Tell me that doesn't look fantastic!!!! The bum was really good too.

The food and service were excellent. The bacon cheeseburger was the best I've had in years. Fresh veggies and quality cheese. The bacon was fantastic. I got a chocolate malt which was also very good. The fries were hot and crispy. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed.

We explored Astoria on a brisk fall day, but we didn't want to miss the opportunity to try some tasty custard. The custard king is located right across the street from Astoria's maritime museum. We went for the basic cones but they did not disappoint!

The Custard King has been an Astoria, OR fixture since 1951. Love that the original facade has been retained. Detoured and joined the line to order a vanilla custard with peanut butter drizzle. The Homie enjoyed its consistency and held up well on this sunny day (6/19/25). There's limited outdoor picnic table seating adjacent to the parking lot. Nostaglic and tasty frozen treat!

Great food and frozen desserts. I recommend the custard with lemon curd and marionberry.

Love this family run place, well worth stopping if you want some great custard, clam chowder, burgers ect. I did not see many vegetarian or vegan options so this place is not for everybody. What they do have is delicious and the crew seems to be mostly family and do a good job with service and quality. Mostly walk up, to go and a few tables outside. So on a wet and rainy day it would be better to take back to room or home, no real inside seating.

The service was friendly and our food came out relatively fast. The place was pretty busy when we got there but were able to find a seat. Very limited seating and all outdoors. The custard shake was to die for. My chicken was a little rubbery but the fries were perfect. I'd go again but I'd opt for a burger instead

We were able to slip I here right before closing time. Unfortunately for my nephew, they were out of chocolate, but he still enjoyed his vanilla bowl. They had homemade lemon curd, I had to try that on my vanilla bowl, it didn't disappoint. I would definitely come back here again!

If your reading this... JUST STOP BY, LIKE RIGHT NOW! This foodie spot was ranked #1 when I was passing through Astoria, and I understand why... The food is BOMB! I had the PNW Burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had (coming from a socal girlie who loves in-n-out). The burger had tons of flavor, good portion size, came with sauce on the side & the fries were PERFECT! Crispy outside & soft inside.. The lady at the window was super friendly! I also heard their shakes are AMAZING, unfortunately I cannot have it due to my specific diet restrictions, but I trust what others have to say about this spot. I'll have to book another plane ticket soon so I can get my Custard King fix.

This place is REALLY good! The custard is creamy and delicious. I can see why it has been around for so long. We have been coming here every day of our trip. They have regular cones, waffle cones, or waffle cone bowls. The shakes are on another level. They have a ton of toppings but my favorite is the homemade lemon curd. It is fantastic! The chocolate vanilla twist is also great. My only knock is that they don't have a few more flavors of custard. Even with that being said I will still plan on coming back again and again. Highly recommended!!!

Customer services...fantastic! Delicious custard treats...check! Great food to boot...unexpected! On our recent 4-night trip to Astoria, we wanted a sweet treat on the first night. We tried to go to Frites and Scoop (or something like that) up the road and it was so busy we just kept on driving. Then we saw the sign for Custard King and said...why not. So glad we did! The first night, I ordered a malt with peanut butter sauce and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. It was fantastic! The second night, I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a Raspberry Lemon Curd shake. The Bacon Cheeseburger was perfectly cooked, bacon crips, and veggies fresh! The fries were so perfectly fried and seasoned with a great crispy bite. The homemade lemon curd in the Raspberry Lemon Curd shake was so tasty! Everyone should try it when they have it. The third night, I ordered the Fried Fish sandwich with fried and peanut butter and banana shake. The fish was fried perfectly and was so flaky. It was delicious. The fries the third night...just a perfect as the second night. The fourth night of the trip...Custard King was closed! We were so disappointed! On our next trip to Astoria...Custard King is the first stop!

Got the fish sandwich, clam chowder and a twist cone. Everything was delicious! You do have to sit outside and it does get busy

Nice custard curl! (Peanut butter sauce)

I love these slice of Americana local establishments. Sweet and cheerful places where you order at one window and receive your food/custard at the other window. I got the custard with peanut butter sauce. Yumso! I am dreaming about that combo 6 hours later! So happy they had the 1 custard flavor because with their mega variety of toppings, I would have been consternating for my combos. Super friendly young cooks, workers and youngsters!

Who likes Frozen Custard? I do I do!!!!! Whenever we visit Astoria, Oregon, we always go to Bowpickers for their Fish & Chips. It was only during our most recent trip (5/2021) that we discovered Custard King close by. How did I miss it all these years??? I've been missing out!! Custard King makes more than frozen custard. They also make fish & chips, burgers, and more. For me, though, I was only interested in their Frozen Custard. Too bad they only make one flavor of Frozen Custard, and that flavor is Vanilla. It would have been great to have a couple of other flavors on the menu, but that is okay. Glad to see that they offer a multitude of topping choices. I ordered one topping, but I don't remember what topping it was (maybe caramel?). Hey, I'm getting old so my memory is not what it used to be. Lol!! I do remember that it tasted delicious, and it satisfied my sweettooth. From now on, when we go to Astoria, Custard King will always be on our itinerary of places to drop by!!

My cousin and I stopped by this food cart after walking around the Astoria Sunday Market…read more It took 46 minutes to receive our orders after paying, and I'm pretty sure that's due to the staff being extremely stoned, but we forgave this as soon as we bit into our burgers. My cousin ordered the Oklahoma Double Smashburger, and I ordered the Bacon Black and Blue. I thought I had ordered a double, and she thought she had ordered a single, so we ended up moving one patty from her burger to mine. I was really, really hungry. I devoured my burger and fries. I was a little disappointed that fries were the only potential side (all burgers automatically come with fries), but, given how much trouble the staff had keeping orders straight, maybe they don't need to be adding menu items. The Oklahoma was the first decent Oklahoma smashburger I've found anywhere. Both of our burgers were true smashburgers, with caramelized patties. My cousin's had a lot of mustard and onions, while mine had bacon and blue cheese. I didn't love the amount of bacon and blue cheese. It's not my new favorite blue cheese burger of all time-- a spot still held by Gott's in California. But it was really, really good. Good enough to make us forget how annoyed we were at waiting 46 minutes for two burgers. The toppings were all fresh. The bacon and blue cheese were both top quality, although I wished there was a little more of each. The smashburger had really good flavor, but was on the lighter side as far as smashburger patties go. The cart was in a little food cart plaza with about ten carts surrounding a beer tap hall. The vibes were slightly more classy, beach like, and romantic as opposed to other food cart malls. Our burgers were about $18 each, which was definitely on the higher side, but that's what it's like ordering from a bougie food cart by the sea. We carried our burgers down to the alley with murals behind Pine Street Market for amazing photo ops on our way down to the ocean.
