It was alright. Felt pricey for the food. Had the beer sampler, calamari and key lime pie for $90. The server was very nice and friendly. The restaurant has some merchandise they sell as well.

Appetizers were the star of the show here. The onion ring tower was fun and had enough to feed my table with kids included. One of the sauces is spicy- didn't try the other. The calamari plate was also piled high which is rare for most places that serve it. Came with spicy sauce and a tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was very sour, not my favorite. I tried the hot honey chicken sandwich. The chicken is really crisped up. Not a big fan of the pineapple slaw that they put in the sandwich- that with the pickles made it more sour than enjoyable. My server was very kind and attentive. She came around to check in multiple times, cleared our plates, and refilled waters.

I stopped here and got the house salad with salmon made gf/df. They accidentally added the cranberries which are soaked in beer. They remade my salad. The salad overall was just okay. Nothing spectacular due to the limitations of what all they could have on it. Overall a good place to grab a drink or two. They have a variety of things to order.

Stumbled across this spot while in Oregon and it turned out to be a great find! Pelican is a roomy, airy craft brew pub, featuring rotating taps from local breweries and pub fare food. It is a popular spot for locals and perfectly situated near canyon beach. The restaurant offers a casual outdoor patio and expansive indoor dining space which is surrounded by a bustling open kitchen and sizzling pizza oven. Parking was a bit tricky, every spot in the lot or nearby was taken so I had to park a bit further and hike back but the trek was worth it. We sampled a flight of their rotating taps and opted for a hearty clam chowder. It was delicious, perfectly seasoned, meaty and a decent size portion. I would highly recommend giving it a try. Your taste buds won't be disappointed!! Service was friendly and expedient. Overall a positive experience!

Pelican Brewing in Cannon Beach is a beautiful, modern, coastal brewpub. It's so charming. I love seeking refuge at Pelican Brewing on a rainy day at Canon Beach. This place is a major tourist draw. Expect higher prices and potentially long waits for a table, as they do not take reservations. While they are a brewery, their ciders and sodas are delicious as well. The food menu is large, so there's always something for everyone. Stop by Pelican for the friendly service, excellent drinks, and keeps-you-coming-back atmosphere. The food isn't the best you've ever had but it isn't terrible for pub fare. Give it a try!

Pelican Brewing is a great spot to visit during your trip to the Oregon Coast. They offer an extensive menu of award winning beers. They also have lots of appetizers and full entrees to choose from. The wait time was short because of the large floor plan and the team was friendly! It's safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed my burger after a long day of exploring.

I had some family in town and we caught the sunset at Cannon Beach. Before heading back to Portland, we decided to grab dinner before we embarked on our 2 hr car ride home. Compared to most breweries, Pelican Brewing offers more substantial food options. We had ordered some calamari and steamed clams as appetizers to share. While the clams were good, I found their calamari to be too salty. For my main entree I had ordered their Crispy Coastal Shrimp Bowl. Everything about that bowl was soggy. Their rice was supposed to be sushi rice but there was clumps of undercooked rice. While their food wasn't as tasty their beers sure helped mask the taste of their food.

I've been to the Pelican Brewing location in Pacific City dozens of times, and this was our first time visiting the Cannon Beach location. We had a wonderful lunch here during a day trip to the Oregon Coast. AMBIENCE: It was a weekday, so it wasn't too crowded. But the space is huge: there's a ton of indoor seating, and also a number of tables under a mostly covered patio. We sat outside since it was a sunny day, and loved it. It wasn't too loud or too busy even though it's right next to the main street. It's a casual spot that's family-friendly, and good for groups. FOOD: We ordered the onion rings to share. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the fish and chips. To be honest, we had no expectations, as we know coast restaurants are hit or miss oftentimes, and the food is usually just ok. I loved the shrimp tacos! They were cooked perfectly, had a little bit of kick to them, and the slaw was fantastic. The fish and chips were good -- not the best in this area, but definitely above average compared to the ones we've tried (and we've had a LOT of Oregon Coast fish & chips!). SERVICE: We were greeted right away and seated right away by friendly staff. Our waiter was great. He was helpful, kind, and attentive. PRICE: The prices here are on par with what you'll find at similar restaurants around town for this kind of food. I didn't think they were expensive at all compared to a few other spots, but they're definitely not the cheapest either. This isn't the place to go if you want creative or high end cuisine, but it's a great spot to get higher quality classic microbrewery food. For our lunch, everything hit the spot. We'll definitely be back the next time we're at Cannon Beach!

