Has everything you could ever need! Very good for groceries! Seems like it'll never end

It really should be illegal to charge more for items than what is on the tag. Today was really bad, over a dozen pricing errors. They wont allow you to 'fix' while in line, you have to go stand in a long line with one overworked customer svc person, and its a major hassle, especially if you're popsicles are thawing. I am an astute shopper - I'm expert on using their app, clipping their coupons, reading the ads before I shop, etc., and to boot I worked grocery early in my long career. These were genuine errors. We've had to endure a near year-long revamp of the store, its nearly finished, and I've yet to to see ANYWHERE any improvement in the experience. Its mind boggling how much money they spent to achieve NOTHING. When I was a checker, they came out with the most efficient way to process items; customer puts product on belt, the employee scans it and puts it right in the shopping bag. Boom, handled once! Super efficient! A few years ago some idiot with no clue how checkstands operate came up with the bright idea of having the checker scan it, put it on another belt, where another employee bags it. Handled TWICE. And this store NEVER has 1:1 checker/bagger. Today there were FIVE checkers, and ONE bagger. Fred Meyer continues its increasing abuse of plastic. This store is AMAZING, store clean, well stocked and super attentive, helpful and friendly staff. They have a super deli full of great ready made stuff for picnics and quick meals at home. We grabbed a Thai spaghetti salad and it was absolutely wonderful. Update: Came back today 7/11 to get some more Thai salad. Groceries and fuel are expensive in the Ocean View, Long Beach, and Seaview region. Your choices for bigger sites are Walmart in Warrenton, Safeway in Astoria, but we sought out the Fred Meyer in Warrenton instead. Ginormous. Vast selection. Clean restrooms by the onsite Starbucks. Also has a fuel station. Plus economical for those routine stops plus all those items you forgot to bring on your getaway coastal holiday. read more

Needed a watch band repaired and was treated like a great customer! Ended up buying a new band which, on my watch was a major hassle to change. The gentleman was a champ and since it was so time consuming, added the watch battery install to the purchase. While waiting, I saw a beautiful pair of white and yellow gold earrings and matching necklace which my wife loved for her Christmas day birthday. I received a hefty discount resulting in a good price and great service with a fantastic attitude! read more

I love the NexGen DEF pump at this station. It is very easy to use, eliminates waste created by boxed def, and auto shuts off when the tank is full so you can easily fill it all the way up. I wish we had these in more locations! read more

The order pick up team work really hard and are great folks. Richard, Marion, Lisa and all of the great team in their group are caring, take time to explain if something isn't quite right, and they have a smile and cheerful manner with everyone. The store is huge and busy and I trust them to get it right - and always hit their mark for timing. Customer Service in the store is also a crew of capable and caring folks - Hunter, Alva, Aaron, and Unity all are thorough, calm and work to find solutions for all. It's a challenge job and all the issues with products or the store - become theirs to solve. They seek to make everyone feel taken care of and often go the extra mile. The pharmacy staff are cheerful, conscientious, and great at answering questions or getting additional discounts on medications if you end up with a surprise. The store website does seem to have changed lately and you have to be more specific about what you are looking for or nothing comes up??? It means you have to refine beyond a basic one word request, and try various combinations to clarify your search and give the system greater detail. read more

