This is a very casual, mostly locals, brewery and restaurant. I have eaten here a number of times, both for breakfast and dinner. I have gotten the breakfast burrito when having breakfast and would characterize it as large, yet underwhelming in taste. None of the beers that i have tried are particularly memorable, but they are very drinkable. The service is courteous and they strive to keep the tables clean. The ordering here is done at the counter and I have found this to be a great way of taking orders in a casual establishment. This allows one to peruse the menu at a table at one's own speed, then walk up to the counter to ask any questions about the menu and then place the order. My experiences have been that the employee at the register has always been patient, informative and respectful. They bring your order to your table when it is ready. My experience is that they give you a conservative estimate of the time for preparing and the real time has been shorter. Note that I think they do a good job with turnaround times given how many customers are in the restaurant combined with their apparent significant take-out business. My dinner experiences have been very satisfying and that is what one would expect from a meat purveyor. However, they do not fumble the ball on the execution. Casual food, but tasty. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating: plenty of both. Part of the outside seating is heated and covered during much of the year. I have never been there when you could not choose a table. I think a great casual stop, and a unique one, when visiting the Tillamook area. read more

As a self proclaimed clam chowder connoisseur I take the hunt for delicious clam chowder throughout the PNW coastal area very seriously. Each beach town my husband I travel to, I spend far too much time reading reviews about clam chowder. If only I spent as much energy in other areas of my life as I do "internet-researching" clam chowder, who knows what I could accomplish. I must say that the clam chowder at Werner Beef & Brew is exactly what I have been hunting for. It is the perfect texture and consistency. It has a spectacular balance of clam to potato ratio, and the potatoes are cooked to perfection. They don't have too much bite, nor do they disintegrate into mush the moment they enter your mouth. The chowder itself was worth traveling from Rockaway to Tillamook for. It was even worth a more industrial view vs. an establishment with a more coastal and picturesque backdrop. The salad bar was on point. The variety of salad add-ins, dressings, and topping crunchy-bits were epic. It was a nice balance to the very rich perfect chowder I am already missing. I miss it. I miss the chowder. My husband also got the fish tacos, based on others' reviews and enjoyed every bite. I enjoyed their Dragon Fruit Cider, and he ordered one of their Meaty Bloody Mary's. If you are on the fence if you should order one, you should. You should get that bloody mary. The bloody mary then led us to purchase some of their salami and bologna. It was an elevated version of the sandwich meat my grandpa used with white bread, yellow mustard (off-brand), ice burg lettuce, and a slice of cheddar cheese. Mid-life has me craving nostalgia. Buried in what looks like a trucker station somewhere in rural Texas, Werner Beef & Brew is in fact one of Tillamook's most well-known restaurants. Since the city barely has over 5,000 people (#1), it would be safe to assume the majority of their daily crowds are tourists. However since the food and the service is so good, it would also be a mistake to pass this place up. The industrial feel and warehouse looking premises make the location easier to miss than most. The massive American flag gives off serious Texas vibes. Once in the parking lot, the place is reminiscent of a modern brewery, with ample indoor and outdoor seating options. Step up to the counter and make an order and food will be brought directly to the table. Their simple but robust menu is centered around their craft beer and a hearty selection of tacos, burgers, sandwiches, and daily dinner specials of ribeye steak and salmon. They have themed nights Taco Tuesday ($2 off all tacos) as well as live music on Fridays. The clam chowder has to be one of the best I've had in Oregon. It is creamy, wonderfully seasoned, and addicting with every bite. The chunks of potato were nearly perfect and nearly overtook the clams on the tasty scale. It was so good that I ended up ordering two more bowls for the road and to indulge again post food coma. The fish tacos were also a surprisingly excellent option. While the cuts of fish were not the largest, they were certainly among the tastiest. The cilantro crema has a really nice kick and the combination of the tortilla, mini slice of avocdao, and slaw made for a nice bite. Their baked potato skin were the perfect crunchy and salty appetizer. The hearty chili with the frito lay chips were also excellent. While I appreciate the portion of the in-house potato salad which includes chunks of bologna, it was their by far their most lackluster dish. The condiment station includes ranch, which is genius. A big shout out to their pellet ice machine; a true highlight for all cold drinks lovers. Perhaps the biggest highlight of all was their exemplary customer service. The young staff was on it in terms of offering quality suggestions, diligent about keeping the bathrooms clean, and bussing tables quickly to keep the flow of people going. They were professional and super friendly. I am sure I'll find myself in Tillamook again in the near future. Huge place with tons of options. Staff was incredibly nice. Order at the front counter and they bring the food to your table. They accidentally brought my husbands food to the wrong table. But they remade it immediately AND refunded his portion of our bill without us even asking them to, they also apologized several times. The food came out hot and fresh. I ordered the chicken