside! After checking out other restaurants in the very walkable "downtown" area of Seaside, we settled on Finn's. The special Steak and Scampi caught my eye and we were taken back to the lounge near the kitchen to settle into a booth, with a very cool, retro "fire pit" nearby, giving me 70's Chart House vibes(IYKYK). The circular copper table surrounding the crushed glass fire pit had seating for 10 on adorable, short vinyl stools. Great area for happy hour meet ups. But this was well past that time and FOOD was ever gentle on our minds, so we got to the menu - STAT. I went with the afore mentioned special, 12oz ribeye RARE, garlic scampi and fresh seasonal grilled veggies. Hubs selected a nice, simple Fettuccine Alfredo with garlic bread. WOW! Do you have any idea how unusual it is to order a steak rare and actually have it served HOT that way?!? Bravo to the grill master chef on THIS night! The garlic shrimp was also quite tasty, but the seasonal veggies were a complete surprise and a real highlight. So much so that I asked what they were called, "Googled" them right away and ordered the seeds to try and grow them myself. (Pssst...the seeds are still in my garden shed aka garage, but I have faith I will get them in the ground following the next seasonal LA thaw!) The squash was Delicata and had the most tender rind EVER. Slightly sweet, it was perfectly charred and seasoned. There was also a pepper I had never tried before called Sweety Drop Peppers (aka Capsicum Chinense, Pimenta de Bico, Little Red Tear Drop Peppers), a sweet, grape tomato sized pepper with NO FIRE. I professed my new favorite veggies to our server and she remarked she's actually, accidentally, ate an entire jar of the peppers cuz they're just so darn good. Indeed! ...and Hub's Fettuccine would have Alfredo's stamp of approval! You know right away when you see a dish label "Alfredo" if it's correct or not. Firstly, it should NOT be swimming in soupy sauce. It should be a light, creamy, cheesy delight and Finn's is just that. Meh. Finn's is Just the sort of mediocre seafood restaurant you'd expect on the boardwalk of a touristy beach town. It's all about location, so you don't have to try hard to impress with the food. It's really difficult to find decent food "at the beach," whatever beach you find yourself at. This is a nice enough space to eat in, with a heated and covered patio. It was a cold day, and the ceiling heaters really blast. So this was nice. Not much atmosphere to speak of, but it's clean and open. I also have to say that the service was prompt and pleasant. The food though, does not impress. I had the seafood Benedict for breakfast (should have known better). It comes with crab and shrimp, so I'm expecting something kind of luscious and decadent. Fancy eggs Benedict, you know? But the shrimp? Sad. Those ultra tiny "salad" shrimp from a pre-cooked can or a bag. Bottom of the barrel shrimp. Krill, basically. They don't even really look like shrimp. They looked more like dead sea monkeys laying there, drowning in a sea of hollandaise. And the crab? Just flavorless lump crab like you'd get from a can. I paid fluctuating "Market prices" for this "seafood", leanding the impression that this would be fresh, local catches. This place is mere yards from the Pacific Ocean after all. We have walked by here so many times thinking it was the place for younger people to hang out around the decorative fire tables and laugh while holding hand crafted signature drinks. In my day, the waitress ate the cost of that mistake. Sorry but she was clear. The Prime Rib was alright. The pasta looked a little soupy but he ate it all. The "Chef's Salad" was...... small. I felt it could have been done a little better and it was missing another meat and another cheese but he also ate it all and is a simple eater. My niece had a cheeseburger and fries. She loved it. Last two times I've been to seaside I've stopped here for their oyster shooters, I love them sm! I come only for them lol. And I live in the Seattle area so I know my oysters. Tonight my server was David and he was so sweet! Obviously it's busy due to it being Memorial Day weekend, but he only charged for me my oysters cause I was sitting along for a little bit!
