The winery is in a nice spot and the views are amazing. But there are other places around that have the same views and the wines are much better. The wines are too acidic for our taste, the club member parties that we went to were not worth the money (Costco foods, nothing fresh). We visited this vineyard on Saturday afternoon and had a fantastic visit! We both did a tasting and were delighted when we had the ability to chose one of just white or red as both of us preferred this. We're a house divided . We also ordered a charcuterie board and the cheese & meats served blended wonderfully with their tasting menu. Casey provided great explanations of the wines and processes in creation of them. Their tasting room is beautiful and along with the massive balcony overlooks the landscape which was very picturesque. We didn't want to leave :) We purchased three bottles and a set if glasses to take back home to AZ with us. This was by far the vineyard we will remember the most from all those we visited throughout our month in OR. It's been over a week and we're still talking about it. This place is a little hard to find! It's breathtaking when you get there, though. The rolling hills of vineyard are so picturesque. We spent an hour just walking around, photographing it, and taking it all in. Then, we went inside, where the magic really happens. I'm a fan of Pinot Noir. It encompasses everything I love about wine - the deepness of the grapes, and all that stuff...I'm really not much of an expert. But I can tell the difference between a great Noir and a not-so-great Noir. Namaste winemaker Dave makes a great Noir. I tried and liked both of his varietals; the Prosperty and the Abundance. My favorite was the '09 Abundance. Although, I have to say that the '07 Reserve Cuvee (the blend of the other two) was fantastic, just a bit out of my price range. After a long chat with Dave, who was gracious, entertaining, and informative, we made our way down the long and winding road with a couple of bottles of Abundance to take home. We have since enjoyed them with a couple of very special meals. The Abundance contributed so nicely, and we were sad to see the bottom of the last bottle. We'll definitely stop by and chat with Dave again when in Salem. And yeah, we'll pick up a bottle or two, or more, of his Noir. read more

I will never drink this wine ever again due to the sour taste this incident has left in my mouth. I want to share a concern about the business practices of Namaste Vineyards. On Saturday, we went wine tasting there and the owner explicitly told my husband and I to NOT wear our masks at his establishment. Upon defending our rights to wear the mask for our own health and protection, he continued to stand his ground on this point for almost 5 minutes of bantering back and forth. I find this behavior under the current circumstances to be a concern for public health and safety. I understand companies sharing with customers that they are not required to wear them, but to insist on us to NOT wear them in his establishment is a violation of my rights and national health concerns under COVID. My husband and I are at high risk and I can't imagine the backlash this will cause should someone catch this disease by being told they can't protect themselves. read more

Wow! A new best winery!!! I had visited their tasting room in Independence, but this was my first time in the actual winery. The owner, Red, was fabulous! He was fun and knowledgeable. Stopped in to the vineyard to try some of the wine I've been hearing about all around the valley, and it was fantastic! Definitely worth the trip! The wine host Tina was such a delight! She was funny, had a great attitude, very educational about the vineyards wines selection, as well as wine making and the growing process. This vineyard was lovely. The wine was good, and I brought a bottle home. The gal working was knowledgeable, and there were food pairings available as well. The bottle I bought was Peace made by Namaste. Had we not had somewhere to get to, I would have enjoyed my bottle outside sitting in one of the large adirondack chairs. It was very peaceful and quiet up there. A bit of a drive off the road, but worth it. One would hope Peace would bring my tired soul some respite one night. Here's hoping. read more

Yesterday I came upon a hidden gem of a winery. Namaste blew me away with their complex well-rounded pinot-noirs. The 07 Reserve Cuvee is a blend of their Abundance and Prosperity wines. It has a very herbal woody nose. Such a great mouthfeel giving off earthy/mushroomy tones. A very rich and full pinot that lingers forever. The Prosperity is very pungent as well and features a good combination of spice and berry. Very flavorful! The Abundance has a great cherry nose but surprisingly comes off with a peppery kick and a massive berry taste to boot. Take the trip, enjoy the incredible view and savor some fantastic wines! read more

I'm not a huge Pinot fan, but this past week my wife and I, along with friends from Placerville, California, decided to take the day and do some tasting. We tried several wines from well known and respectable wineries, but at the end of the day the Pinots from Namaste were clearly the winner. I'm not a wine expert, but I know what I like. I tend to enjoy the more energetic wines and so I immediately liked the 09 Abundance. It's strong peppery taste danced in my mouth like the 4th of July The Prosperity and Cuvee were awesome and would be my choice if I was serving guests- they are smoother and more complex.