sandwich. The veggies were fresh and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. The fries were hot, crisp, and the insides were fluffy and seasoned with salt. My husband got a burger with waffle fries. He enjoyed how fresh the bun was. He says the meat was cooked and seasoned well. He also enjoyed the waffle fries. I love the self serve area. The ice was little pellets that just makes your drink taste better. I had water and rootbeer. The condiment section was clean, cups provided for our sauces, the utensils were stocked full. We recently learned of Beef & Brews from a friend, so while in Tillamook we stopped in and are glad we did. This place is tucked in off the main drag but the food and prices are well worth the search. Actually Google Maps took us right there. It's not hard to find and there is plenty of parking. The menu is extensive and the food is delicious. The portions are very amazing too. I tried the clam chowder and have to say it is one of the top chowders I have ever eaten and I have tried a lot of clam chowders. My wife had a French dip sandwich, they do not skimp on the beef. Pricing is very reasonable also. This is not fast food but quick service is definitely a priority here. Can't wait for our next trip to Tillamook to eat at Beef & Brews. Stopped here before a game for a quick bite real quick. It was sunny and beautiful so I grabbed a spot outside in the sun. I ordered the pretzel inside and I also ordered a hazy. I was a little disappointed in the fact that there were only like 5 beers to choose from on tap, but it at least was a good beer. When they delivered my pretzel to the table I was amazed by how big it was. It was definitely a shareable appetizer. However, the cheese sauce left a lot to be desired. It tasted exactly like Tostitos Queso from a jar that you buy in the chip isle at the store. It's fine, but not what I would like to dip my pretzel in. The food is good as is the beer; however, we asked to turn the TV to the ducks game and the person we asked didn't speaker English ... so, he sent his female out and we asked her the same ... she didn't understand ... above all else, the teen behind the register witnessed our inquiry and did NOTHING. We usually stay at a local pub for at least two beers, but we cut this visit short and, honestly, almost didn't finish our ONE beer. We took a scenic drive to Tillamook and stumbled upon Werner Beef and Brew for lunch. As a clam chowder enthusiast, I have to say their clam chowder was absolutely delicious and really hit the spot! The burger, however, was a bit lackluster and bland for my taste, and the cheesy fries were just average. On the bright side, the sausage was flavorful and a nice addition to the meal. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in for a bowl of that chowder! The also have a variety of sandwiches, salads and desserts. Went here for the first time and not likely to come back. Ordered a burger and Bloody Mary. The employee who took my order said they were out of celery. I said that's fine. Burger came out less than 5 minutes later with no drink. The person who brought food mumbled something about looking for celery. Weird, I thought they were out? I didn't have high hopes for the food. I like warm food, and it coming out so fast is always an indication that it's lukewarm at best. Burger and tots were both lukewarm. Blah. It's a shame, burger had good flavor. I ate it all slowly waiting for my drink to come. I finished the food, still no drink. Went to counter and asked, was told they're still working on it. How long does it take to make a Bloody Mary??Waited another 5 minutes past time I finished food. Still no drink. I'm over it. Walked up to get a refund and had to interrupt two employees playing grab ass. Saw my finished Bloody Mary on the counter behind them, lord knows how long it had been sitting there. Werner Beef & Brew is located in an industrial section of Tillamook in a large manufacturing building. There was plenty of parking space and a larger outdoor dining area, but we chose to eat inside since it a bit windy outside. The restaurant has a deli, meat counter,with plenty of tables inside for indoor seating. When we arrived, we were given menus and told to pick a table and when we were ready to order to come back and order at the counter. You pay for what you order each time you order something. My husband got the brown ale and I had the blonde lager. We also ordered the large pretzel appetizer. That was the biggest pretzel we have ever gotten anywhere! It was served on a large platter and it was definitely more than two people could possibly eat and still have any room for an entree. It was probably more suitable for four to six persons to share. The pretzel was very served hot from the oven and it came with a spicy cheese dip made at the local Tillamook cheese factory. We enjoyed what we could eat of it. I ordered the fish tacos since it was $2 off on Taco Tuesday. My husband ordered the Mook Burger but without a bun. The fish tacos were tasty, but a somewhat skimpy with the fish. They were served with tortilla chips with a small amount of fresh salsa drizzled over them. My husband's burger without the bun was presented exactly as it would have been layered inside of a bun. He said the burger was good, but lacked a good burger flavor. The tater tots which came with it were crispy, hot, and delicious. The brown ale and the blonde lager were better beers than the IPA we had with our entrees--all drinkable but just average. We bought a package of Ken's pepperoni sticks from the deli before we left. We tried the those a couple of days later and they were okay but definitely needed more spices. Overall, we had an okay dining experience at Werner Beef & Brew. We may go back again. read more

