The restaurant itself has stunning views of the water and bridge; well-spaced tables in an airy windowed setting; and a large fireplace to enjoy warming up next to after being out in the fog. The food was superb. If they have their duck on the menu when you go, do not miss out on the duck! I cannot stress how absolutely phenomenal the perfectly crisped skin and spot-on cook on the meat was. The perfectly creamy chowder was rich with seafood. The salmon was delicately handled and flavorful throughout. Do not miss stopping here. I know on our next PNW trip, we will definitely return.

It was absolutely outstanding! Every ingredient felt incredibly fresh and vibrant. The rich flavors of the grilled tempeh and the perfect tang of the sauerkraut paired beautifully with the hearty, fresh-baked rye. ​The service was also wonderful and incredibly thoughtful--they noticed we were sharing and kindly split the sandwich into two separate plates for us before bringing it out, which we truly appreciated. ​The only downside was the iced tea, which unfortunately tasted quite watered down and lacked flavor. There was also a subtle hint of fennel that gave it something a little different without overpowering the traditional taste. After doing a chowder crawl and trying 10 different restaurants around Astoria, I would confidently put Inferno Lounge in second place, just behind Portway Tavern. Found Fort George right down the street from our hotel and they had a black bean burger on the menu (whooo!) Headed over for a late lunch/early dinner at 3 pm. You can choose from the wood fired pizza section upstairs (I believe they take reservations) or the pub downstairs (first come first serve) which has a few indoor tables, some semi-outdoor tables that are well covered with a roof and glass sides, or a fully outdoor beer garden with covered and un-covered picnic tables. You order at the counter and then pick your table, they'll drop off the food to you. We opted for the black bean veggie burger which came with pepper jack cheese, guac, some Aioli, and a side of fries. It was very good and exactly what we were craving. They did have a vegan chicken sandwich that looked good but instead I went with a side salad with poppy seed dressing. The salad was fresh and so delicious and the dressing was perfection! Also did a side of hummus and veggies. The hummus wasn't fresh/home made, rather it was from a local place (I believe) and was pretty good. We didn't have their beer but they did have a large selection with varying ABVs and types (the fresh hop IPAs looked extra good); however we didn't see any non-alcoholic options when we looked. We had the ice tea which was fine as well as a Lüp, which was a sparkling hop water, it was pretty good. They also have a gift shop with shirts, hats, beers, and more. They had four (!!!) different types of aged barleywines - we regret not getting some to bring back home. Everyone working was also welcoming, friendly, and helpful when I had a few questions about the menu. Would recommend and we'll come back the next time we're in town !

After waiting in a short line for 25 minutes, we finally decided to depart, since we were in a rush and could not continue to wait for 3 more groups to move at a pace of one per five minutes. Terrible experience - put more people up from or go mobile menu! Later that day, we spent a good hour here for a wedding happy hour, with the venue rented. Beers were great, and they made the best White Summer (50% beer, 50% cider) I have had! The food were all fantastic, and the barrel room was a great space with good access to stand outside. However, the staff were quite rude to several guests about drinking alcohol outside - the door sign was often blocked or too small - and we were told to not use the general patio - so figure that out to make it a more positive experience.