Fred Meyer is the super store of all stores!! It blows Wal-Mart and Target out of the water, they sell almost everything including gasoline outside, and Starbucks inside. The shelves were super stocked, and clean. Easy to read price tags. They had clothing, household, grocery, fruit, school items, and tons of other items. You have to go see!! I've never been inside before, they staff was terrific, pleasant, helpful, and kind. I loved talking to each of them. Kristian at Starbucks William at Fred Meyer's gasoline And several people inside. Love this store! I could shop all day there! Everyone is friendly and they have everything. From grocery to garden, furniture and apparel. Its not just cheap apparel they have brands that will last and prices that made me smile. Got our son a membership card and we used the heck out of it. If only I could have got more to take home but the truck was maxed out! Like the wine section and having fresh sushi and brands I dont see at home I wish I could move just to be near one. The gas is great option like Costco without the giant lines at home. Everyone in store and gas area was friendly and helpful even to us out of stater's! Thanks so much. As far as shopping at Fred Myer the store isn't anything to write home about .There produce is just ok ,and almost everything in the store is overpriced .Left in a community with only really other 2 stores to shop from they do ok . As far as the Fred Myer Is ran ..As far as management and supervisors are concerned .Seems as if 90% of the management there left there moral compass in the car .And there all Lost.I'll speak on my short experience as a employee there and why I'll probably most likely never step foot in that store again. First we can touch on how I initially got hired .They interviewed me well.I was hired as a overnight stocking position full time .I let them know I'm not ok with anything less than 32 hours a week .She responded "no problem if they do cut hours just ask supervisor to step in for a sick employee or fill in in another department .3 weeks in they cut me down to 16 hours.The first week went horribly .I called in every night searching. For a slot to fill in . Was finally told by staff to quit calling. They would contact me . I finally approached my manager regarding issue .He was straight rude about it said just how the grocery business is .So that evening I contacted hr .the very next day on my day off they called me into the office where leg me go and gave me my last check .People are expensive and just aren't good people . Loved alot about FM since moving to Oregon, specifically North Coast 5 years ago, still do BUT, sadly, and I think it's a post COVID syndrome that's prevalent now, things aren't being kept on top of as well as they used to be. Just in the past six to eight months I have had to throw away milk two times, shrimp a day and a half after getting it from seafood department, fruit today watermelon.... Yikes! From the outside, Fred Meyer just looks like a large supermarket, part of Kroger, with an outside gas station, but it's also a department store too, one stop shopping under one roof. I rolled in here on a typical weeknight to get some snacks for later that night. I also noticed that the gas prices here were the among the lowest I've seen along my route, so what the heck, while I was here, got my ride fueled up. It's full serve in Oregon (New Jersey does this too). Afterwards, I go inside to buy some snacks. This Freddy's is pretty big and offers groceries, organic foods, electronics, music & movies, one hour photo, pharmacy, optical, apparel, jewelry, footwear, toys, home & garden, furniture, books (very limited) & magazines Starbucks, and more. I picked up some orange juice and chips, but I also did some shopping the Men's Apparel dept to take advantage of the tax free shopping and picked up some clearance item shirts for 40 percent off the lowest price, pretty good deals, but I was unable to check the actual price of the goods because the price check scanners were busted storewide. The store has two entrances with checkouts, but there were very long lines at the Hwy 101 entrance, so I found shorter lines at the other side near groceries. I ended up using a self checkout and was satisfied with the discounts I got. In all, this visit to Freddy Meyer's house cost my credit card $89.05: $35.00 on gas outside, $49.76 on 4 men's shirts, and only $4.29 on the orange juice & chips, my original intention for stopping here. I lucked out on this visit to Fred Meyer with those impulse buys. However, the many items at regular prices without coupons or sales were on the pricey side than what I'm used to seeing at other stores, particularly in groceries. IMHO, I prefer to have everyday low prices instead of waiting for sales on certain days. read more

Fred Meyer's Order and Pick up Service is really bad at this location. It's almost like they don't know how to staff based on order volume. In 2 of 4 pickup ATTEMPTS, we've been told how far behind they were. One time, it was more than an HOUR behind. So, sitting in the parking lot a few weeks back, we were told it was going to be another hour until they filled the order. And we were already at the tail end of our projected hour window. We cancelled and left. They were reasonable on their timing on our next attempt, but yesterday was a joke. Our window for pickup was 4-5. We arrived at 4:51. We had to wait more than 40 minutes. We appreciate the ability to order online and pick up at Fred Meyer. But they really need to do better at scheduling - they know ahead of time what people are ordering, and when they're coming to pick it up. read more

I love Fred Myer I have been shopping at this establishment since I moved to the coast in 2007. I come here for all my groceries, Gas, and prescriptions. They are consistent and the customer service here is amazing. I have been using quick list recently and I just love how friendly the staff are when they bring your groceries to you they are so helpful. They definitely save me a lot of time. They also have bottle drop if you want to recycle your plastic and aluminum cans you just drop it off and they put money in an account for you. It's organized and clean easy to maneuver inside the store. Everything is fresh they have great sales. I've downloaded the Fred Meyer app on my phone and there's a bunch of coupons on there that you can use when you shop. Plenty of parking. I love this place I won't shop anywhere else. read more

