I visited in May and tried several of their specials including the Sugar Berry, Mom's Mocha, and Bee Sting and I did not regret a single one of them. Every drink was fantastic. Sitting on one of the old piers with a few other shops and a small museum this place is so warm, friendly with great coffee drinks and food that is perfect. They even allowed 3 of us a couple years ago to stay and use their Internet to work. Of course we kept buying coffee and food, that is a must for taking up their customer space. The service and friendliness of this place is top notch from any coffee shop I have been too. I really would love to keep this place a secret, but I want them to be here when I return so if you are in town please go visit them and hang iut for a bit with some coffee and food. read more

Can't beat being right on the water grab a coffee and sit outside. There is a friendly staff but I've had better cold brews. If you like strong bitter coffee then this is your place. It was a bit much for me. I don't usually put sugar in my coffee but I had to combat the bitter taste. read more

Coffee Girl is a terrific indie bakery and cafe located at Pier 39 in Astoria, OR. Upbeat counter staff providing great service. The pastry case was nicely arranged. I enjoyed seeing the diverse customers onsite, plus great views of the Columbia River waterway with container ships and even pelicans. There are both indoor and outdoor seating available. Visit #1 (6/19/25) The Homie had a 12oz The Pink Pony, which was a Strawberry Lavender Latte and a cherry pie bar. I had an 8oz mocha and a brownie. The brownie was fresh, fudgy, and decadent. Visit #2 (6/22/25) The Homie had a 12oz Rocky Road and a S'mores bar. On the sweet end of things. I had an 8oz cortado which was a perfect foil to another brownie. Missed out on lemon bars, but we shared a ginger cookie. Waiting in line during our second visit, I was able to look at their merch: Cafe D'Arte coffee beans, mugs, bags & totes, patches, masks, beanies, caps, Tshirts, and hoodies. Cozy little coffee shop and café in a historic setting. There is better quality coffee in Astoria, but you won't beat the experience at Coffee Girl. It's a cute little shop in Pier 39, the same shop where "coffee girls" served dock workers for decades. Great place to enjoy a warm drink and a sweet treat overlooking the river. And they have a good deck if you want to sit right on the water. Pro tip: get the cinnamon roll coffee cake. It's decadent and incredibly delicious! read more

What a gem of a place!!! Service was awesome! Even with a long line, the cashier made time to chat with us about our day. I ordered the Lox (duh!) and a vanilla latte. Everything was divine!! Coffee girl does have some of the best views in the city! For our first stop on a trip to Oregon from Washington, it was perfect. I tried the breakfast panini (highly recommend) and we also got h the Lox bagel. We had a mishap with grabbing someone else's drink, and the female barista was friendly enough to make our drinks to go and make sure we were still taken care of and the other person got their drink. This place is steeped in historical relevance. It has fantastic views and wonderful coffee! When we walked in we were greeted as we stood in line. The views and pictures are amazing!!!! They have the pastries and a menu board with additional specials on them. I opted for my favorite- a large 16oz lavender latte prepared half sweet. It was PERFECT! It's a little pricey but I would still gladly come back. The staff was friendly and apologetic for the wait time, although it didn't really seem like it was taking too long. There was ample seating, all with sweeping views of the Columbia River inside this antique cannery building! We ordered the Ham Quiche, Lemon Poppy Bread Pudding, & a latte. Located in the old Bumble Bee Tuna Cannery building on Pier 39, Coffee Girl is a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee, pastries, and listen to the sea lions right outside in Columbia River. This quaint shop is decorated with several plants and an extensive views of the river. They have a lot of pastry options along with sandwiches and friendly staff. Last time I visited was 8 years ago! Can't believe it was that long! Pros: Beautiful location. The seating outside is great. Sadly, location is the only plus. Cons: VERY SLOW service. I entered the place at 10 am. All I wanted to buy was hot green tea. There were 5 parties of two in front of me. I stood in line for 15 minutes for the line to only go down to 3 parties in front of me. I went and sat on the pier instead. After 10 minutes I walked by the cafe's window and the line finally got to a couple that was in front of me when I stood in line. As I observed the staff I saw that the approach was very lax. There were 3 people chit chatting, leisurely going about their business. I left and went to Sleeper Coffee instead. Much better experience. Pastries looked just as unappetizing as 8 years ago. As if made out of the poorest quality ingredients. The place itself looked unkept, not very clean, not very organized. Just bring your own coffee and hang on the beach. You'll have a better experience. Please forgive me if this review offends you. I hope you take people's feedback into serious consideration. read more

