"Adorable". Adorable describes everything about this place. There's adorable puppies that make sure visitors are well-looked-after. There's adorable little tasting flights ("little" is perhaps a misnomer). There's an adorable dock over an adorable pond. The servers are extremely knowledgeable and very good at making sure you feel welcome whether you're there to chat or just quietly sip, and they will (adorably) get very excited about their favorite wines. Speaking of the wines, they're quite good. In a full day of wine tasting, picking up a couple bottles at each winery, we had to get a full case here because the options were both diverse and extremely high quality. Everything from the port to the rosés were remarkable. If you're doing a day of wine tasting, this place is a must-have on your itinerary. read more

Airlie Winery is located right in the center of the gorgeous Willamette Valley, about 25 minutes outside the quaint town of Dallas. Take a beautiful, lazy ride (make sure you use your GPS!) that will help you to unwind before you arrive at this charming little winery. It is run by a dear self-made lady, Mary, a pioneer 25 years ago. She and her assistant winemaker and a hostload of amazingly loyal friends pretty much do everything themselves. Well, I qualify that. Once the grapes are picked. Mary is warm and welcoming, and after a great tasting experience, gave us the 50 cent tour of her small operation. The destemmer, the barrel room, the bottling area and everything in between. She has an interesting array of very good wines, many award winners. These were the winners for Mr. B: 2009 Mueller Thurgau estate wine. We bought 2. 2008 Gewurtztraminer, dry style. Not sweet, but finishes fruity. We bought 1. 2010 Reisling . Tart like a green apple. Nice. We bought 1. 2008 Late Harvest Gewurtz . We bought 1. Last but not least, her 2005 Port called "Nudge", fortified with brandy. We bought 1. Mary (aka saint in my book) donates the profits of the Port to her choice of animal and human causes. She was inspired to call it Nudge as a statement, to quote Mary, "...to nudge people to do the right thing". She also offers: 2009 Chardonnay, also estate bottled. 2009 Seven . This is a blend of all the whites. . 2007 Marechal Foch All good. If the perfect setting is not enough, you must meet her two gentle giant Irish setters, Riley and Rocky. Full of personality, obedient, and cleverly up to no good. As we were about to leave, one leaped into the driver's seat (oops, left the car door open). How cute we thought. Then realized there were (and I emphasize, were) some unclaimed beef jerky samples laying on the console from the day before. The little marauder was in heaven. You will not go wrong visiting here. And a wonderful place to schedule a special event. read more

What a beautiful location. As you can see from these pictures that are previously posted on here a lovely spot. We pulled up here yesterday and were pleasant surprised by the beautiful surroundings. The proprietor, Mary, was quick to greet us and usher us into the tasting room. It's a cute little bar set up complete with bar stools which is unusual for a tasting room. Most tasting rooms want to keep you on your feet and keep you moving. This place is quite a bit more laid back and easy going. They do not charge a fee for tasting and you may taste as many as you want and they make about nine different wines. If you do leave a gratuity it is given to the local food bank, which I thought was a nice touch. After tasting all the wines which were very flavorful. We made a selection of three wines and bid Mary adieu. The is outdoor seating where you may bring your picnic lunch and she says she does all her tastings outdoors when the weather permits in the summertime. There is a small body of water and a dock which takes you back to a simpler time or if you can't remember that far back, reruns of Dawson's Creek. Mary says one weekend in summer she has a campout with live music and if she adds your email to her email list you can get updates on the events at the winery. The wine is available in grocery stores as well as is relatively inexpensive. I'll definitely be back again to check this place out again. read more

Went here this past weekend as my first outing since the pandemic started. I was a little apprehensive as I imagine we all will be, but the staff handled social distancing beuatifully. First and foremost, the location is GORGEOUS. There is a little (man made I assume) pond, a covered picnic-like area at the "bottom" of their location. There are two parking areas, so there is plenty of room for all. We arrived and walked up the short hill to the seating area right outside of the business. We got a table for the five of us. There were other people there too but we all maintained our distance. The staff wore masks, had signs about cleaning, and did a great job keeping everything sanitized. Everyone was very respectful. This winery is very dog friendly. They have two dogs of their own and at all times there were at least an additional two hanging out. If you're not a dog person be warned, this place probably isn't for you. We each got a flight of wines, and a few got additional glasses. The women working were friendly, informative, and entertaining. It was lovely to sit outside, look at the gorgeous views, and chat. We stayed for about two hours and never felt rushed to leave. My bill for two tasting flights was only $20, which was awesome for what we got. (6 samplers!) They provide a card of all their wines and you mark the ones you would like to sample. I am not a wine person so my friend actually filled out all of our cards for us. I don't think it would be fair for me to really give a review of the wines since I don't have that sophisticated palette but I liked what I got! And the two wine "nerds" of the group loved it, so it must be good! This will for sure be a spot to return to again and again. read more

