We made a visit to Left Coast on our Oregon vineyard trip. The wait staff, specifically the waitress serving us, were INCREDIBLE. I cannot emphasize this enough. She was attentive, helpful in making decisions, and very knowledgeable about the wines the winery offered. Even gave us good feedback whenever we were making our food decisions to not order too much pizza for our group size! The wines were great, and I was pleasantly surprised by several of them. The truffle hill wine - cannot recommend enough - along with the Bubbly Bee. I enjoyed everything that we had, but those two were big stars! read more

It was a beautiful spring afternoon and we were looking for a place to sip wine, be outside underneath a shaded patio and enjoy a wood fired pizza. We found it all plus an extremely gracious staff. This was our first time there and will not be our last. Highly recommend ! read more

Stunning winery with great landscaping, a small trail and the cutest winery cat to accompany your wine and pizza. Wine was great and tasting was affordable ($25 per person). Had more whites than reds, which i appreciate. Pizza was phenomenal. The raspberry Gorgonzola was so good I'm going to try to recreate at home! 10/10 would absolutely go back read more

My partner and I stopped in here on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The weather was cloudy and humid with just some light sprinkles of summer rain. I've been here many times before and I loved it in the past. This was my first visit with her and the first one post-pandemic. Reservations are requested now, so that was the first difference. On arrival we parked and went to the front. I recall the front tasting hall as a combination sitting area and store front, but it looked like a restaurant reception now with more tables inside. There was also a lot of seating outdoors and an entire area filled with huge oak trees, wonderfully upkept grass, and many picnic tables. We told the hostess we didn't have reservations and she was as nice as could be, offering us seating indoors or out. It appears reservations are a good idea but not a necessity. Still, it's possible drop ins could have a bit of a wait. We seated outside and were helped almost immediately. The young lady was super cheerful, very knowledgeable about the wines on offer, and made us feel right at home. We shared a single flight, which was four tasters on a set menu, along with one "free" taste of our choice, red or white. We chose red and got a lovely "people pleaser" Pinot Noir. The wines all come from the vineyard and the waitress shared with us exactly which plot of land they come from. I'm not a wine expert so I won't pretend to be one here, but two things stand out the most for me with Left Coast. First, their 45' Latitude vintages are excellent, the fields placed in an optimum area for grape growth and you can taste it all the wines from that plot. Second, Left Coast has a hill that grows truffles, and they produce wine from grapes on the same area. These wines (I've had a Pinot Noir in the past from this plot, this time we had a Pinot Gris) are earthy and rich and absolutely amazing. So my partner and I shared a flight and our server was with us after almost every taste, asking our thoughts and getting our feedback. We raved over a blend of their Rose` and Gris, and while we shared our next taste, she came back with a taster of the Rose` itself, just because of our delight. This was truly unexpected and very nice to receive. We lounged for about an hour and never felt rushed or hurried, we enjoyed our wine and the scenery and atmosphere was great. We had a couple of very, VERY loud groups of young adults seated near us, who seemed to be enjoying their afternoon, and while I would have enjoyed some quiet observation of nature and wine, I can't really fault anyone for enjoying themselves and their company here. If we wanted quiet, it would have been no small thing to cross over to the oak glade and find a quiet picnic table. So I'm not cross at that at all. The patio is small, though, so expect to be near other patrons. We chose not to purchase a bottle for home, but made plans to come back and enjoy ourselves again for an afternoon. This was a lovely day and we had a great time. read more

We had a light lunch here today. Their chicken soup is to die for! We had the wine flight during this sitting. The wine was quite good, but the best part was the staff. Fun, and very personable we'll definitely come here again! read more

I was visiting family and was told about wine tasting close by. Rainy day and needed an indoor activity so why not?! Choose this place because it had a more substantial food menu, wine tasting and walk ins were welcomed. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly. We ordered 2 pizzas, olive bowl and a Charcuterie board. We decided on 2 tastings and my brother in law ordered a glass of Viognier. We enjoyed the olives and Charcuterie board, especially the pickled veggies. Our board was missing the salami and the pizza was a bit on the salty side. Casual, small indoor space. Kid friendly. Outdoor space is pet friendly. I did enjoy the Viognier but was not impressed by the tasting or inhospitable waitress. read more

