Most natural soap I've ever seen in any grocery store - it's hypoallergenic and I can't thank them enough for that! The prepared food is natural and organic. I've never seen organic rotisserie chicken anywhere but they have it. Also the burrito bowl is huge - look at the weight, and it's only 10 bucks in 2025. Love this store and wished they had more locations!

Can't thank this place enough! I've eaten out at all the "good" restaurants along the coast and NOTHING compares to this humble coop! Just made myself a meal with all the ingredients I wanted, vegan dressing to top it off and wow! Best meal I've had in a looooong time! So thankful!

I stopped here twice to get some prepackaged foods and had two completely different experiences. The first time I got the garbanzo tabouleh in the morning to eat as part of my eventual dinner on the beach that evening. When evening came and I opened it up, absolutely delicious!! Even though it was packed 3 days prior(bought it Sept 4th), it was still fresh and maintained its flavor and I ended up gobbling up the entire thing. I highly highly recommend giving that a try if you're browsing their cold food section! The following day I stopped in again for a quick lunch and settled with the szechuan tofu but I was incredibly disappointed with what I got once I began eating it. This was packed 2 days prior to being bought, but man, the tofu felt stale and the szechuan flavor basically didn't even exist. They could have marketed it as plain tofu and I would have believed them. I had a random pack of Tabasco sauce in the car and I squeezed that on the tofu and mixed it up and that definitely helped give it SOME sort of flavor. But I can't get over how bland it originally was coupled with the how hard it was. I've eaten plenty of tofu from soft to medium to firm and this firm simply tasted like it was no longer fresh. I found myself at the Cedar Hills New Seasons the following day and got their tofu and THAT is how tofu should taste. Big pieces, fully saturated in a sauce, soft with that subtle firmness. I think this co op should reconsider how they prepare and sell their tofu. If anything, just give it more sauce! Overall I give this place a 3.5/5. The garbanzo tabouleh was an easy 5/5 but their tofu was so lackluster it brings down the entire experience for me.

    Insulated bags. Work great

Great pumpkin pie but small ends today and big ones ended yesterday. Wanted turkey breast from hot table but was dry and no gravy to put on it. Cashiers were very helpful for me to find good Apple Cider. Good half gallons. Thanks Again for the Great Service. From Hillsboro

"This is the coolest grocery store I've ever been in." - My boyfriend, who doesn't get excited about co-ops, farmers markets, and plant based or eco friendly alternatives I like do. Also, the covid precautions are great. Best I've seen between here and Seattle where we live.

I ordered the Salad with Dungeness Crab. I loved the freshness and all the combined flavors. My husband had the fresh fish tacos and they were very fresh and full of fresh cooked fish. The clam chowder was a little weak in flavor and lacking clams so I would probably skip it next time. The fish and chips is their signature dish and everyone was ordering it. Let's start with the service. It's definitely a family-run business, and everyone is invested! Everyone working there seems to be enjoying it. This comes through in the service provided. Everyone chips in, from filling water glasses to bussing tables, etc. The ambiance is excellent. They've decorated the space really well; the tables and couches are comfortable, and every table has some sort of river view. There is an outdoor dining area - which was closed in January and February - that we'll definitely be taking advantage of this summer. I'm usually skeptical of new business out here at the mouth of the Columbia. I read so many Facebook posts about 'This restaurant is amazing' or 'the best Chinese food I've ever had.' This sets us up for disappointment. We'd heard good things about Akres, and every good thing we heard was validated. We haven't had anything in two dinners there that we wouldn't order again, and we intentionally chose different entrees each time to experience as much of the menu as possible. On our first visit in early January, we enjoyed the Chicken Kabobs and the Carlton Farms Pork. Everything was great! My wife loved the Kabobs, and the Pork was stellar! I don't normally like greens, but the seasoning used on the roasted potatoes and winter greens was just so good! The pork itself was cooked perfectly, slow roasted, but with crispy edges. We shared a Horiatiki Salad with Kalamata olives and feta that was great! It was the only food item we ordered both times we visited. The second time we visited, the restaurant was significantly more busy, as it was Friday evening before Valentine's Day. But the service was still great, despite the place being filled to capacity, including a group of 30 which was seated just 10 minutes after us. My wife ordered the special - Moussaka. She couldn't have been more pleased. In general, she'll order moussaka when it's available, and it usually underwhelms. Not last night! It was fabulous. I took a bite of her moussaka, then went back for another, and another - you get the idea. We ended up ordering one to take home, it was that good! I ordered the Fisherman's Pie, which I can best describe as a seafood version of a Shepherd's pie, without the pastry crust. It was great. Shrimp and scallops, baked with a garlic cream sauce, potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a blend of cheeses. Really tasty. But, to be thoroughly transparent, I enjoyed the moussaka a little bit more. Both times we visited, we order dessert, which was great. I think my favorite was the Deconstructed Baklava. Now, on to the cocktails. Or more appropriately, cocktail (singular). On our first trip, I tried the Underworld Manhattan. Awesome! How there aren't any pictures of this cocktail on Yelp! yet is beyond me (I'm about to rectify that). Fig-infused bourbon, sweet vermouth and orange bitters. The second time we visited, my wife and I both had one! The drink was crafted in-house by Samantha. You should definitely try one at Akres. All in all, this is a fabulous restaurant on the Columbia riverfront, one of the best we've been to in a long time on the peninsula or Astoria area!

It reminded me of two Italian spots in Seattle's Pioneer Square. Very popular since most of the onsite seating were occupied (6/20/25). No surprise after glancing at their menu, easily I could gravitate towards several of their sandwiches. Lots of merch and deli items are also available to select from. I ended up ordering a half pound of proscuitto (0.52 lb for $17.67). This was carefully sliced thin, packaged, and wrapped carefully, which was duly noted and greatly appreciated. We paused at window counter seats and had to sample the purchase before departing. Absolutely delicious! Helped elevate a meal the next day too. I may have to return to indulge in one of their Italian sandwiches. Update: we did return to dine onsite at the same window counter seats (6/22/25). The Homie had the Hot Meatball ($14). Meaty with zesty sauce. I had the Salami Panini ($12), which reminded me of a fave Italian panini at Irwin's Bakery & Cafe in Seattle.
