Excellent food and excellent service. The food was so bright, balanced and fresh. Truly amazing meal and experience. I dare say the best place to eat in Astoria!

Cucumbers with nasturtium

Great destination restaurant in quaint downtown Astoria. Hubby and I took a chance on a reservation here at the recommendation of a new friend in Portland. We were so pleased with the whole experience! The menu changes weekly so the chef can leverage what's in season. The cucumbers with nasturtiums (our appetizer) had just enough salt and pickling in the components to make a "salad" into an elevated taste experience. We shared the strip loin tartare as well as the marinated "cooked" strip loin as our mains- both were deliciously different takes on a great cut of Painted Hills beef. For dessert, we ordered the peaches and nectarines appetizer. Fruits were juicy and super fresh, and the cheese added the perfect tang. The staff were so warm and welcoming and helped make this a perfect start to our weekend getaway. We hope to be back soon!

We had an amazing meal at Daphne. The service was good but could have been a bit more informative with the tasting & pairing menu. We were a party of 8 who had some amazing wines at the seafood and wine festival earlier in the day. The pairings that were offered with the delicious tasting menu however did not align with the stars. They were out of several of the wines but did not communicate that to our party but instead served something that they thought might go with each course. I by all means am not a wine snob, but I was seated at the table with very educated wine enthusiast with fantastic palette's. If you have the wrong wine notes with certain foods it can totally change the flavors good or bad. Well we will just say they were not all good. The pairings were an additional $50 per person on top of the $85 for the tasting menu experience. It would have been nice to be informed that they were out of certain wines.

A Must-Visit Gem in Astoria: Daphne Our first time at Daphne and it instantly became one of our favorite dining experiences. Every bite was spectacular -- the pork was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the potatoes were perfection, and the fish was some of the best we've ever had, fresh and bursting with flavor. And the desserts? Absolutely sublime. Do not miss the cherry upside-down cake with miso ice cream -- it's next-level delicious and worth the visit alone If you're coming to Astoria, you must stop here or you'll miss an essential restaurant in this wonderful town by the river. Daphne is a beautiful reminder of how amazing food and hospitality can make you fall in love with a place even more.

The food was amazing, what a treat to come to Daphne. We had the tasting menu and loved everything! I definitely will not forget this experience

Hands down one of the best eating experiences I've had from start to finish in a very long time!…read more Terra, our amazing server, and the Bridgewater Bistro team made my 50th birthday dinner experience a truly memorable experience and I am so thankful to them all, they didn't know until I was leaving so no special treatment :). Terra welcomed both me and my husband with kindness and provided us with impeccable service. Couldn't have been more pleased, thank you! True props to the chef and crew!!! From start to finish (appetizer-entry-desert) had so much flavor that each and every bite was an explosion of perfectly seasoned and melded flavors. We had the crab cheese dip, house bread and prosciutto wrapped asparagus for our appetizers, my husband had the Ribeye steak and I had the King Salmon. His large steak was cooked to perfection and the flavors involved in the King Salmon concoction left my tastebuds in awe - seriously BRAVO! With no room left in our bellies we of course ordered the strawberry-rhubarb cobbler and pear margarita sorbet. Both were absolutely to die for. With 24 years of military service, much of it abroad, I've had my fair share of both and I'd put both of these at the very top. I'm a foodie and love the joys food can bring to so many regardless of background or origins. You brought unexpected joy to my life this weekend and for that I'm taking the time to write this review and to say thank you. Can't wait for our next visit to Astoria and to Bridgewater Bistro. I had the clams and mussels chowder and halibut cakes that weren't bad but the highlights were the crab dip with the French / Sourdough bread and the Huckleberry Lemonade . My wife had a ribeye that she said was decent. Our server was excellent. She made sure our meal met our expectations and kept checking in on us. We were surprised that we couldn't find more seafood restaurants for being on the coast.

This is such a gem on the Oregon Coast. I was recently spending some time in Seaside, and…read moreDaughter's is in Gearhart, which is just the town north of Seaside, so pretty quick to get there. It's great to go in the late afternoon or early evening during "golden hour" and sit outside when the weather is nice. The garden doesn't have a view, but it's a nice garden that lets you breathe in the ocean air. The owner is super friendly and helpful, and they stock mostly Oregon and Washington wine, so you get a good Pacific Northwest taste. I had two different glasses, and they were both good and easy to drink. I also got some snacks. The snacks menu is pretty basic and not that extensive, but it's presented in a charming and quaint way. Very homey but sophisticated at the same time. If you like wine and you're in the area, definitely worth checking out.

The wine selection was incredible, the small bites were to die for, the space was gorgeous, and the company was the cherry on top! The coastal ambiance, cozy low lighting in the evenings, and music playlist will make you never want to leave. We shut this place down, laughed with locals, and went home with full bellies and fond memories. After a few months of reminiscing, my boyfriend and I finally took another trip back this August. Without skipping a beat, Megan welcomed us back and remembered details about us like we were lifelong friends. Her knack for hospitality is what makes Daughters truly stand out! As if the friendly greeting wasn't enough, we were also met with a delicious new menu and got to enjoy the dog-friendly patio. I, a notorious red-wine lover, opted for some fresh and fruity options that pleasantly surprised me. The watermelon spritz had hints of sea salt and paired beautifully with the food we ordered. I'm kicking myself for forgetting the name of the dish, but essentially, it was fresh bread, silky cheese, juicy peaches and sea salt all thrown together to make the perfect sweet/salty/savory flavor combination. As always, another 10/10 for Daughters. Near the end of our visit, we finished our last glasses outside with the pups who were spoiled with treats and bowls of fresh water before walking back down to the beach nearby. Daughters is a true gem and so are the employees. No trip to the coast is complete without popping in for a glass of wine and a friendly smile. I'm already planning my next trip back for September!
