This is our go to place for ice cream in seaside. Always a great value for families. Service from staff is friendly and welcoming. Owner was present during our visit and welcomed us to spin the wheel adding to the experience. Store did seemed a little crowded and could maybe more frequent cleaning to improve on the ambiance. Otherwise always a family favorite. Cant comment on the taffy as we just go for the huge variety of ice cream flavors available. read more

Giving this place 4 stars because they had soo many flavors here. Way more than you would get at a typical taffy store. For example they had dill pickle and chili mango. I believe it's around 8.99$ a pound. It does smell kinda bad in here and isn't the most clean. They do give you coupons when you spin the wheel which is fun. Employees are nice. read more

Wanted ice cream after lunch and remembered this ice cream shop I frequented as a kid coming to Seaside. For a $2 single scoop cone, the size was fair and worth the price. My family got the cookie dough, cotton candy (childhood favorite), and the wild mountain blackberry. We all enjoyed our cones and talked about how we would be returning every time we visit Seaside. The ice cream was good but the highlight of this experience was the lady helping us out. She was extremely kind and even gave us a little extra on each cone! This place is fun and kind of hidden away. The service isn't the most attentive and the prices seem high but they have a lot of flavors like dill pickle, maple and bacon and others. It has this big wheel you can spin (if you can find someone to help you) for a prize and it overall it has a somewhat 1950s atmosphere and feel. The overall flavor of the taffy is okay. I have to visit everytime I'm in Seaside. Low prices and the best variety of saltwater taffy. They also have my favorite Black Licorice Ice cream that's hard to find now days at a low $2.00 scoop awesome size for me and the kids. Service is always the best very friendly and sometimes you can meet the original owner so nice talking with him his pride of ownership and love for candy. This place is one of the original places left here in Seaside that's why we come back. For under 28.00 we got ice cream for 2 kids 2 adults and big bags of candy for all 4 of us. The ambiance and Best price along the Oregon Coast. We drove from Newport because this is the only place I buy saltwater taffy in Oregon and I'm born and raised here. Cute candy shop that is very clean and has a large assortment of candies. We got a mixed bag of taffy and a mixed bag of jelly beans. Staff was very friendly. The candy is in these giant display tubes they are kind of hard to work with but I eventually figured it out. My favorite thing about stopping here is that they have sooo many types of ice cream, including some sugar-free options. Oh. My. God. This place is the definition of a SCAM! I cannot believe I wasted my time and money here. They claim to have 170 flavors--170!!! But let me tell you, every single piece of taffy tastes EXACTLY the same. Honestly, it's more like they have three generic flavors and just slapped different food coloring on them, hoping no one would notice. Spoiler alert: I noticed. And the taste? It's like chewing on flavored cardboard. I don't know if they were going for "shitty chalk" as an intentional flavor profile, but if so, congrats, they nailed it. I can't even begin to describe how disappointed I am. I mean, who in their right mind advertises a whole WALL of flavors, only for each one to taste like literal garbage? And don't even get me started on the texture. You know how taffy is supposed to be chewy and soft? Well, apparently, no one told these guys. It's like biting into an eraser from the '90s that's been sitting in a dusty drawer for two decades. Yum, right? Sure, the employees were nice. I'll give them that. But nice employees don't make up for the abomination of "candy" this place is churning out. If you like being scammed while pretending you can tell the difference between "blue raspberry" and "cotton candy" (hint: there isn't one), then by all means, go ahead and waste your time. Ice cream had multiple unique touches and is what makes this place a place to add on your seaside bucket list! Taffies were phenomenal and make you want to come back for more. I had the birthday cake flavor scoop and it gives exact flavor I want for my birthday cake every year! The lady who served us was passionate about her job and is a person who lights up your mood! Definitely need to try the ice cream and was affordable which makes this place the best out there. read more

We were super excited to check this place out bc of their advertising over something like 150 or more flavors. This store was one of our main reasons for visiting the little town area. Unfortunately, we were immediately put-off before we even got inside the door! It's inside a weird courtyard off the main drag that was kinda dirty. The store seems really cramped and they aren't limiting capacity so it was packed. But the worst of it was how utterly filthy it was. The bins looked like they hadn't been cleaned since who knows when, with bits of taffy and other unknown substances smeared and dust and open candies. Also, every piece we picked up to purchase was hard as a rock, so obviously not fresh. We got frustrated and gave up. It just wasn't worth it bc there are so many other spots with clean bins and fresh taffy. Sad. read more

Must stop! Been going there for over 50 years! It is an icon store in Seaside! Needs a few updates but brings back so many memories!

