    Smoked Salmon Bagel

Would I recommend: yes What I ordered: Plain bagel Smoked salmon lox Pickled onions Capers Dill/cream cheese The amount of lox was a little light, but they were quality. Everything tasted fresh. The made other things by hand there. It's not a place that has frozen ingredients off of a truck. I would go here again.

Hot chocolate, salted maple latte and granola parfait
    Emma T.

Randomly stopped in here for lunch while antiquing around town. The coffee was divine. I had a fall special of salted maple oat milk latte. Their granola parfait was delicious and just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. The bacon and egg breakfast sandwich was delicious also. Tiny inside with a few spots to sit and enjoy. Very friendly and fast service. New fav coffee spot in Astoria.

This is a great place for coffee and Tea beverages on Commercial Street, right by the Sunday Market. This was our 2nd time stopping by at this place. The beverages we've tried thus far taste great. They also have some fresh sweet and savory baked goods, and also make some breakfast sandwiched with toast, bagels or English Muffins. This is a smaller place, with 3 small tables and some tall chairs on a counter which overlook Commercial street. Their service is great and the breakfast sandwiches we've tried are good, albeit on the smaller side.

Best iced latte I have had in weeks!!! Quaint spot - love the half door entrance. Kind service. Great coffee!

This is my first time to come here and I had the most mouthwatering delicious biscuit and honey and butter with my coffee. I will definitely be coming back.

This place was amazing! I was getting grumpy and needed some caffeine and a bagel and my wishes came true! I got a dirty chai and it was delicious! Also my bagel had a healthy amount of cream cheese. Much appreciated! The cafe is tucked away and blends into the building but well worth the stop! Service was fast and staff are friendly. Next time I'm in Astoria this will be my first stop.

    Well equipped barista station

Great little independent cafe, with well trained baristas and seemingly engaged mgmt. Lattes were pulled consistently well over several days; staff was cheery and customer service oriented. The non-adjustable fan was an annoying pain in my neck, literally; the door with poor seal at top and large missing sweep at bottom wasn't a great separator between the near freezing cold outdoors and kept the place from feeling cozy. A door closer would really help exiting with fully loaded hands.

    Matcha latte & drip coffee

This is a great spot for a cup of coffee. We came into Astoria on a cruise ship and wandered in to the Rusty Cup on a whim. The inside of the shop is clean and has a nice aesthetic. There is a cozy, quiet vibe where it feels like you can really sit down, relax, and enjoy your drink. The barista was extremely friendly and patient despite our indecisiveness. We tried the iced matcha latte and a regular drip coffee. The pricing is great here, especially for a small coffee shop. Both drinks were prepared with care and tasted great. You can tell they take a lot of pride and care in their product here. Definitely recommended if you enjoy coffee, especially if you're stopping by for a short time from a cruise ship. If I ever find myself in Astoria again, I will be sure to visit again!

Sausage egg sandwich with everything bagel - IG @bougiefoodieboi
    Kyle W.

We stopped by here in Astoria before checking out neighboring places and found this nice coffee shop that doubles up as a great place to get a quick bite. I personally tried the sausage egg breakfast sandwich substitute for everything bagel for $1.50 more. For $8 total, this was a pretty solid sandwich. The bagel is nicely toasted and super fresh and the sausage and egg, despite it being something I can easily make at home, is welcoming in terms of the speed of preparation as we are tight on time to explore the neighboring areas. For the price and quality, this place is very solid.

Love this place! Looks soooo much better now that it's decluttered and has a new menu :-)

I stumbled across Goondocks Bistro while I was in town and decided to give it a try. From the moment we sat down, the waitress was incredibly friendly and patient. She made me feel welcome and checked in at the right times without being overbearing. Honestly, service like that goes a long way, and she absolutely earned a 5 out of 5 for service. As for the food, I ordered the ribs and brisket. The ribs were a bit over-seasoned for my taste -- the flavor was strong but a little overpowering. The brisket, unfortunately, was too dry to my liking. I was hoping for something juicy and tender, but it didn't quite deliver. Overall, I just wasn't a fan of the BBQ here. I'd give the food a 2 out of 5. The atmosphere was decent -- nothing particularly over-the-top, but comfortable enough for a casual meal. Since I just happened to find this place while in town, it felt like a solid local spot to try, even if the food didn't wow me. I'd give the atmosphere a 3 out of 5. I'd have to say that bite for bite the fish itself might be the best in the county by a hair, but the full entree lags just behind Battery 245 and Ship Out in terms of fry / coleslaw quality, aesthetics, and overall value. But neither of those places are on the Astoria waterfront with million dollar views, so that's to be expected. When we got our menus and the waiter came, I asked about the sides that we can order because those were on the menu. The waiter said, well, we can pretty much make anything a side. That wasn't very helpful. We took a while to decide. When we came back, he pushed us to order something, so we did. I order a salad with salmon. My daughter order veggie kabobs and her best friend ordered a loaded potato. The food 30 minutes to get out. My daughter friend started drinking her soda and it had no carbonation. When the food came, my salmon was cold - it was precooked and just taken out of the fridge straight to the salad. The loaded potato wasn't fully cooked. The kabobs - some of the potatoes were super mushy, while others were fully cooked through and they tasted like lemons. Very tart. Some of the veggies weren't cooked - it was like eating raw veggies - this meal costed $30. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he had a very confused faced. He then stated, I thought I pressed the carbonation button with the soda... huh.. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years. I know that's not how that works. The waiter took off the drinks from the bill - $6.00 and nothing else was said or done about the undercooked food. Very disappointed all around and will never go back again after that.
