Denver 3. Omelette with Hash Browns & Toast
    Ross T.

While in Astoria we walked over from our hotel to Riverwalk Restaurant on the pier to pier #11 to have breakfast. I ordered the Ham & Eggs with pancakes and a coffee which I enjoyed very much it was a local hang out with lots of regular customers. Malia had the Denver omelet with hash browns and toast which she also enjoyed! My wife had 1 of my pancakes and eggs and a part of the Denver omelet and some toast. Because she wasn't that hungry and I knew I couldn't eat 2 pancakes. Service was nice the poor waiter had to take care all the tables by himself with non stop customers coming in and out, doing the serving, taking orders and busing tables. There was no view of the ocean due to it is on the inside facing the street and not facing the ocean on the outer side of the complex. Restroom located outside, which is shared by all tenants there.

    - Best Breakfast of Our Trip! Never judge a book by its cover! Tucked away inside an antique mall, Riverwalk Restaurant turned out to be the surprise hit of our 10-day Oregon and Washington trip. It's an unassuming spot, but hands down served us the best breakfast we had during our entire vacation. Every meal here is generously portioned and comes with eggs and/or meat, making it hearty and satisfying. We ordered the French toast with an egg and bacon, a half order of biscuits and gravy (made from scratch--absolutely fantastic), a side of sausage, and two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs. We also added two à la carte pancakes with a side of bacon, and everything was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. This place may be easy to miss, but it's 100% worth seeking out if you're in Astoria. don't skip it!

Round 2... nailed it again! I can't tell you how incredible the breakfast is... 5 stars for sure! It's a hole in the wall, the place really is deceiving. Pancakes, sausage patties, and the hashbrowns are cooked perfectly! You want an excellent breakfast this is the place!

Great service but odd location inside of antique mall. Great French toast for the kids and I had beans and egg rice. Pretty good.

I stumbled across Goondocks Bistro while I was in town and decided to give it a try. From the moment we sat down, the waitress was incredibly friendly and patient. She made me feel welcome and checked in at the right times without being overbearing. Honestly, service like that goes a long way, and she absolutely earned a 5 out of 5 for service. As for the food, I ordered the ribs and brisket. The ribs were a bit over-seasoned for my taste -- the flavor was strong but a little overpowering. The brisket, unfortunately, was too dry to my liking. I was hoping for something juicy and tender, but it didn't quite deliver. Overall, I just wasn't a fan of the BBQ here. I'd give the food a 2 out of 5. The atmosphere was decent -- nothing particularly over-the-top, but comfortable enough for a casual meal. Since I just happened to find this place while in town, it felt like a solid local spot to try, even if the food didn't wow me. I'd give the atmosphere a 3 out of 5. I'd have to say that bite for bite the fish itself might be the best in the county by a hair, but the full entree lags just behind Battery 245 and Ship Out in terms of fry / coleslaw quality, aesthetics, and overall value. But neither of those places are on the Astoria waterfront with million dollar views, so that's to be expected. If you're craving fish and chips with a view in downtown Astoria, don't hesitate to order them here, the fish was phenomenal.

When we got our menus and the waiter came, I asked about the sides that we can order because those were on the menu. The waiter said, well, we can pretty much make anything a side. That wasn't very helpful. We took a while to decide. When we came back, he pushed us to order something, so we did. I order a salad with salmon. My daughter order veggie kabobs and her best friend ordered a loaded potato. The food 30 minutes to get out. My daughter friend started drinking her soda and it had no carbonation. When the food came, my salmon was cold - it was precooked and just taken out of the fridge straight to the salad. The loaded potato wasn't fully cooked. The kabobs - some of the potatoes were super mushy, while others were fully cooked through and they tasted like lemons. Very tart. Some of the veggies weren't cooked - it was like eating raw veggies - this meal costed $30. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he had a very confused faced. He then stated, I thought I pressed the carbonation button with the soda... huh.. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years. I know that's not how that works. The waiter took off the drinks from the bill - $6.00 and nothing else was said or done about the undercooked food. Very disappointed all around and will never go back again after that.