I thought that once our kids were gone, we wouldn't get sucked into this store. WRONG! We couldn't help ourselves, with delicious Tillamook ice cream and 170 flavors of salt-water taffy to eat on the drive home. The taffy is soft and creamy, and you can't ask for a better selection! They also happily hand out samples of fudge. I'm a sucker for caramel corn. Theirs is tasty and well coated, but the occasional kernel was discouraging. I wish they took the time to sort those out. The floor isn't the cleanest, but hopefully the kitchen is. read more

Late to review, an old check in I am following up on, so I might need a refresher in the means of a bag o gummies! I swear I reviewed this place... Now it is a good place, it is a fine place, it is a candy place... Did anything stand out, not so much... The aisles were well stocked, I don't think we had places in my area like this when I was a kid... Now I bring my kids here they tire themselves out asking if they "can have it", the followed by asking, "what is it?" Grabbed some chocolates for the adults, gummies and crunchies for the kids, and I think we made out under 5 bucks with enough candy to fuel our walk to the coffee shop down the street. Staff was nice and didn't seem irritated that we were in there for 10 minutes while we shopped for our bag of confections. Come get your sugar kids... read more

this is where we always stop for taffy and fudge when we are in seaside. they allow pets as long as you carry them, which is ideal for us. there's so much taffy variety it's hard not to come out with an unreasonably sized bag my husband loves the fudge and the divinity is one of my favorites. make sure you spin the wheel before you leave! read more

On June 17, 2023, I placed an online order for taffy, but I never received an email confirmation. Luckily, I had a printed copy of my receipt. On June 24, 2023, I called the store to check if they received my order, only to be informed that they had no record of it. They asked me to email them the details, which I promptly did along with a copy of my receipt. In the same email, I made a specific request for the taffy to be packed individually by flavor or divided into three bags with the flavor breakdown, as I was ordering for others outside my household. I also asked for the tracking number. Two days later, on June 26, 2023, I followed up with another email to confirm if they received my previous email. They responded affirmatively. However, it wasn't until two more days later, on June 28, 2023, that I received an email with a tracking number. Unfortunately, the tracking number they provided was incorrect. Today, June 30, 2023, I emailed them again to request the correct tracking number due to the errors I encountered. They promptly responded with the correct tracking number, but when I checked, it indicated that the package had already been delivered to my mailbox earlier today. I was glad it arrived quickly, but extremely frustrated that it was left in the mailbox for several hours in temperatures reaching close to 100 degrees without my knowledge. Thankfully, the taffy wasn't ruined, although it did become very soft. Now, the main reason for my negative review is that despite receiving my email and clear instructions on how to pack the taffy, they completely ignored my request. They sent me two large bags with all the candy mixed together. It's disappointing to see how they disregarded my simple request when they acknowledged receiving my email. They simply didn't seem to care. I really wish I had read the online reviews before placing my order, as it would have deterred me from ordering from them in the first place. EDIT: After sitting down and sorting the candy, I discovered that they failed to include two flavors, Oreo Mint and Watermelon. Additionally, the shipping cost them $17.10, but they overcharged us $26.85. It's frustrating to realize that not only did they skimp on the candy we ordered, but they also managed to "tip" themselves with the excess shipping charges. They couldn't even be bothered to sort the candy as requested. It seems they make it harder for customers to notice missing flavors when everything is haphazardly thrown into a single bag. This experience has left me extremely dissatisfied with their company. read more