Pricey for average food, but the Mac and cheese was really good. Beer was crisp, cold, and refreshing. Cool vibe inside. Service was good!

We had lunch at Pelican Brewing, which was highly recommended by family members who love the place. We got Calamari to start, which we loved. We then got Chicken Piccata and Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. The Chicken Piccata was good, we loved the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Pineapple in the slaw was surprising and I liked it. The fries that came with the sandwich were good. Will definitely be back to try more.

I'll be straight up. We came here on a weekday prior to the 4th of July holiday. And I chose to eat here based on the Pelican Brewing location at Pacific City. At that location, we loved their views, brews, and food. So we thought we'd give this PB location a try. The welcoming hostess took my name down and set us up with an inside table. They do take reservations by the way, in case you notice a long line waiting outside. We were seated within 20 minutes and served by Lyssy. She too was welcoming as well as helpful, as she made a few recommendations. My friend ordered the Tsunami Burger ($23.49) as a lettuce wrap, another friend ordered the Backyard BBQ Burger (23.49), and I ordered the Brewpub Cheeseburger ($21.49). Oddly enough, we all consumed it and said, "What the heck, why is my burger dry?" Were these burgers pre-made and just sitting around? My brioche bun was also dry, not buttery, but why does my patty have to be. We just didn't get it. Maybe we should've ordered their seafood items instead, idk. But unfortunately this was a "fail" on their food, or with their burgers at least. We never complained, but prior to leaving, I asked Lyssy about the root beer. She was kind enough to give me a sample that I decided to purchase a big 32oz can of it. Not only did I purchase the large can at ($16), but I also purchased bottles of their Kiwanda Cream Ale and Irish-sytle Red Ale. The two brews we love! When I got home, I decided to share the root beer and popped open the big can. IT WAS FLAT!!! Why? Why? Why? Overall, I debated between 3 or 4 stars, I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to give it a 3. Lyssy and the hostess were a 5-star in service. But the food and flat root beer were just a disappointment. It didn't justify the price. I love Pelican Brewery and their beers, but I'll likely choose to go to their other locations instead.

Stopped in for a quick drink and just sat at the bar. Service was friendly. The food looked good. The bar was pretty cool. I tried the Beak Breaker: Big Punchy Hops * Bright Gold Color * Citrus-Tropical Aroma * Inconceivably Drinkable. I enjoyed it.

This location is outstanding and exceeds my expectations. A party of six arrived on a Wednesday afternoon. It was absolutely packed though we got a table within 20 minutes. Though I will say the seafood linguine wasn't very flavorful and needed some salt or acidity to really brighten it up. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it my meal.

Are they doing growler fills? Bring your own?

Yes! Bring your own or they have ones for sale.

Does Pelican Brewing serve flights of beer?

Yes! 8 x 3 oz, quite large sized flights. They don't let you choose though, it's based on what they have on Tap

I haven't been there for curbside pickup, but I know the layout of the building and parking lot & I'm guessing they've made it very obvious how to get your curbside pickup.

I didnt look for seltzer beer, so i can answer yes or no. Sorry

No actually - the only televisions have beer lists on them.

    They do!

Do they sell beer to go?

They sure do! We bought a cool growler and filled it up before we left.

The only negative experience was with the guy seating us upstairs, he definitely had a bit of an attitude. We ordered a 16" half Almighty and half Margherita pizza along with a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad unfortunately tasted really old, but our server was fantastic, apologized immediately, and removed it from the bill without issue. Great customer service honestly made a big difference. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

