What a great surprise! We have driven past Rendezvous a couple of times every week for a couple of years...finally slowed down and checked it out. This is the beginning of a great relationship. The food was excellent, with just the right amount of "down-home" to make it feel and taste like your favorite aunt is doin' the cookin'. We both had the "Rendezvous"; two eggs, perfectly crispy hash-browns, three excellent sausage links, English muffin (I'm thinkin' homemade preserves). Found this place trying to avoid all the lines at other breakfast spots. Wasn't expecting much from a bar but we were pleasantly surprised. The interior is much more spacious then expected. We ate here for lunch today. We eat pescatarian and were disappointed the chowder has bacon. Menu change and they don't have mozzarella sticks, so no "vous" burger. The service was great. Ok.... went there with my nephew to watch some March madness. This place was the closest he could find to a "sports bar" in Tillamook. The really big TV was in the restaurant section and not in the bar, ugh. The service was very fast and friendly, unless you wanted your tab. The beer selection was very limited unless you wanted a generic bottled beer. The menu was very limited do to some sort of staffing problem. Oh well. My nephew got the chicken strips and I got a bacon cheeseburger. Overall the food was good. The thing that took the longest was getting the check. Great place to stop for a beer or cocktail. There are twin separate areas. Restaurant and bar. Kind of confusing for some travelers. Bob the bartender was great. All of a sudden At dinner time, they got swamped. It was chaos, we were sitting at the bar so we didn't struggle with drinks or food. The entire place was overwhelmed with phone calls, bar patrons, restaurant patrons. The sad things is trying to find new employees, it just tough for all of these Mom and Pops. Beef au jus sandwich was great with perfect bread, clam chowda was awesome! Fresh burger meat, fresh corned beef hash, great prime rib. The Buffalo wings were breaded, too saucy and just plain terrible. Bathrooms severely outdated, unkept and not the cleanest. Stop by and support the little guys like this place. Tip#1: The restaurant is closed (for remodeling). But the bar is open and serves food. Tip#2: Ask the bartender about the hamburgers. When we came in, she said they had them, but they aren't on the menu. Tip #3: The menus found online aren't what's served. I'm sorry I didn't get a pic. Pros: -An entire wall devoted to service personnel, who have signed their names. This is what a small town is all about. - The menu is limited. Sandwiches, some salads, a couple of apps and a couple of desserts. But what they are serving is done really well. The bread was soft and fresh baked. The meats were flavorful. Presentation was ok. - Remember those shoestring potatoes we used to find everywhere? They're here. Delicious! - After we seated ourselves and while waiting for our server, the chef brought out a sample of the brisket he'd "been working on." Hubs said it was delicious. ( I was off put, however, because as soon as we were seated this random guy plopped some cuts of meat on a plate on the table. Odd) - Hubs actually had the brisket au just sandwich. Delicious he said. Not dry at all, and with that hint of smoke you want from your brisket. - The Italian sandwich was surprisingly amazing. A fresh rosemary ciabatta. Shaved, thinly cut meat and cheese. Shredded lettuce. Thinly sliced tomato. So much effort and delicious. -Live karaoke on Saturday nights. CONS: - We had to wait a few minutes for the bartender to remember we were waiting to order. We were the only customers in the bar at the time. -Our meal was served quickly enough, but noone offered us silverware, napkins, or condiments. Hubs actually went to the bar and politely waited for the employees to acknowledge him so he could ask. -Those shoestring fries? Delicious. Don't go here. First of all the service is ungodly slow. Only 1 person waiting on tables, and he was slow, we had to repeat ourself several times. Our bill was 113$, we handed him 120$. He walked away with the money and then came back and said we were 20$ short. We had counted the 120$ several times, so he stole 20$ from us. The food was okay, the French fries and brisket was the only edible thing, everything else was bland. And don't order a soda, it was 9$ for a soda, which is the same price as an alcoholic drink there (which also was terrible). But don't drink the water either, tastes like it came out of a dirty hose. While it was fairly clean, it had a pretty funky smell too it. I don't know if it was a bad day for them or what, but this was terrible. read more

Found this sweet place when myself and a dozen rowdy women hiking through Oregon needed shelter after being rained out on a nearby hike. The entire staff went out of the way to make us feel welcome. My fiancee and I came here for breakfast while we were visiting Oregon. It was not very busy during breakfast so we were seated right away. All of the staff was wearing masks and they cleaned our tables right before we sat down. We ended up ordering the vegan wrap and the country fried steak and eggs plate. Both dishes were excellent. The vegan wrap is a perfect choice for anyone looking for a lighter and healthier option. Our waitress was very friendly and very good at keeping the coffee coming. The prices were very good and were better than what we are typically used to in California. The meal defiantly beat your typical franchise breakfast restaurant. read more

We happened to be passing through Tillamook and stopped here for a late lunch. I had the Halibut fish and chips with Caesar salad instead of the chips. The Halibut was cooked just right and tasted delicious and the side Caesar salad was great. My husband had a bowl of clam chowder and a larger Caesar salad with chicken. My hotel recommended this place as a place to get some food (considering it was after 7pm and practically every restaurant was closed). I had a burger and it was actually pretty good and they had the NFL game on all the TVs which was great. Looked like the bartender was having a bad day as they seemed a little irritated. Given the options, this restaurant is one of the better ones. They have homemade soups and desserts. All of our food was good. Our only complaint was that none of it was very warm. I love a local cafe with a snappy-talking server! We stopped in for lunch, and it wasn't crowded. They were out of several things (including fish for the fish and chips!), so we got burgers, French dip, and grilled cheese sandwich. All were prepared decently - including extra crispy fries. Came here on a Saturday night, this town shuts down at 7, but they were still open. I call them to see if they have space for us, they checked and quickly found us a table. Since we were in this region, we wanted seafood, didn't know what type of dive this was, judging that it was a bar and grill, with a full bar attached to one side; generally places like this have average to below average food, so my expectations were set fairly low. Not impressed. When my dinner came the vegetables were cold. Asked the server if I could get some warm vegetables. Waited 15 mins, still no vegetables. Steak was ok. Nothing to brag about. My friend had the fish plate. The fish was extremely crunchy and over cooked. The place wasn't busy at all. Not sure why the service and food was so crappy. I didn't want to eat another Franchise fast food place, we were looking for one little cottage by the sea, but there's no sea here, and we've gone around the circle twice now trying to find a place close-by, before heading back to Highway 101, finally got our GPS for help searching for any restaurant that has fresh clam chowder (not tired of that yet, when @ the coast, you'd want CLAM CHOWDER!) The waitress greeted us with: "Yes! Made fresh today!" I ordered the Rueben sandwich & onion rings, and a bowl of clam chowder. We're both sharing everything! When my Rueben arrived, I just stared @ it, for awhile. It looked like burned toast! I guess, I haven't had one of those in a long time, that I've forgotten that it was made of RYE bread, could that be why it's like 'burned toast'? It was delicious, though! The onion rings, was the best ever! The clam? There's not enough clams, a lot of crispy bacon and the potatoes cut too big! It should have been called: POTATOES, BACON & CLAM CHOWDER! I think I ate about less than 1/4th of my 1/2 portion! The bathroom, older and well used. It's a bar, what do you expect! They were lucky to have us!
