I wasn't even planning to write a review, but I was delightfully surprised by my meal at The Horn…read morePublic House in Depoe Bay. I had the black bean quinoa burger and swapped the aioli for their vegan pesto -- absolutely delicious. Paired it with sweet potato fries and a hot tea, and the whole meal was just $21, which felt like a great deal. The waitress was really sweet and attentive, the atmosphere was cute and friendly, and I even had a beautiful view of the ocean and the bay while I ate. If you're a vegan who's okay with the smell of seafood being prepared around you, I'd definitely recommend stopping in. They don't have a ton of vegan options (I noticed a vegan pizza, the burger, and a salad), but honestly I'd come back just for that burger.

It was pretty dead on a weekday, but like every place in the area, everyone was super friendly. The menu stated they had been deemed the #1 chowder in the area, but I was chowdered out so I went with the southern fried chicken sandwhich which was topped with slaw, pickles and a sauce with fries on the side. When it arrived it was not as expected as it had the same batter as cod would for traditional fish n chips - not what i think of when i hear southern friend chicken, but when in rome. It was okay in itself but had entirely too much sauce. I included a Pic of the aftermath, and I promise you that is only what fell from it naturally, I didn't scrap or shake any of it off. But the chicken itself was hearty and cooked perfectly. The toasted bun was soft and paired nicely with it. The fries were okay. We opted for dessert to go, a marionberry crisp. This was very good and I recommend it.

The grocery store has a good amount of groceries and sundries, and also some gift items as well. overall, the food was good. I started with the clam chowder. It was a thicker clam chowder, but it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, and they were generous with the ingredients. A very good bowl of chowder. For my main course, I had the combination halibut, king Salmon, and tuna. They were very generous with the portions. The fish was delicious. The halibut and the salmon were tender and juicy. The tuna was just a tiny bit chewier, but it was also very good. The fish was lightly breaded, although a few of the pieces. Were a bit darker than the others. That took away from it just a tiny tiny bit. But overall, successful. The tartar sauce was very good, rich and tangy. Instead of the fries, I finished with the coleslaw. It was not overdressed, and I liked the dressing. It was a sweeter dressing than your standard mayonnaise, but not overly sweet. It was an excellent coleslaw. For all of the quality food I got, the price was very reasonable. I would come back the next time. I'm in town. Thank you!