Each beach town my husband I travel to, I spend far too much time reading reviews about clam chowder. If only I spent as much energy in other areas of my life as I do "internet-researching" clam chowder, who knows what I could accomplish. I must say that the clam chowder at Werner Beef & Brew is exactly what I have been hunting for. It is the perfect texture and consistency. It has a spectacular balance of clam to potato ratio, and the potatoes are cooked to perfection. They don't have too much bite, nor do they disintegrate into mush the moment they enter your mouth. The chowder itself was worth traveling from Rockaway to Tillamook for. It was even worth a more industrial view vs. an establishment with a more coastal and picturesque backdrop. The salad bar was on point. The variety of salad add-ins, dressings, and topping crunchy-bits were epic. It was a nice balance to the very rich perfect chowder I am already missing. I miss it. I miss the chowder. My husband also got the fish tacos, based on others' reviews and enjoyed every bite. I enjoyed their Dragon Fruit Cider, and he ordered one of their Meaty Bloody Mary's. If you are on the fence if you should order one, you should. You should get that bloody mary. The bloody mary then led us to purchase some of their salami and bologna. It was an elevated version of the sandwich meat my grandpa used with white bread, yellow mustard (off-brand), ice burg lettuce, and a slice of cheddar cheese. Mid-life has me craving nostalgia. It might be the hormone imbalance, but salami white bread sandwiches, here I come.

I did squirt a bit of malt vinegar on the fish as I like that flavor. The plate came with fries and coleslaw. I am not much of a coleslaw person but this was pretty good. The fish came with a tasty tarter sauce which I just used to dip my fries into. My sister couldn't finish the pulled pork sandwich she ordered so I had some of that too. The pork was tender and flavorful although I wasn't overly fond of the bbq sauce they used. I had dessert! Celia's Homemade Oregon Berry Cobbler. Wow! We left shaken and have not been back. How does a man who has never spoken to you, never met your dog, and knows nothing about your life already hate you -- and need you to know it? That is the question I am still trying to answer about this person. I had felt his eyes on me from across the room before either encounter, like he was waiting to be released. When he finally was, he came over not to talk but to deliver two messages at once: how impressive he was, and how little he thought of me. It happened on two consecutive days. The first day was brief. I complimented his dog and wondered aloud if my newly adopted rescue might share some of that breed. He answered with contempt: "Absolutely not. Your dog is nothing but a pure pit bull." He had never met or been near my dog. I let it go. The next day, his roughly 100-pound dog was growling, snarling, and baring its teeth at me and my mother from a few feet away. We had not interacted with the dog or said a word about it. Then he stood up, walked over, blocked our path to the door, stopped a foot from my face, and held a pointed finger about three inches from my eye. He kept it there while he told me my dog was violent, every dog in the brewery was terrified of him, I had never trained him, I did not understand responsibility, and he was no longer welcome. He delivered all of this in the same breath as a running commentary on how exceptional his own dog was. I'm no psychologist, but the shape of it was hard to miss. He was condemning my dog for behavior his own dog was actually doing. He was condemning me for reasons I still cannot name. And he needed me, in the same breath, to know how superior his dog was to mine. Hatred without cause, accusation by projection, and a need to elevate himself over a stranger. It was schoolyard bullying with adult body language and an owner's authority behind it. None of it was true. My dog is a three-day-old rescue still learning that the world is safe. He is not aggressive. He has never in his life attacked another dog. He comes from trauma and is finally somewhere he is loved. At Root and Rye there was no incident -- no bad behavior, nothing close to violent. Dogs frolicked. They respected each other's space. They were warm to him. All afternoon the manager on duty came by our table to pet him, ask about him, and show real interest. Families came over to say hello. Four children crouched down to let him kiss their faces. No dog had a problem with him. No person had a problem with him. The owner's boyfriend was the only one in the room with a problem -- and the problem was not us. His natural tendency appears to be to find a target and terrorize them with insults and abuse. We were simply the ones in front of him that day. My mother later told me that was the moment she felt unsafe. I did not know what he was going to do next. We left and did not come back. The question that stayed with us after we left was not whether he was rude or unprofessional. It was whether he was dangerous, and if so, in what way. I still do not know the answer. This is otherwise a nice place. That is why this matters. Someone connected to ownership is using that position to walk up to people he does not know and unload contempt he could not possibly have earned. The owner's boyfriend gives Root and Rye an unhealthy, dark, creepy vibe that is completely unnecessary to a brewery this otherwise lovely. To the owner, if you are reading this -- you can do better, sister. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend going, particularly with a dog, and particularly with anyone you would not want cornered by an angry stranger with a finger in their face.
