Talk about a great value. This location is right on the beach with amazing views. We sat outside and ordered some drinks and food. My bloody Mary was excellent. My wife and daughter ordered burgers which they thought were great. I ordered a grilled shrimp platter with cauliflower rice. And a cup of their clam chowder. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. Anywhere else I ever go on the beach absolutely gouges you.. not here. It was cheaper than almost anywhere else I visited in Oregon. The service was slow. We sat for almost 20 minutes after we were seated before anybody came over and asked us if we wanted drinks or food. If you're looking for a very reasonable meal with ocean views from your table, this it's a little gem. On our first trip to Cannon Beach, this is our third restaurant we've eaten at. Being a tourist destination, things are expensive here. Mo's is within walking distance of our hotel, next to Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site. Inside, the atmosphere is casual, with tables inside and on the outdoor deck. It was Monday at 4:30, and the place was not crowded. We were seated at a window table that had a wonderful view of the beach and ocean. No one else was sat around us. Our server was Aidet, and she was very friendly and high energy. At one point we did have to flag down another server for extra napkins, lemon wedges, and more water. For the most part, great service. For the most part, great service. While our choices were very reasonable, $14-16 each, the food was average. My shrimp salad sandwich was served on a sesame bun you could buy at any grocery store, and the shrimp salad needed more onion and some celery for crunch. It needed to be tossed in something more than mayonnaise. My Cole slaw good enough. My wife liked her clam chowder (better than at a more expensive restaurant last night) but her clam strips often tasted only of the breaded coating. The fries were crispy and seasoned well enough. To start off, service was full of personality. The ambiance was decent and the view of the ocean was immaculate. It was clear to me the interior had been redone recently, but the restaurant was a bit empty with only tourists and really old people...only to find out why with the food. I got the shrimp melt with a cup of clam chowder. The chowder had a very starchy texture and there were little to no clams to be found. The melt itself was alright, but nothing to write home about. The clam strips were all bread no clam, so even though I had multiple dishes with clams I didn't taste any of them. It was incredibly disappointing to have such mid seafood right next to the ocean. After a hike, we decided to stop here for lunch. Able to get a parking spot right next to restaurant. I would guess this would be tougher in high tourist season since it's right on the beach. I have only had Mo's at the airport, so this was my first visit to the restaurant. Restaurant was very clean and maybe recently renovated? Host stand is through a gift shop. We were seated immediately into a booth with a gorgeous view of the beach. Started with a Bloody Mary and it hit the spot. I settled for a warm bowl Clam Chowder and it was very good. They slap butter on the side to allow you to stir into your bowl as you eat. Also, tried a bite of the fried halibut and it was very good. The only item that was average was the garlic toast. Wow, I've never tried this Oregon seafood institution before but it was great! Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean while safely inside protected from the wind, yummy chowder and ceviche and piping hot Marion Berry Cobbler with ice cream. I thought the cod ceviche was especially worth it and delicious. The clam chowder was good but it is a little cream forward, which isn't my style as much, still really good. I always see people criticizing Mo's as a chain, so I was a little skeptical about this restaurant being the closest option while we were staying at Tolovana. Our experience was great! The employees were so friendly and attentive, the restaurant was clean and cute and the food was really great! I love the fries cooked the way Mo's makes them. The shrimp was amazing and the clam chowder was very tasty. We were seated very quickly on a Friday night when Cannon Beach was HOPPING, and our food came out quickly. Located off of Hwy-101 at the Tolvana Park exit. There is plenty of parking around the building and additional parking at the park just across the way. This restaurant is located right above the beach with stunning, sweeping views. During the warmer days, the patio seating offers gorgeous views - less beware of prowling seagulls. There are local, wild rabbits that frequent the grass areas around the parking areas. We always order the Halibut Basket to go. It is some of the freshest fried halibut around. It comes with your choice of wide and we go with the chowder or the fries - both are delicious. The tartar sauce is fresh and delightful as well. Plenty of seating inside with great views. There is a small "gift shop" area right inside as well. Order online and take your food to go and enjoy the beach views from your car or the nearby picnic area. read more