I went in to get some taffy for my husband and to bring back to neighbors. So thankful I didn't buy for everyone at once (they have prepackaged bags of taffy) The taffy was absolutely awful, it was so hard and stale we couldn't eat it. Some people worry about taffy pulling out a filling or crown, with this we thought it might break a tooth. It didn't even soften up just holding it in our mouth. It was impossible to get them on the phone, they don't answer, and their VM is always full. They also didn't answer email inquiries. Then they didn't have products in stock. The great part is they are just across the street from the city public parking, you can grab taffy and ice cream to enjoy on the beach, walking back to your hotel, and/or as you are heading out for the day! You can tear off a large or small bag then stroll through the taffy forest. We loved adding pieces as we wander up and down the rows of labeled taffy tub trees. We ended up getting several bags to take back to friends. They have a great assortment of taffy, ice cream in bowls/cones/sugar cones, chocolates, popcorn, Jelly Bellys, and many more candies... I was in Seaside on vacation and stopped in this candy store. The store was big and had an amazing selection of items. I bought a few things. The customer service was fine. Unfortunately, the items I bought were inedible. I bought peanut butter fudge, cheese corn and caramel corn. The fudge was terrible. It was dry and almost tasted like there wasn't enough sugar in it. I took one bite and threw it away. The cheese corn tasted like stale movie theater popcorn with a dusting of cheese powder. The caramel corn was the least objectionable of the three items. However, it was certainly not good. It tasted off...almost like burnt molasses instead of caramel. It was a disappointing experience. read more

Honestly just straight up gross inside. Floors and bins covered in dirt and taffy and nothing looked like it had been cleaned recently. I was drawn in by the 170 flavors sign and instantly was put off once I walked in. The whole building reeks. I started putting taffy into my bag but after checking the bins I just sat it down and walked out, wish I had taken a picture of how dirty this place was. read more

Holy taffy! My friends were in salt water taffy heaven. I was just amazed by the sheer amount of sugar and food coloring around me. And the adorable mini jaw breakers! Makes you go "aww". Beware that while they have tons of interesting flavors, most don't taste nearly like the thing they're suppose to taste like.. pumpkin pie tasted rubbery, birthday cake was basically chewable sugar.. I really liked the chocolates I got, though. Dark chocolate almond, dark chocolate cashew, dark chocolate seafoam, and dark chocolate salted caramel. I totally didn't just eat it in one sitting... okay, I totally did. Mmm dark chocolate.. The staff was really friendly. One gal kept calling me "hon" which was weird, because I think she's younger than me. And I was offered help by all 3 staff in my 15mins there. The absolute best candy shop in seaside. We always go here FIRST when we are in town :) Once per day you get to spin the wheel and you always win at least a piece of taffy, but if you land on a number you can win a bag of candy, a bag of popcorn etc. so fun! We love the variety of the taffy and it's super fun to go through and pick out what kind we want and fill up our own bags. Love love love this place. Especially when they play the candy man song! read more

Certainly out of date. Not much business and taffy tasted like it was years old. It probably was with the selection they have. They have tons. But my bet is that it has sat there for a very long time. I love taffy but would not buy from there ever again! Rock hard and stale. Yuck! Don't waste your money. If I worked here I would probably have to be committed. If I had to hear the song "the candyman can" all day long I would go crazy. In fact if you spend more than 20 minutes picking out your taffy you can't get it out of your head for 2 days... You can cruise the campgrounds and here people humming the tune.. No where in my travels have I had such a selection of taffy. They have so many I think some are just made up.. I can tell you that if you can't find a flavor you like you might as well give up on candy. They have a unique way to advertise. The owner dresses up in black and white complete with bow tie and carries a tall tube filled with taffy. He hands everyone on the street corner a free taffy with a discount coupon. When you come down you spin the "prize wheel". It is fun and innovative. Going to the beach, and getting some salt water taffy is about as Oregon coast as you can get. We have been going to this place annually for years but today I had the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I called to see if someone could answer questions about how they are handling things since covid started (we want to go back but was hoping they took online orders for pick up rather having to root around bins that people have had their hands in) and the response I got was a rude: "I'm too busy to be answering questions" and then she simply hung up on me. It's one thing to ask me to call back later when they might be less busy but another to just simply hang up on me like that. I guess we will just have to stop going back here from now on. read more