We loved this place. Friendly, beautiful views, our dog was welcomed off leash. Had a lovely time with a wine flight and cheese plate, both priced reasonably. Very friendly and nice Elizabeth explained all the wines and everything else to us, and we met the owner, Mary on the way out, also dog loving and so nice. The wines were delicious and we took a walk among the huge grape growing fields. There's a big pond and different areas to enjoy your wine and cheese plate. Highly recommended. read more

My girlfriend and I were looking for something fun to do on the first nice Sunday of may and we decided to go wine tasting. Being only about a twenty minute drive from Corvallis Airlie Winery looked like a good option... And we were right! The owner Mary met us at the door and was very nice and informative about her vineyard. Oh and wine tasting was free! The service was great and the wine was very good. There were other people there and everyone was very welcoming and good people. The outside veranda had a beautiful view of the small valley and was set above an elegant pond. I am very happy with our decision to come to this winery. It has a great small business feel to it but is still a professional venue. Can't say enough good things about this place! read more

My husband and I participated in an epic-all-day Bike-Ride Wine Tour in this region. We visited 4 wineries in one day, and this place was my favorite! The property is beautiful, with a man-made pond and a gazebo down at the entrance to allow privacy for big groups if needed. And, then up closer to the Tasting Room, they have another seating area outside, with covered tables, and that overlooks the property. Their actual tasting room inside, seemed very small, I didn't really spend a lot of time in there, but since it was a nice day, it was great being outside! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable! Talking to us about different varietals and wine making concepts without being condescending. I also liked that we were able to order wine by the glass there. SO,after my tasting flight, when I wanted to enjoy a little more wine with my picnic lunch, they accommodated that. Especially, since my hubby wanted to get a glass of something different! We didn't have to compromise on personal preference and split a bottle, so I appreciate being able to order by the glass, quite a bit! As far as the wine goes, it was very nice to have a diverse flight-- besides just "Pinot Noirs" that are quite common in Oregon. Personally, I was surprised, but I really did like the 2012-Vitner's Blend-Pinot Noir the Best. It was very smooth, and well balanced. I know that other people in our group also really enjoyed the Gerwurzraminer and the Muller Thurgau. read more

A longer drive (for most folks) to this winery, but worth it. It's located off a lonely foothills road in the Southwest Valley, sort of between Monmouth and Corvallis. They have beautiful grounds with a nice manmade pond and plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Indoors, the tasting room is smaller but well furnished. The owner, who had been tending to the place but heard and saw us coming up the drive minutes before we actually got there, showed us into the tasting room and proceeded to pour our tasting flight (which by the way is free). She gave us some laughs and a lot of info about the wines we were tasting. The reds are very good here, as they are in much of Oregon. The surprising part for me was how flavorful and crisp a lot of the whites were...even their blended white, "7", was some of the best white wine I've ever tasted, and by the way I'm a red wine guy for life. The prices were lower than I expected, however. Like I said, there is no tasting fee but they do appreciate tips here...Because all tips go to the local food bank. Right on! read more

When people ask for my advice one which wineries to go to, I always ask them if they want to go for the wine, or for the scenery. If the answer is both, the Airlie is my number-one pick for Polk County! It is breathtakingly beautiful. Lots of land on gorgeous hills, a pond, and several small trails to walk on. They are dog-friendly too, and it's the perfect place to take a lunch out to and enjoy some wine--several cool places to sit! The wines are good, and they offer quite a few. I am glad they have Müller-Thurgau-not many wineries around here have them and I usually get a bottle. They have a good selection of reds, whites, and blends. read more

What a beautiful spot! And dog friendly! My husband and i stopped into Airlie last weekend and had the best time. It was a beautiful day, and we made ourselves comfortable on their open patio and had our tastings brought right out to us. Service! Mary is a lovely woman, and her two irish setters made our little corgi feel right at home. We came home with two bottles of white wine, and i wish i'd grabbed a bottle of the sparkling Joi de Vie. I must admit, i think i prefer the Pinot Noirs down at Cardwell.... (not that i'm biased or anything), but i LOVED the ambiance, the service and the wine. Found my new favorite wine - Marechal Foch - at this lovely winery. Unfortunately, it's hard to come by in Kansas City, so my friend and I had to order a case after we finished the bottles we drove home with. Very worth it!! 2 adorable dogs hang out on the premises -really enjoyed our time at this spot. Brought our 2 rescue pups along on our road trip from Kansas to Oregon and they were welcome here. Love this winery. It's off the beaten path, has fabulous wines, reasonably priced, in just about the perfect setting. The winemaker pays a lot of attention to making well-balanced wines and they have several dry whites not seen often here in the Willamette Valley like Reisling and Gewurztraminer. The Pinot Noirs are lovely and they have another unusual red called Marechal Foch for people who like really big non-typical (for this area) red wine. In case all this isn't enough, maybe the best thing about this place is the location and owner Mary. Everyone seems to know her and people come out for the afternoon, bring a picnic, enjoy the scenery while dogs and kids play around the lake/pond.