I came into the store today 8/14 at around 11:15 am, and before selecting any items, stopped by the restrooms on the far end (near the clothing, etc). So I go in and there are several stalls, all of which are empty. I choose a stall and start my business. Right then, a lady comes in and literally stands right outside my stall. Just stands there. I could see her striped shirt. Then just as I was finishing up, she turns around and quickly leaves. So I came out of the stall, washed my hands, and went out, and sure enough there goes Striped Shirt, walking away. So I followed her, and she ends up behind the desk at the electronics department. She's a staff member. I slowly rolled my cart past her, giving her the side-eye. She gave me the side-eye back. This was ridiculous. She had no reason to creep on me in the bathroom, and if she suspected me of theft, she should consider more than "tattooed person entering restroom" as probable cause for harassment. read more

I've used Fred Meyers for years. I don't know why exactly but , the service is getting extremely frustrating. I don't appreciate having to pump my own gas as I am disabled and it hurts my hands. I can only get there in the evening, and it has been easier to go elsewhere than to wait for the one person to pump it. I am aware that they are legally allowed to have the customer pump it now but, this isn't a new thing at this location, it' has been an issue for a couple years and they point to COVID. Nope, that doesn't fly anymore. My gas points go unused. Now the Pharmacy is also failing. I have to call every single time that my Dr sends in a script, just to get them to start working on it. That is annoying but, I've stuck with them out of years of loyalty. Today, I had a script sent in at 9am. I called at 3:45, only to find out that, not only had they not started to fill it but, they didn't have any in stock! It's a a Friday- wouldn't it be better to call the loyal customers waiting for it to be ready? They knew it hadn't been shipped to them, because, when I was lucky enough to be able to get hold of my Dr and have it transferred - they said that this has been happening ALL DAY ! I'm lucky to have it for the weekend, because it's a controlled RX and new pharmacists won't fill it without a hard copy. I would have been SOL and that is unacceptable! Extremely rude young man in the gas station tonight. Informed us old people that they allow us to pump our own gas after a certain time. We had been told however that there would always be someone available to help those who need it. He did not want to help, preferred to stay in the office so he could be warm. I visited the store deli on 9/6/22. They had pre-made sandwiches displayed in the cold case. The time was 12.07 The sandwiches on display were described by a handmade POC sign. Item register number is 42421561873 at $6.99 each. I purchased 2 of the turkey, bacon, cheese, and some brown mixture supposed to be avocado. The sandwiches only had a band wrap and had to be wrapped and tagged for sale. I asked the lady working if the items displayed were made today, she said yes. She was wearing gloves to prevent contacting ready to eat products. She was the only person I saw working in the deli as she handled and wrapped the sandwiches, I took her word for it. Next time I will use fast food before returning to this deli. The lady had to know the bread was hard and stale (sourdough) These supposed to be fresh made sandwiches were not good or fresh. I think they were from at least the day before as they only had a few turkey ones, but the ham ones displayed was a full shelve. The bread was stale, the cheese had hardened on the edges and the avocado mixture was brown and had a mustard flavor. The mixture was wet and destroyed the bread where it was smeared on to. The bread fell apart in my hands. The deli clerk had to know the bread was hard and stale (sourdough) you could feel it when the bread was touched. I didn't expect Fred Meyer would sell garbage as food. I was 30 miles away when we stopped to eat. With the Coast traffic on 101 we didn't return to the store. I will never purchase anything from the deli again. I don't like doing reviews, but somebody needs to warn the other tourists. read more

Warrenton pharmacy has slow, unfriendly service and staff. I have used FM Tualatin for years, but moved to Astoria and transferred to Warrenton Pharmacy. The service is so poor, i am going to another pharmacy. The list of issues is too long to mention. read more

This is a good Fredmeyer in a sense that it's near Astoria/popular vacationing areas. We stayed in Astoria and this store was rather close to go to and pick up a bunch of groceries. However during the summer it can be an absolute rats nest trying to get in and out of the parking lot, and gets pretty busy overall. Also a bunch of rough characters like to hang around the general area, so be a little cautious. Other then that it's a good place to get what you need and go! read more

2018 update- RAND put the wrong gas in our car and then wanted to get an attitude with is about it. Really disappointed to see customer service like this. As for the grocery story. The review would still be 3-4 stars but the gas station doesn't have a separate yelp. Review for grocery below - It's the best option if you're in town. I would really prefer a Walmart or target but the Fred Meyer definitely gets the job done. It has pretty wide variety of stuff inside though, to be fair. On weekends I would avoid at all costs because it is packed full of people coming into town, and the tourists don't watch where they're driving the gas station will be backed up out to the road all weekend too! read more