We had a delightful lunch in this charming setting. The staff is warm and friendly and the pizza we shared was so good: thin crispy-chewy crust, flavorful sausage and mushrooms. The wine was perfect for a hot summer day (we had the bright, fresh pinot gris). The outdoor seating is a beautiful spot under huge, old oak trees but the tasting room was a great choice with cooling AC! Reservations a good idea. I love taking my visitors here and they are always charmed by this place. read more

Love Left Coast! Great wines and added food options. You can walk the grounds while enjoying your wine. Highly recommended.

Very busy winery on a Friday night. Live music single singer with guitar. We had a White pinot noir their standard popular wine. It was okay nothing to exciting. I also, tried the J Wright white Pinot noir. It was a lower acid better balanced wine. We had pizza $33 a nice snack for four people. We had a 1/2 Thai chicken 1/2 sausage mushrooms. Thai chicken was the better of the two. As Thai food goes it needed more heat and peanut sauce. The sausage was a ground up tiny grit like meat not the best texture. Location was in a very lovely area in the rolling hills of the Willamette valley. read more

Super knowledgeable and friendly sommelier (?) who never talked down to us. She made us feel welcome and part of the whole vine to table experience. Amazing wood fired pizza with cherries and Brie on one side and pears with prosciutto on the other. Sounds weird, but paired with the wine flight perfectly. Liked it so much we became club members. Left Coast Cellars is a winery. But we came for the food because it is also an excellent little café. Here I pause to give a nod to the good people at the tasting room at St. Innocent winery, one of our favs, where we stopped in not for wine tasting but to use the loo. We asked if they knew of anywhere to get a bite to eat in late afternoon on a Friday as we were famished and still had three hours drive to get home. They suggested Left Coast Cellars' café and an excellent suggestion it was. LOCATION A little tough to find, but if you have an up to date GPS it will get you there. The café is tucked way up a long road that takes you through 80 acres of Left Coast's sustainably managed vineyards. At the end of that beautiful climb, you'll arrive at a charming buliding that houses both the cafe and Left Coast Cellars' tasting room. CAFÉ / FOOD The aroma that greeted us as we walked in the door, of simmering soup and toasting bread and cheese and baked things, was mouth watering. Literally. There are menus on the table in the charming dining area. See photo. More items, daily special paninis as example, are on a blackboard near the counter. Paninis that day were two; ham and cheese with fig spread and roasted onion, and a vegetarian choice of tender zucchini and eggplant with goat cheese. We shared a panini and a bowl of the daily special soup, white bean and vegetable with ham. Both sandwich and soup were excellent, more than enough when shared to feed two hungry people and the total bill, with a cup of very good coffee included for me, was just over $15. It cannot be beat. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert and I didn't take a piece of what I understand is their quite famous carrot cake home with us because later that evening a piece of carrot cake sounded ideal. Next time I'll have the mac n cheese end with the carrot cake. See? I like to plan ahead. VINO Not as successful for our palates as was the food. The eats and ambiance are worth the visit. For wine, we think there are better options in the area. Including St. Innocent. SERVICE Everyone was friendly. This has a neighborhood place feel and we were made to welcome. If this was in our neighborhood, we'd be regulars. SEATING In addition to the indoor café, seating is also available outdoors in nice weather, and big pots of blooming things grace the outdoor patio. Lovely. THIS N THAT 1) Accessibility: Level in from parking lot in the back and all on one floor. The bathroom is not accessible. 2) Bathroom: The loo here is tucked into the corner of the tasting room and is very petite for space. It would not be accessible to a person using a wheelchair or a walker. I'm relatively small person (size 2) and as I closed the door behind me I thought a larger person might find this a tight fit. 3) Retail: The café and tasting room space has retail items for sale, bottles of wine included of course, to browse while you wait on the food. Including honeycomb and honey from local bees. We bought some wonderful honeycomb to enjoy with cheese (and wine) the next day. Highly recommend the honeycomb. 4) Johan Winery Nearby: There was another winery drive we passed on the way up to Left Coast's tasting room / café. Johan Winery is the name of that one and we think visitors to Left Coast may want to plan in a stop to their neighbor Johan too. read more

