While in Astoria we walked over from our hotel to Riverwalk Restaurant on the pier to pier #11 to have breakfast. I ordered the Ham & Eggs with pancakes and a coffee which I enjoyed very much it was a local hang out with lots of regular customers. Malia had the Denver omelet with hash browns and toast which she also enjoyed! My wife had 1 of my pancakes and eggs and a part of the Denver omelet and some toast. Because she wasn't that hungry and I knew I couldn't eat 2 pancakes. Service was nice the poor waiter had to take care all the tables by himself with non stop customers coming in and out, doing the serving, taking orders and busing tables. There was no view of the ocean due to it is on the inside facing the street and not facing the ocean on the outer side of the complex. It's an unassuming spot, but hands down served us the best breakfast we had during our entire vacation. We ordered the French toast with an egg and bacon, a half order of biscuits and gravy (made from scratch--absolutely fantastic), a side of sausage, and two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs. My kids and I just happened to find this cute little restaurant on yelp, we were visiting Astoria for the weekend. We saw the reviews of the biscuits and gravy and just had to take a try. The restaurant is so cute, it's almost hidden on the pier, definitely keep your eyes out for the entryway, the gentleman hostess was inviting and called everyone friend. The pancakes, the French toast, bacon and eggs were all hot and fresh. Plus the restaurant is right next to an antique shop, after eating we did some browsing. The food was classic breakfast fare, it was well prepared, tasty, and to the table quickly. They don't have a big menu with lots of options but they have the classics and do them well and quickly. The service was outstanding. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and seated us. We had a question about a menu item and our waiter gave an amazingly good description. Can't rave more about this place. Small diner like restaurant tucked away in the antique mall. Unassuming and humble exterior with delicious food. The menu is short and makes it easy for anyone with difficulty choosing a meal. Easily the best breakfast I've had in a while: hashbrowns were perfectly golden, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the egg was gooey with no wet whites, gravy was hands down my favorite part of the meal and compliments the biscuits. The man who helped us was initially shy but was very humble and attentive. We are definitely looking to make the road trip up from california to Riverwalk again soon. read more

This location is in Pier 11. It's a small place, about ten tables and has a rustic/nautical decor. I like it. The food was delicious. We all liked our meals. The reason I'm rating it a 3 is because of our server. He looked like an old pirate and he didn't have a friendly personality. We literally watched him discourage people from the place because he had to clean up tables. He would take the cart to clean up tables and would hit chairs (with people in them) along the way. There isn't enough room for it. He did get out orders right and as I mentioned the food was delicious. Our order was taken - very simplistic menu but options fits breakfast needs. Pepsi products. Food took a little time but expected with how busy they were. We chose biscuits & gravy & chicken fried steak. I asked for the gravy on the side & they did it well. We were just walking down the river walk after attending the Sunday Market. Stumbled upon this neat restaurant. Nothing fancy, no frills but people seemed to be enjoying their food. Asked the server "What kind of coffee is this?" He says "100% Arabica". Follow up question "What's the brand?" He replies "Yeah, it's a pretty popular brand, you might have heard of it. It's called Folgers." Haha. Turns out the server is the owner. He started this place up right before the pandemic. He had zero employees and did his best to continue to hire and train all the while cooking and serving. The negative comments from prior guests are selfish and wish they would get removed. They are unfair and not representative of the place now. Such a great story and such a a humble hard working man. The menu was simple. The prices were reasonable. I ordered the half plate of biscuits and gravy, scrambled egg and sausage. Although not the best biscuits and gravy, it was towards the top. It would have been better if thicker gravy. The biscuits were light and fluffy. The cleanliness of the kitchen was impressive. See photos. I hope this place succeeds. A bare-bones, no frills, tasty diner breakfast. They were super busy, but the server (who was really nice) was upfront about the wait time. I loved that they had a half biscuit and gravy option (which was still a whole biscuit!) and they threw in an extra egg for the wait. That whole platter for 8 bucks. My partner got the French toast, and I couldn't even get a taste because he devoured it so fast. Special plug for the sausage links, they were so crispy and juicy. Could the service have been faster? 2stars bc the 2 staff members were amazingly kind and patient. Dark Arts weekend is sure to be slammed for any business in Astoria. We arrived at 1105 expecting to wait a bit and be able to eat a hearty breakfast before going to the festival.. by 1215 I asked the one and only waiter for an eta -- we were still 4 tickets behind and he quoted about 20+ minutes. He profusely apologized said they were understaffed due to a sick call. Again - not his fault at all! The kitchen could have been quicker. 2 cooks back there but only 3 tables were fed their meals in the hour we waited. I'd like to come back and try this charming place when it isn't so busy for them. He comp'd our coffee even tho we begged him to charge us, and we still left him a big tip. Staff is 5Stars. But I wish they prepared better for the crowds this weekend. read more

This place serves perfect, spot-on traditional American breakfast. It's a one man operation, and the poor fellow can get overwhelmed when it gets packed with folks (he being both the waiter and the cook). Be patient. It's worth it. We went to this restaurant on our first day in town and then only ate breakfast here for the rest of our trip. it's very clearly a small mom and pop place.
