I was in Astoria for the day and needed a place where I could work while waiting for my pet to come out of surgery. I spotted Rusty Cup Cafe while driving down the main street and decided to stop in--and I'm so glad I did. They had Wi-Fi, which allowed me to get some work done, and I ordered an espresso while I was there. It was excellent! The shots were clearly pulled perfectly, with no bitter or overly acidic taste. The espresso was incredibly smooth, rich, and flavorful. It was so good that as soon as I finished it, I ordered another one. The space is fairly small, so seating is limited, but the quality of the coffee more than makes up for it. The atmosphere has an industrial-modern, no-frills feel. Rusty Cup Cafe is clearly a business that is focused on making exceptional coffee--and it absolutely shows. I will definitely stop here again the next time I'm in Astoria! read more

The coffee was good and the treats were delicious. I grabbed a piece of coffee cake to snack on while waiting for the bus that picks us up and takes us to the Seafood and wine festival. The giant cookie was yummy and gooey as well. I had been here another time before and remembered it was good and the service was nice and friendly. read more

This is a cool local spot where the barista greeted every customer by name. It's quaint, but not too crowded and the cubano latte is something I haven't seen in any other coffee shop that I've been to. The owner has a card that he gave us that has recommendations for food and wine! Overall, a really wonderful experience! I highly recommend a visit to the rusty cup! read more

We stopped in for a coffee and quick breakfast. Took 52 minutes to get our food, 28 minutes to get our food. Looked like the older guy was training a younger guy. He was super condescending to the person he was training. He was rude to the customers if we hadn't already paid for our food we would have left. It was ridiculous and on top of that the food and coffee wasn't great. Definitely not worth that long of a wait. We had 2 people in front of us. This is a great place for coffee and Tea beverages on Commercial Street, right by the Sunday Market. This was our 2nd time stopping by at this place. The beverages we've tried thus far taste great. They also have some fresh sweet and savory baked goods, and also make some breakfast sandwiched with toast, bagels or English Muffins. This is a smaller place, with 3 small tables and some tall chairs on a counter which overlook Commercial street. My super picky coffee loving husband raved about this coffee, after a week of not finding any that he liked (and we stop often!) we drove 20 minutes AWAY from our final destination to get one last dose of this goodness before heading back to Ohio. The coffee is THAT. GOOD. the breakfast sandwiches and pastries are FABULOUS. The scones are smooth and have just the perfect amount of sweetness and moist texture. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious, filling and made with quality ingredients. This is a MUST STOP if you are traveling through. Great little independent cafe, with well trained baristas and seemingly engaged mgmt. Lattes were pulled consistently well over several days; staff was cheery and customer service oriented. The non-adjustable fan was an annoying pain in my neck, literally; the door with poor seal at top and large missing sweep at bottom wasn't a great separator between the near freezing cold outdoors and kept the place from feeling cozy. This is a great spot for a cup of coffee. We came into Astoria on a cruise ship and wandered in to the Rusty Cup on a whim. The inside of the shop is clean and has a nice aesthetic. There is a cozy, quiet vibe where it feels like you can really sit down, relax, and enjoy your drink. The barista was extremely friendly and patient despite our indecisiveness. We tried the iced matcha latte and a regular drip coffee. The pricing is great here, especially for a small coffee shop. Both drinks were prepared with care and tasted great. You can tell they take a lot of pride and care in their product here. Definitely recommended if you enjoy coffee, especially if you're stopping by for a short time from a cruise ship. If I ever find myself in Astoria again, I will be sure to visit again! read more

We stopped by here in Astoria before checking out neighboring places and found this nice coffee shop that doubles up as a great place to get a quick bite. I personally tried the sausage egg breakfast sandwich substitute for everything bagel for $1.50 more. For $8 total, this was a pretty solid sandwich. The bagel is nicely toasted and super fresh and the sausage and egg, despite it being something I can easily make at home, is welcoming in terms of the speed of preparation as we are tight on time to explore the neighboring areas. On a mission to get to all coffee spots in the city and the Rusty cup was next up! It's a cute little spot right on the downtown strip. Parallel parking out front. (The right side of the street is free 2 hour parking!) when we walked in there was the sweetest person with the sweetest pink hair, lol didn't get her name, and what looked like the owner. What I loved is when we ordered he got up as well to help her fulfill it. The menu is simple. They have food options and a pastry case. There's a few tables to sit inside, but he got ours to go. Coffee: It was okay! I had a vanilla latte with soy. I'm the type of person that likes to shake when I'm done drinking it was on the milder side as far as coffee flavor/punch. They had some sugar free options for flavors (they were out of vanilla :() also alternative milk options (soy, almond, etc.) The croissant sandwich was good, they had it right at the counter after we ordered I wish it had a little bit of salt and pepper on it something to bump it up a smidge. But overall it was a solid breakfast sandwich. The hubs had a sausage burrito. He said it was good. I didn't try it as I was stuffed. It came with a side of salsa. He also had the honey lavender latte. I am not a fan of lavender drinks, so I didn't like it but that was to be expected lol. I would recommend coming in if you're in the area! read more

No restroom is not a draw to stay for a second cup...and the closest restroom is two blocks away...If you're by yourself you'll have to pack up all your stuff and take it with you...if I do that...I'll just move on to my car. The coffee was good enough...although the gentleman working (manager...owner?) informed me I ought not want my cup pre-heated with hot water as it would result in my breve being bitter...doing something to the proteins in the creamer...strange no one ever told me that before? And please...I know how I like my coffee...I didn't come in for an education or argument. The egg muffin and cheddar cheese breakfast sandwich was very good. We've never been here before...and we were the only ones here for a while. The same gentleman seemed much more welcoming to the apparent regulars he knew more so than me and my husband...(not very welcoming imo). I would not come back given my experience. I'm fine that the national coffee chain isn't in town, but I'm done with drive thru. If you're a local in a rush, then fine, although idling cars annoy me. But if you are from out of town, you have no idea what to expect or what's good, and you have no time to decide, due to line of caffeine addicts behind you.