Cafe and winery. In a gorgeous, remote venue. We primarily came for the food, but I found myself challenged by our usual standards, i.e. sharesies. There were certain things I did not want to share here: 1. My chocolate chip with toasted coconut cookie. Made with potato chips and pretzels. Go figure. Does anyone know how to make this? Write me! 2. Tortilla soup. A richly seasoned, chunky, roasted tomato soup with cumin highlights and corn. Way too perfect for consumption. I am going to have to pursue that recipe, too. These will be lasting memories. But just so you know, the rest of the meal was quite good too. Mr. B ordered the brie and black forest ham panini on artisan bread, with a fig and onion jam, beautifully caramelized. The ham, so thinly sliced, was smoky and moist, and generous. The cheese and onion were perfect compliments. His plate was embellished with some good Kettle chips. Mine was the 3 cheese Mac n Cheese. A creamy mac, I only wish it had more sharp cheddar flavor. But it was still quite good, topped with toasted bread crumbs. It came with a baby greens salad with sweet cherry tomatoes, orange pepper slices and parmesan, dressed with a flavorful balsamic vinegrette. Generous servings, all. And friendly service. We left clutching a container of their carrot cake. Yum. The cookie? It did not survive long enough to get out the door. And the only reason I knocked my review down one star was certainly not for the food. Mr. B simply was not a fan of the wine. read more

We called and made reservations due to COVID and headed out: The estate is absolutely stunning and their commitment to sustainability and the environment is laudable. Enjoyed walking the grounds, visiting with the chickens and admiring the lovely oaks. As we were walking the grounds, my husband remarked "I wonder how they pay for all this??" We were about to find out. We walked up for our reservations and was greeted by a lovely lady who chatted with us and invited us back. Then I saw the menu sign: $30 for a 12-14 inch pizza with goat cheese, fig jam and prosciutto. Wow....ok...maybe it's superlative.... When it came, it was Nice but not that nice. We decided to get glasses of wine as opposed to a tasting. I got the Pinot blanc and my husband the Viognier, each roughly $12 but neither were particularly remarkable honestly.... the bottle prices were $36 and $55 respectively. I did not finish mine because it tasted of well, nothing. They did take it off the bill and I am grateful. To be clear, I have bought glasses of wine during relic tastings or from wine libraries in Walla Walla for much more than that but I didn't mind because the wine was memorable and delivered something special. I didn't find that here. I also tasted my hubby's Viognier and found it wanting.... there are much better Willamette Valley Viogniers out there for less than $55 a bottle. I think overall it's a gorgeous piece of land and facility whose wines simply don't match the surrounding beauty or the prices being asked. read more

Really beautiful winery with gorgeous grounds, and a killer wood fired oven. Great stop on our tours for lunch! They have a large tasting room with outdoor seating, they have a rotating menu, so yesterday was pizza! We did a wine tasting and purchased multiple pizzas for our group of 7. The tastings are done at the bar, but you can purchase a glass of wine to go with your lunch (which was what I did). The pizzas were delicious and everyone enjoyed the wine tasting. Our kids are members here and they love bringing our grandkids to the grounds. It's a beautiful area where they can run and play. This has by far been the best winery experience of my lifetime. The owners are on premises and make sure you feel like a VIP. The fresh pizza is very unique and outstanding quality. The wines were above and beyond any others from the Williamette Valley. We joined their membership which selects a half case every six months. The service was outstanding. The grounds are immaculate. The overall ambience is peaceful, tasteful, and picturesque. I had such a wonderful time at left coast estate! Thank you, Sue, for taking such great care of us! We ordered flights which was very fun. I'm usually a red wine drinker but the whites were not too sweet so I enjoyed them more than usual. The highlight, though, was the queen bee bubbly! There's some sort of process with their own bees that feeds the yeast that are little balls on the bottom. I think, I don't really remember the science, but it was freakin' amazing! One of the best sparkling wines of my life. We also got a couple charcuterie boards which was packed with tasty snacks and cheeses (the onion one was !!! so good, followed by the merlot as my fav). They were very accommodating to keep the nuts in a separate bowl because I'm allergic. Though they were out of the Italian meats, the turkey panini with aoli was incredibly flavorful and filling. The service was amazing. Sue was very knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive, and seemed infested in us having an amazing experience. The scenery is beautiful as well, I didn't know this part of Oregon had a big wine scene (I lived down here for a year six years ago but I was just back visiting). The estate is nestled in rolling hills and farmland with a small body of water as you enter and tall trees around the tasting area. I wish I lived closer, I'd be back a billion times, especially for that bubbly! read more