Super cute little coffee shop right on the water on Pier 39 in Astoria. The store was operating on a limited menu for the day but my wife and I still had a great time at the coffee shop. Staff was very kind and considerate, especially since most of the people in line had not read the sign saying "Limited Menu" today and they listed what was there... can only imagine how many times the cashier had to repeat that today. I had a really good hot chocolate and my wife had a Megalodon (coffee). We each had an everything bagel with cream cheese and we shared a blueberry coffee cake. We came in for a couple of pastries and a breakfast sandwich. My son devoured the two scones they warmed up from the case. That was quick. I ordered a "signature" lox and bagel sandwich with everything on it. It took 30 mins to put cream cheese on a toasted bagel with some slices of salmon on. They missed everything else. Fortunately, the barista took time out of her busy schedule --even though she didn't have to -- and gave me the fixings. I appreciated that. The sandwich was delicious in the end. I'd go back for the ambience, and when I don't have a time crunch. The service is extremely slow, and is likely not worth the wait for most people. read more

Any chance I get, I stop by this amazing coffee shop- which has become my fave coffee shop in quite possibly the whole world lol! Their coffee concoctions are flawless, breakfast sandwiches delicious, service and staff friendly and warm, and vibe and views just awesome! Not to mention historical - this coffee shop has been serving coffee from the same counter all the way back to the cannery workers on their breaks over 100 years ago! I almost always find an irresistible coffee creation on their monthly specialty menu - and July was no different!! Their "Mountain Hike" latte was so good I got it twice! It's chocolate and huckleberry and wow - so much huckleberry!! Excellent flavor combo and balance of each. And the coffee art is very skilled and always a treat. I almost always get some version of their "breakfast" bagel or panini...which has cheddar, egg, ham, and CREAM CHEESE yessss! It's rich but ohhh so good - on vacay you go big or go home right?? This sandwich is over the top decadent and delicious. I've also tried several of their sweet treats and all are excellent as well - especially the brown sugar coconut chocolate bars - heaven! And massive - took me three days to finish it off. Inside the shop is cozy any time of year, with bucolic color schemes, cute windows and a fireplace. But outside is what you're really here for - those expansive views of the Columbia River and huge ships coming and going with all sorts of birds swirling around - what better way to enjoy starting your day?! The issue is that I get lulled into spending more time here than I intend so be warned LOL! The shop is located at the end of a historic pier with other interesting shops, restaurants and a museum. Coffee Girl also has lots of historic photos and info signs itself. They also offer a great variety of merch - on this visit I got a hoodie and hat - both are fantastic quality and made for some awesome souvenirs. Three groups in front of us, took 15 minutes to place order, 30 minutes to get wrong order but they quickly corrected it. Lattes were fine. Male owner? Don't go on Wednesdays until they hire new people. The guy who took my order gave no customer service, stared at me blankly not even blinking with no greeting which aggrivated me. The lady, M.J. I believe her name is, sold us cups of half coffee half foam, when I didn't order a macciato. The dirty chai was mostly espresso, barely any chai, and mostly foam. Then, when I requested a remake, she only remade one and gave me complimentary pens which utterly insulting. When I told her about her coworker not giving customer service etiquette, she gave me a plastic personality and an infantilizing tone. There is ample room to sit/stay and enjoy your coffee/food... many of the tables have river view windows and weather permitting, there is outdoor seating as well. Love local coffee places. I have been to Astoria as a teen many times and as an adult every year for the past 5 years, I did not even know this place was here. Asked the barista how long they have been at Pier 39 and she said going on 15 years. When you say hidden local gem this is what they mean. Stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and only when I was going to dinner did I see the sign by the road. Walked there in the morning when they opened up to get a coffee and scone. I got a drink of the month "A Silent Discovery" and it was really good. I wanted to go back and get " Red, White & Royal Blue l" but my first patient came early. Also got a peaches & cream and Apricot lemon scone. My doctor picked out the apricot so I ate the peach. It was so good and I found a little surprise in the white chocolate chips in the scones. Or was a nice touch as I love white chocolate. The glaze on top of the scone was not too sweet like most and added a nice texture to the scone. Perfect hidden gem you must try if you are in or going through Astoria OR and need a pick me up or jump start to your day. read more