You're basically sitting right on the ocean -- waves crashing just feet away -- and the view alone is worth stopping for. It's honestly one of the better oceanfront dining locations on the Oregon coast. Unfortunately, our service completely dragged the experience down. Our waitress, Melody, came to the table right from the start with an attitude because we were still looking at the menu. The tone never improved the entire meal. Only when she dropped the check did she suddenly try to switch gears with a cheerful "hope you enjoyed everything and have a wonderful day." Too little, too late. To be fair, every other staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful -- this was clearly an isolated but very noticeable issue. Food: * Crispy breaded shrimp -- $12.95 Honestly tasted like it went straight from freezer to fryer. Pretty disappointing. * Tuna stuffed avocado -- $16.95 Not bad, but not memorable. * Cup of clam chowder -- $6.95 Average at best. * Coleslaw with bay shrimp -- $5.95 Surprisingly one of the better items -- actually pretty tasty. * Root beer -- $3.50 Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either -- especially for a place with a location this good. First in line when a lady opened the door, I explained I tripped on a large rock that held the doors open for the delivery that just came. NO ANSWER, flipped her hair (that was still wet from her shower) and walked away and disappeared into the restaurant. Standing at the "wait till your seated sign" for about 2 minutes a pleasant young lady greeted us and took us to our table. A nice Hispanic gentleman was cleaning the outside tables, was super friendly, was constantly removing plates and asking if we needed anything. Andrea was our server and one of the best servers ever! Very personable, knew her menu, specials and asked if you wanted an upgrade. She asked all her tables about upgrades. Beer was cold!!! The LOCATION STUNNING!!! Solid experience here, I'd come back. We came on a midweek day, spring, and gorgeous weather so i think they were caught shorthanded with a swarm of beach goers. KUDOS to the management for throttling seating (several tables empty) so that servers could give great service to the customers. We ordered the fried shrimp as an appetizer, you get 6, butterflied, nicely cooked. For my side I ordered the cabbage salad with shrimp; I know a little weird, but i liked it, came with a nice pile of shrimp and dressing. And it was just shredded cabbage - so I added a little salt. My bettered fried halibut was delicious, cooked right, the fries crunchy. Wife got the bread bowl clam chowder. despite me reminding her we agreed we didnt like their chowder. She liked the bread bowl ok, but the chowder again disappoints. Hardly any clams, thick and pasty. Splendid view of the pacific ocean and beach. read more

Mmmmmmm About 80-90% of those restaurants who do fish n chips get the breading wrong, and it's either mushy -- or rock hard -- after being cooked. Usually when the breading is rock-hard, the halibut is dry and tasteless. Mo's had the recipe right -- and the timer busy elsewhere -- as the dish was perfectly cooked... moist and flaky fish, crunchy breading, excellent flavor. Absolutely excellent. The clam chowder that accompanied the meal was very good, but I prefer a little more clam and a little less cream. Perfectly spiced. A small ice tea was $3.00 which I found expensive for the child's size portion. Fabulous and courteous service all the way around. I ordered the cod sandwich with fries. The appropriate amount of fries were hot, crispy, and had great flavor. The cod sandwich was mostly bread; and the cod was in bite size pieces; very difficult to eat without making a mess. Is there better food on the coast than MO's.... Obviously. We had spent all day at the beach and I could tell my daughter was getting to the verge of being HANRY and rather than making her wait for something in town... we went straight to MO's. The view is lovely, the bathrooms were spotless, the restaurant was immaculate, and they didn't have a wait. We were seated, had drinks, and food all within 20 minutes. The fish, shrimp, and clam strips were all good. Not greasy and pretty flavorful. I don't care for the clam chowder because I've had way better on the coast. Service was fast and efficient but not friendly. They don't ask how everything is or if you need a refill. They just quickly drop things off at the table and ghost you. I finally just laid my card down on the edge of the table next to the stacked plates to hint that I would like to pay. I would never wait in a line for this place but if you are a mom with kids that are a ticking tomb bomb, than this place will be just fine! An excellent place to stop and eat. We went two days in a row in fact! The clam chowder is superb and the halibut even more so! Lots of views of the ocean and would be fantastic to watch the sunset from. Service and wait staff were great and helpful. In January it was quite empty and easy to get in to. Indoors is large and can easily accommodate large parties. We opted to sit outdoors during our visit. Both indoors and outdoors provides nice views of the ocean. Mo's offers a full bar, craft beer and wine. The menu is seafood heavy as expected and desired. While looking over the menu I enjoyed a pint of Fort George Vortex IPA for $6.75 and my wife enjoyed a Dead Guy for $6.95. For our lunch we shared the Slumgullion for $12.95: 12oz of Clam Chowder topped with pink bay shrimp. The chowder was thick, hearty and tasty. The bay shrimp addition made the chowder even more enjoyable. We also shared the Clam Strips for $11.95. The batter on the clam strips was flavorful and fried to perfection. Our lunch was that more memorable from the gorgeous view of the ocean while dining. Service was friendly and efficient. Anyways we were excited for the bread clam chowder however was a little disappointed when the bread bowl was fairly small, the chowder was mostly full of poppies and not much clams. However the flavor was decent and it was comforting to slurp if down next to the ocean. Can't complain about the view I'd you are seating next to the window. We went on a fairly windy cloudy day so the white caps were amazing to watch while eating some fish and chips and a warm bowl of clam chowder . Don't go to this restaurant. The food is terrible and overpriced. You have to enter through a gift shop of cheesy merchandise, which was our first red flag. When we turned the corner to the restaurant itself, it resembled a touristy cafeteria. The waitress was a little snarky when taking our order, and the food was the worst we've had in Cannon Beach. The clam chowder was absolutely overflowing with melted butter, which turned the soup yellow and overpowered the other flavors. The fish and chips were more palatable but also clearly frozen rather than house-made. They also came with a limp side salad that was topped with a handful of tiny cocktail shrimp. Gross.