I was expecting more from this vineyard I think. The long drive up and the views...the tasting room. Everything was in place for a four or five star review. Alas, I just can't give it. I was underwhelmed. The ladies pouring were nice but I cannot even remember what they looked like. The wines were alright but nothing spoke to me. It was just going through the motions and although it was far from a bad experience, it also was not a "great" one either. read more

Went in on a friday to do some wine tasting and they had pizza available. I don't know where to start but this pizza packed the flavor like no other i have ever had. Their chef truly is excellent and you can tell he puts love into making them, roasting their veggies for fresh sauce. Different unique toppings, we had roasted root pizza ( soo soo good) and mushroom & sausage. nice & spicy. Went great with their bottle of chardonnay and had to grab a couple of those on the way out too.ALso did a wine flight to pick which ones we needed for lunch. All their wine is great. Nice place with genuinely nice people. 3.4 Stars with room to grow. There are several wine offerings with Wine Enthusiasts 90+ ratings. My first hand rasicism I experienced at this estate. Last Saturday my friend and I went visited this vineyard and experienced rascism. The vineyard opens at 12pm on Saturday we arrived there at 11:40 and look around the area. When the doors open at 12 we were the very first customers to be greeted. We were sat at the corner and received our water and menus. I have visited here once before with my " white" friend so I already knew what to order. We order. 1 bottle of the white Chardonnay and a pizza. After 30 mins I realized 3 of the table that came in after us was already eating their pizza at first I didn't think anything of it thought our order just got mixed up , another 15 min still no pizza and another table received their pizza. I asked our server where our pizza were at standing she told us it's on its way so I decided to wait . Now about an hour passed and still no pizza I looked around there were about 6 tables that were already finishing up eating their pizzza. It was ridiculous but I didn't say anything... there was a table that had 8 people and. My friend and I told each other we will robably get our pizza before them~ Guess what we didn't !!!!! I saw our server handing the big group Two large pizza before our table. When we finally received our Pizza it was around 1:20pm and we were the very last table to receive our pizza. I felt soo bad because it was my friend first time visiting a winery in America!!! And she also asked me is this what it is to experience Rascism I was so embarrassed... I still tip them 10% because because I didn't want them to stereotype Asian don't tip i usually tip 20-25% + My advise if you want to come here take your "white" friend!!!! Also they never apologized !! No food comp nothing ~ felt very un welcomed read more

My mother and I visited Left Coast for a Friday lunch, on a warm, sunny day. We ordered the special (locally grown salad with either brisket or pulled pork, gouda cheese, focaccia), and glasses of Pinot Gris and Latitude 45 Pinot Noir. Everything was fresh and delicious -- we'd definitely go back for more. Brick oven pizzas are available on weekends. We were fortunate enough to get a comprehensive tour of the property from the owner, Bob. His '80s-era Toyota Land Cruiser carried us through vineyards of Pinot, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Syrah. We also spotted two deer peering over the fence from outside. Bob's a gregarious fellow, relating numerous stories about the winery's history, operations, and expansion plans. It's definitely a family business. read more