Huge store which is awesome but also very hard to find things. This review however is for the gas station, specifically the incredibly rude, impatient woman working there who scolded me for pumping my own gas (the sign on the pumps said self serve during covid) because apparently there was a sign somewhere that said it was her job during the day. I apologized and said I was from Washington and just reading the signs that I saw. She very irritatingly responded "yeah I hear that all the time I'm just letting you know." It really threw me off how rude she was. Working somewhere where a lot of people from out of state come and night get confused by misleading signage, she could be at least somewhat gracious. My wife came here and bought some groceries. Had a fine experience. Upon returning home to Portland, she realized she had lost her wallet. Tracing back her steps, she called this Fred Meyer and it turned up in their lost & found. It had been there about 2 days by the time she called and still had all her plastic and money in there. The staff were so helpful and sent the wallet in the mail without charge, even doing a money order on the cash because they didn't want to put that in the mail. Shop here fairly regularly. Lori, our casher, was very nice and friendly. The store is clean and staff can usually be found and helpful. They have a large selection of items and we can usually get what we are looking for. Sales are usually great and with a rewards card you can save on gas too. read more

Great store for those items you forgot to bring for your camping trip. Their gas station is on site and easy access for motor homes and trucks with trailers to fuel up if you take the outside lanes. Great customer service in the store and at the pumps. read more

Amazing customer service at the store. I dropped something coming outside, someone finds it and actually turns it in. It's a 2 Hour Dr. from where I come from. They worked with me and made sure that it ended up in my hands. This was a very important item that dropped. If you lose anything at this Fred Meyer, you'll get it back. read more

The staff at this location seem to have less of an idea of what's going on than the already confused shoppers. They shift about frantically and awkwardly, like a herd of cattle that has been injected with benzodiazepine. And while I understand that they are going through a massive construction process, consumers need to also realize that the reason they are going through this process in the first place is most likely because competition is finally coming to their town. And it's not the typical lazy, unionized horse crap that we've become accustomed to out here. It's competition that stands to actually crush these idiots and watch them squirm. At first, you might feel bad. It's only natural. But when you can walk into the competition's store and buy the very same box of diapers for six dollars less, it'll hit you, and you'll realize that Fred Meyer has been bending you over the entire time. I just moved to the area and have had to make several trips to Freddy's to get things we needed. I've shopped at a lot of different Fred Meyers, and this one is pretty sub-par. The selection is OK. They're not huge, but they do have a little bit of everything, unlike some that are food only or non-food only. The main problem is the people that work at the store are not very good. I have been unimpressed with the people at the checkout, not very fast or on top of things. I have been even less impressed with their computers. I have never in my life had a problem with things ringing up wrong at the checkstand at a Fred Meyer, but in two of my three trips, discounts did not ring up properly, and the employee had to manually enter the info. Today I went in with a friend, and there was an item she needed to buy. It was on sale, buy 2 get the 3rd free. Huge sign about that specific item. It didn't ring up that way, and when she pointed it out to the guy checking her out, he did not believe her. It ended up holding up the line about 10-15 minutes while he looked through the entire paper ad, called someone else, that person looked through the ad, then finally that person walked to the location of the items, confirmed there was a sign up, that it had not expired, and did not require a coupon. On the plus side, the store is fairly clean, and they have a gas station. I spent enough to get 10 cents off per gallon of gas. On the down side, maybe I've just been going at the wrong time of day, but it's always been crowded with lines for gas and long lines at the checkout. On the plus side, it's Oregon, so no sales tax and they gas your car up for you. read more

Pretty grocery store (plus the department store half that I don't visit much) with large selections and pretty much everything you may need for food. They always have a ton of cashiers, so there's never much of a wait, and every worker I've talked to has been friendly and helpful. Prices are decent, with plenty of items on sale, and not lame sales like 10 for $20, buy 3 get 2 free. Salad buffet (plus soups), hot food items (fried chicken, potato wedges, corn dogs), and made-to-order $5 sandwiches make for a quick lunch here, although the hot stuff doesn't look so good around dinner hour. My hubby loves the beer selection here, especially the local beers. My favorites about this place: -Free cookie samples -Delicious fresh French bread, and overall great bread section -Bulk self-serve items (different types of granola, spices, flours, etc.) -Large produce section with the small lunch size apples I love read more
