Scoopers is a classic tourist destination in Long Beach, but it's a worthy stop for a sweet treat. The front of the shop has a homey, welcoming vibe. Chocolates, brittle, taffy, fudge, and ice cream. There's also souvenir merch, bottles of wine, snacks, beverages, and limited grocery store items. Stop #1 (6/16/25) Well priced icy 16oz cans of Coca Cola and a quart of 2% milk. A pleasant chat with the counter person. Stop #2 (6/18/25) Assorted salt water taffy and pair of ice cream sandwiches. Long line at the ice cream counter with that tantalizing scent of freshly made waffle cones. Stop #3 (6/21/25) Finally some ice cream! Umpqua and Alpenrose are featured brands. Pack your patience and show some grace, especially during peak season.

In the line for ice cream.

Dogs are not allowed into food establishments and for good reason. Why was this allowed and not taken care of at the door? It was so obviously NOT a service dog and in places of food, this shouldn't be overlooked. Especially when there is a huge outdoor area the dog could stay. Will not be back again.

Dropped by after dinner because I wanted a dessert and the choices at the restaurant weren't doing it for me. So glad we dropped in because this is a souvenir store/candy store/truffle store/ice cream shop. I think they have double the number of ice cream flavors than Baskin Robbins. You pay before you order and get a number and when you get called an attendant scoops out your choices. they definitely have their system down to get through the line fast. The flavors aren't the best I've had, but I completely appreciate having every flavor available. They also have a few picnic tables outside so you can enjoy your ice cream. What a fun place to browse and they have the best type of souvenirs with all their toys and candies.

So many great flavors of ice cream, friendly staff and delicious waffle cones! Fun store with cute things for purchase, lots of saltwater taffy! We go whenever we're in town!

This is a cute shop but check expire by dates. It's currently Feb 21 and they had bacon and eggs on the shelf's that expired in early January (1/6 if I remember correctly). The chocolate from the bar was mediocre. It wasn't only refrigerated items that were expired it was also shelf items too. Not sure I'll be back.

Great ice cream in Long Beach at the end of the main street. Be prepared to wait in line. They get busy. There are so many ice cream flavors to choose from! Also cups, bowls, waffle cones, banana splits, brownie sundae, seriously you name it they can make it. This place is at the back of a store and you get the pleasure of walking past candy, popcorn, fudge ALL KINDS OF GOODIES! Definitely the place to go for ice-cream and a sweet treat!

I'm honestly a bit surprised by all of the negative reviews for Scoopers. My visit was overall pleasant and fun. With that said, I just got a bunch of chocolates (which looked a lot better than they tasted), and a few other items at their full candy shop. There is also a large convenience store here, and a big ice cream counter. The inside is charming, big, and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I'm looking forward to indulging in some ice cream the next time I'm in Long Beach.

Then I noticed they had my favorite chocolate that melts in your mouth Ice cube. I was excited to get a few. It was 1.00 each for the tiny cubes which I didn't mind paying for them because they're my favorite. I would've given higher rating but I did notice the place was pretty dusty, and some of the candy seemed like it was sitting there for a while. They did have a good selection if old school candy though. What made the rating even lower was when I ate my favorite 1.00 chocolate ice cube. It looked old, and tasted old. Had the waxy and starting to look white like it's been sitting there a while look to it. I still ate it, but it was just not the same melt in your mouth feel. I think the service could use some work also. But it's a small town older gal sitting behind counter looked like she was falling asleep. I don't blame her it was a beautiful warm day, and I was sleepy also. Young man helping us had a big smile the whole time. Seem friendly enough. Not sure I'll go back but it was fun to see all the old nostalgic candies.

And for me, walking straight into Phillips Candies like a man fulfilling a sacred coastal tradition. This place has been around since 1897 and is actually the oldest continually operating business in Seaside, which honestly makes perfect sense the second you walk through the doors. First off, I absolutely love that they carry sugar free chocolates that actually taste good. That alone deserves applause. Then you add in the giant selection of candy, the homemade treats, the popcorn, the chocolate, the old school charm, and suddenly you realize you've been wandering around the store for forty five minutes carrying six pounds of snacks you absolutely did not plan on buying. I am a complete sucker for the white cheddar popcorn and the cheese popcorn. Throw in some Laffy Taffy and now we're talking about a full blown Seaside survival kit. Every single trip to the coast, I stop here and "accidentally" leave with enough candy to supply a small movie theater. The store itself is beautiful too. Bright, nostalgic, cozy, and full of that classic beach town energy that makes you happy just being there. It sits right near all the fun downtown, close to the arcade action and the heart of Seaside, so stopping in feels like part of the experience. The customer service is always fantastic, warm, welcoming, and patient with people like me who spend fifteen minutes debating popcorn flavors like it's a life decision. And somehow, even with the quality, it still feels like you get a good deal. Chocolates, candies, caramel corn, saltwater taffy, coffee drinks, sweet treats everywhere you look. No trip to the Oregon Coast feels complete without walking out of this place carrying a bag that's way heavier than you intended. Five stars all day long.

I also got some fudge (my mom's got a sweet tooth!) for our group of nine visiting to share. They had divinity, an old-fashioned confection of which my mother is quite fond so I picked up some of that, as well as some dark chocolate sea salt and some rocky road.