I personally did not like my food. I got the chicken Al pastor tacos and I thought the chicken tasted really rubbery and chewy. I'm a huge texture person so I did not even finish half of one taco. The rest of my family loved their food so I'm afraid I just ordered the wrong thing for myself. I also got a jalapeño margarita and I felt like it could have been much spicier. We were planning on visiting the Tillamook Creamery and from past experiences, knew it would be swarming with tourists and children so looked into this option and pleasantly surprised. It's a shop and brewpub. Order at the counter, tell them table you'll be seated and food comes out, hot and delicious. I got tri tip sandwich with tots, hubby got French dip with tots. Both were delicious. Cannot got wrong with well cooked meat and crispy tots. We ended up buying some ribeye from butcher. It is beautifully marbled. After Yelping for lunch, we discovered Werner Beef and Brew! It took a while to get here as the directions were unclear with this industrial complex location. Once here, parking the car in the clean & spacious area was easy, ordering at the counter was cake and table or counter seating both inside and out was plentiful. All four of us ordered burgers that were thick, juicy & fresh 1/3 pound beef patties that except for my brewer burger, were dripping with Tillamook cheddar. Inside each was the whole garden, onions tomatoes, lettuce and pickles sided with choice of fries or tater tots! My fresh cut fries were tasty enough though the majority were short crispy chunks which cost them a star in this review. Not the greatest first impression, but the food was pretty good. We noticed Werner on the map but had never been by there, turns out it's a bit hidden. They've got a smaller inside dining area but a large outdoor patio. We were greeted and shown to a table, told once we decided what we wanted to head up to the register to place the order and pay. We did just that, ordering a burger and French dip to split, as well as a soda and beer. We were given the soda cup and told the beer would be brought to the table. After waiting a bit and noticing others with their beers who were still awaiting food, my husband went up to the counter to inquire about his brew...they apologized and said "they didn't know where we were but they'd bring it right over". A minute later an employee delivered it and stated "sorry, they couldn't find us". Strange...did ya just give up? After seeing that finding tables was maybe an issue, we started watching as food was delivered to tables. We caught glimpse of what looked like our meals heading out to the patio, watched as they approached a couple of tables trying to find the right customers outside and were turned away. As she reentered the inside dining area we waved our arms around but she walked straight back to the kitchen with our food. A bit frustrated now, my husband walked up to the kitchen counter to let them know the food they'd been carrying around was probably ours...it was. Quite odd. We assumed maybe there was a fail at order taking? Maybe our table wasn't noted so no one knew where our items were to go? No matter the reason, apparently we wouldn't have gotten our beer OR meals if we hadn't been watchful and went after it ourselves. Definitely an area in need of improvement. As for the food, the burger was pretty tasty and a good size. The French dip was just okay, fries and tots typical. My husband really enjoyed their beer. The place is nice...and honestly I really like the concept of the order and pay instead of full table service...as long as they've got their processes down that is. I had the Werner burger which has two patties and comes with fries or tater tots. Everything was solid good. It is a large serving of food and was easily larger enough to share with another person. They also have a salad bar. They have their service down. It is relative fast and easy. You order at the counter, but have your table picked out beforehand because they want the number for the table when you order (all tables have different numbers on them). While they are a brewery, they also have good options for wine. They sell some of their products in the same area as the restaurant. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. read more

After turning around a few times and looking up the place on Google Maps we finally figured out the location. Signage is very unclear from the road, but you have to drive across the railroad tracks through the gate in the chain-link fence, which looks a lot like people are not supposed to go there but it's okay. Drive up closer to the building and you'll see the little sign and the covered patio with tables. The patio was nice, part of it shaded, with a rain-shield thing on one side and a heater so it looks like they are ready to handle most weather. Food was good. The menu is basic pub faire. I had a burger, fries, clam chowder, and loaded tater tots. The tots were my favorite (but let's face it I have a weakness for anything involving fried potatoes). Everything was cooked well, hot, with nice portions. Jalapenos on the burger are canned, not fresh, if that is a thing you are interested in; I had been hoping for fresh since those are in season right now. They had cake in the dessert case that looked good. We didn't see any staff when we arrived so went straight to the counter - they asked what our table number was, so we had to go pick one quickly. Definitely get your table first. They asked what we wanted to order but menus were not visible anywhere. The counter person handed a menu to my husband, not to me, then straightened up the pile of menus. I'm apparently invisible? I don't know. It felt like a place where everybody knows the right things to do and I was not in-the-know. Overall, "OK" sums up my experience. read more

I had heard about the food and how nice the establishment was... when we showed up everything I'd heard was truth.... The inside was clean and roomy... the ordering process was easy and the pricing was fair.... Table setting were great... I had a salad from the salad bar. The selection of toppings were plentiful with that, I had a bowl of clam chowder.
