Open garage doors letting in the sun, lots of patio seating. Loud music, fun decor. Started with a draft beer ($5) and a draft blackberry cider ($5), brilliant in color and yummy flavor. Husband went with the chowder for dinner, not sure how that goes with beer. I ordered the fish tacos. The chowder was lovely, rich and creamy but not super thick. The fish tacos were INCREDIBLE! Three giant tacos on corn tortillas, huge pieces of fish and an excellent chipotle aoli. Loaded with cabbage and cotija cheese, these tacos needed nothing but the side of Pico to complete them. They were so good, husband ordered them for himself on our next visit. I probably did not need three, but they were so good I stuffed myself. On our second visit, he ordered the tacos and I ordered a cheeseburger. We started with half a dozen buffalo wings. This visit the food wasn't as spectacular. The wings were tiny, dried up and overly crunchy from frying too long. The burger was simply ordinary although it looked pretty good on the plate. I appreciate that they offer sweet potato fries without an upcharge, and they were good. At least husband got to enjoy the fabulous fish tacos! Anyway, more beer and cider, and off we went. As outsiders to Astoria, we felt so welcomed, especially as a very diverse group of people. We integrated so many locals into our pool games, karaoke songs, and drink orders, and I can absolutely say that the staff made this vibe happen.
