We stayed at the Bowline Hotel and WineKraft was just steps away from us. We only had one drink but it was a good spot to grab a drink and look out (right on the dock, river view). The lady that was worker was friendly and they had one of our favorite wines from Soter Vineyard. We didn't have any food but they have bites. read more

This is one of the best places to visit in Astoria, right on the Columbia River. The sea lions bark at you, in a good way (talk shit, when needed- (imagine a match-up between your rival baseball teams!) . This place has the personality of your best friend. So so enchanting! I stumbled on this wine Bar on my Astoria weekend trip and ended up staying for a couple of hours. There was a musician playing cover songs and it was so fun. The view is lovely and the decor is eclectic and classy. Highly recommend. read more

Parking can be a challenge in the waterfront area. Best to look for a spot a couple blocks away such as Marine Drive. Google took us to the Antique Shop at Pier 11 mall. There are signs inside to WineKraft but we still had to search for it. If you approach from 10th street it's easier to locate. The best part is the view of the river and boats. The shop is small and cozy and has indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the front desk and carry your wine to wherever you want to sit. Sadly, we were disappointed in the Red Wine flight and mostly disappointed with the price point. $25 for 3 small pours of wine? That's crazy. In fairness, they will give you 20% off bottle purchases when you buy a flight. Unfortunately, we didn't care for any of the wines we tasted. The young lady that poured for us was very sweet but wasn't that knowledgeable about the wines. And, not their fault at all, you will pass many homeless people and their encampments right near the waterfront where most tourists are too. Pretty discomforting. read more

This is a must stop when in Astoria. We wound up there almost by default as we were heading out after most non "dive bars" were closed. The moment we walked in we were glad we did. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual while still being classy. Rebecca is an amazing host and immediately made us feel welcome. We sat and chatted with both her and the incredibly talented musician, Niall I believe was his name, for about and hour and had a blast. There is something special about being able to connect with someone in that way. Had it not been after dark, the view would have been amazing as it is at the end of the pier. In addition to the atmosphere, the selection of wines is fantastic. They were all good quality and reasonably priced. There are non wine selections if you are so inclined. My wife had a nice kambucha and enjoyed it immensely. My wife and I loved our experience and will definitely be back. PS If you love British shows this is THE place to be!! read more

A superb view of the water, with tables inside and out. Small, but interesting selection of Northwest wines, and you can get a red, white or Pinot flight (at least that was on our visit, maybe it will change, because this is a place that tries to keep things lively). DH and I had the cheese plate with our flights, and it had 4 slices of baguette, a scoop of goat cheese, a hunk of white cheddar, a sliced fig and sliced strawberries (and the strawberry was ripe, not some tasteless supermarket one.) We went in the early evening, but it would be just as nice late in the evening, watching the lighted tankers go by. DH even went back and bought one of the wines. You know that feeling when you get your glass of wine at the wine bar and flfeels like you got an awfully short pour for you $12 glass of wine? Then you sit at your table and watch the next half dozen patrons walk out with their wine and you realize just how truly short your pour was. Then when your charcuterie platter is delivered it's really a small stack of salami, a few cubes of cheese, one slice of white bread (quartered) a strawberry and a few slices of apple. More of a lunch able than a real charcuterie board. I guess that's what you get when tipping a mere 20%. read more
