I just recently moved to the coast and the moment I saw the Green Bay sign I knew I was heading inside. I also researched cocktails in Seaside Oregon and this was the spot that kept coming up. I entered and was immediately greeted by the barkeep. She was friendly and made me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in the door. I chose the Moscow Mule since they are known for this yummy cocktail. It was made to perfection and even served in a legit hand hammered copper mug. I'd say the best Mule I've ever had. We talked about Wisconsin, cheese curds, ranch, the Packers, Lambeau Field and of course Seaside too. The barkeep even shared some photos. I can't wait to go back and watch the packer game here. I have almost no words for how utterly disgusting the food is here. I am at a loss as to how to describe their complete lack of cooking skill or knowledge. Its almost depressing to wonder if these poor people running the place have ever eaten a decent meal in their lives. I mean, honestly: Who opens a restaurant/bar with absolutely zero talent in making the most basic of basic dishes? It's just... well, sad. I was there this week for a work trip, and since it got good reviews, I thought it would be a hidden gem. Dear God, was I ever wrong. The whiteboard menu should have been a waaaay bigger red flag. I cannot emphasize this enough. DO NOT ORDER FOOD. For starters, we received a tasteless mushy pile of undercooked tater tots that fell apart in our fingers. My husband ordered the pulled pork, which led us to wonder if the owner has ever seen or tasted a pulled pork sandwich. It was a slab of meat on a slice of white bread. No barbecue sauce. Just found this place last night. Great cocktails, lots of choices. I'm not a beer person but if you are there are lots of choices. Tom is great and his wife makes the best food! I had the cabbage rolls and they were the best I've ever had. The seasoning was perfection! Nice atmosphere for visiting. Right downtown. Parking is a problem though. Live music on Wednesday nights. Went there last night with my friends for Karioke. Had a blast. The bartender even sang a Romanian song and everyone loved it. The place had a pool table and darts to play too if you're not into Karioke. Not your normal dark stinky bar. It was bright and clean. Drinks were great too. read more

Capricorn pub is the single best bar in town. They have gyros, cabbage rolls, tots, wings. But more importantly... The bar owners and tenders Elena and Tom are the reason I come here. Here at Capricorn pub, they treat you like family, and they keep you well tended and happy. The bar itself is brilliant in it's decor and design. There is a bohemian/sports bar vibe. The perfect place to celebrate your 21st or your 90th. This is the only bar in Seaside worth going to. Their drinks are divine, service comparable to a Michelin rated restaurant, and humor to boot. We stumbled upon the Capricorn Pub by happy accident while trying to find a place we can go with our dog for dinner and drinks on a drizzly evening. They have two covered outdoor tables (both 2 seaters) that are pet friendly. Delicious mules (20 flavors!!) were reasonably priced for the area. The bartender was very sweet and brought water for our pup. This is one of the few places that has covered seating for pets in Seaside, which was handy on a drizzly weekend. So happy we found Capricorn Pub. read more

I was on vacation in Seaside and went into the Capricorn pub for a couple drinks after dinner with my boyfriend. We sat at the counter and started chatting with the owner who was a wonderful lady she took great care of us and I told her that I too am a Capricorn we bonded over the theme of the bar and I even purchased one of their sweatshirts with a beautiful logo. I believe there is another location in Astoria, OR and next time I'm in town I will visit that location as well. After reading the reviews and seeing the Facebook page decided to try the Capricorn Pub with a group of about 10 friends while visiting Seaside for some drinks dinner and karaoke. Bartender seemed overwhelmed by the group and was a bit rude. No one was impressed by the very lightly poured drinks. Waited over 30 mins for a hot toddy and was hand a glass less then half full. Waited an hour for a gyro that was heated in the microwave and mediocre at best. Never got to Karaoke because the bartender didn't know the password to start it. I hate to leave a bad review, I rarely do it, but this was not a good experience. First off there was a rated R movie playing at the front of the bar on a TV that faced the street window and there was a scene with full frontal nudity within view of the sign that labels this a "Family Friendly" place. Then there was a whiteboard that had a few menu items listed, but no price. We ordered one gyro, fries to split, and some chicken nuggets. We also ordered two drinks. The lone lady behind the counter just said "OK" very quickly after everything we said, never clarifying anything, and seemed to want to get us out of there. We were also the only people in there at 8 pm on a Friday night. The drinks were small and watered down, and came at $14 a pop. The person who took our order messed up the order and brought up two gyros with chips that were random flavors (we were never told there were chips and not offered an option of flavors). The gyros were fine, but the fries and the nuggets were obviously something bought at Costco and heated in a warmer or a microwave. Finally, the bill comes and it was $65. For two drinks, two gyros, one side of fries, and one side of microwaved chicken nuggets. The whole time we were there the person behind the counter was just on her phone and ignored us. Like I said I hate to leave a bad review, but in this case, it was a truly disappointing experience and one that I will never repeat. This place is amazing. It's hard to find a good bar in Seaside open this late, and sometimes when you're on vacation or stopping through that's exactly what you want. Came for a comedy show. Show was good but WAY too many people were allowed in. Super unsafe. Bar tender was a little pushy and unfriendly, maybe because she was the only one there and it was really busy, to her own fault (probably trying to take in more money). Wife and I were in seaside for a few days and went into Capricorn both nights we were there. The bartender, Chuck, is a super cool dude and makes THE best Moscow mules ever. That's all I drank. A lot of them. They're the best. Go here and get them. Bar has a pool table, foosball table, darts, board games, electronic jukebox, everything you need really. Definetely recommend this place!
