This is probably the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. Before I came to Astoria I saw a video by Robert Davi(one of the Fratelli's from the Goonies movie)who said if I ever came to Astoria, I need to eat here. So I did. We were seated in a sort of private back room, which was amazing. We didn't have reservations, but just got lucky because it was early. We ordered some appetizers and drinks. The classic antipasto and Piadina(I think) bread. Both were delicious. When deciding on the main courses, I ordered the cioppino. Extraordinary. Two of my friends ordered the crab pesto dish, which was just as amazing. Tiramisu for dessert finished the meal off strong. All I can say is the service and food was exceptional. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with this establishment. If I'm ever in Astoria again. I will definitely come back multiple more times to see if I can find anything wrong. This place has a nice ambiance and service is attentive and pleasant. We were doing an early Valentine's dinner and had high hopes. The martinis were delicious and came quickly. Our first plate was warmed olives with balsamic drizzle and quite nice. We paired them with the house tomato basil soup. A hefty one. Fulio's a really great local restaurant. The staff is friendly, the ambience is relaxing, and the food is delicious. I went her with my wife & two small children for a nice Mother's Day dinner. It can be a bit of a gamble taking small children to a nice restaurant like this but they were very accommodating. I had the smoked salmon Alfredo, it was wonderful. Sat us quickly. Server efficient and humorless. Great, inexpensive mocktails. HUUUUGE portions. Caesar salad was great but needed anchovy option. They had these odd red tomato looking garnishes that turned out to be Sweety Drop Peppers, also known as Biquinho peppers or Incan Red Drops. These small, tear-shaped peppers originated in the Peruvian Amazon. And they are delish and apparently easy to grow! Crab pesto - again huge portion. Rich. Good. I had the chicken piccata- always my go to - and usually has a ton of capers and is on a bed of angel hair. They do it as a single breast, on top of asparagus, with scant capers, and a side of pasta with red or white sauce. I chose white/alfredo. It was tender and moist but I missed the capers and felt the side of pasta didn't play well with the chicken. And a red sauce version IMO wouldn't have either. First time trying this spot. Food was delicious. Chicken Marsala had a very good sauce. My daughter had the filet mignon and she enjoyed it. Nice glass of wine with the meal. We enjoyed the tiramisu for dessert. Will be coming back to try more of the offerings. Service was excellent. What a fabulous restaurant, and a real Astoria gem this is! I knew of, and had eaten at Fulio's years ago. My wife and I both were visiting overnight in town this weekend and chose Fulio's for dinner. We had the most wonderful meals of Chicken Marsala (incredibly delicious) and Squash Ravioli (equally delicious as well), and a Seafood Antipasti as a starter. The food, the wine, the ambiance, and the service were all top shelf, and at times were even attended Alan, by the owner. High praise, high marks! read more

Well it was our first time. We decided to sit in the Lounge. First thing I noticed was how close the tables were to each other. We ordered drinks, they were tasty. We ordered salad, split like the server suggested. She'd said that the salad was a pretty good size. It wasn't, our two salads together wouldn't have been a good size. We had no silverware. So we ate the salad with our fingers. When the server noticed, she quickly brought some, offered us free dessert. Our meal came and it was absolutely delicious. I was hoping for more complimentary bread, but none came. We were celebrating an event that night. So we came here specifically. All in all, I felt like we were just another table that they didn't have time for. I might add that the gentleman two tables down seemed to have their undivided attention. They were at his beck and call. Although it seemed they couldn't get his order correct either. People come to Fulio's for special occasions. We won't be back. I expected better. First visit to Fulio's however, it won't be our last. We had Friday evening reservations, showed up on time and were immediately seated in a cozy window booth adjacent to the front door and check in station. That turned out not to be an issue as the barrier rose above the seat, blocking the chilly breeze when customers entered. Service was friendly and attentive, our waitstaff knew her roll and seem to show up at the right time without interrupting our conversation. The bread with oil was tasty, my bride's traditional cheesy lasagna was delicious, and my tomato based Cioppino was chock full of clams, prawns, calamari, fish and pasta. Food prices are modest and affordable however at $20 a glass for very modest house wines, inconsistent! Other area restaurants are $12-14 for similar choices. So, we stayed hydrated with tap water and all in all, enjoyed a delightful visit in historic downtown Astoria! read more

We were there on the early side and during off season, hence there were plenty of seatings available. The eggplant parmesan had good sauce, healthy portion, and right amount of cheese. Bread and olive oil appetizer was complementary, which is rare these days. Wine was very affordable and good. Other vegetarian pity available as well. We went to Fulios because it has amazing reviews so I thought we were safe. We both ordered filets, medium rare. Mine was perfect but they overcooked my husband's - by a lot. He wasn't going to say anything but the server could tell there was an issue. So, she took it and said they would remake it. Then, the owner comes to our table and ARGUES with us and said he saw it "in the light" and it was perfect. (while there is still no food so like, what are we supposed to say to that?) So, my husband is like "whatever" and at this point is just hungry. Then the nice server comes back to our table and says the owner is going to remake the steak himself. THEN HE BRINGS A RIBEYE. Places it on the table and leaves before we can say a thing. At this point, my husband would have eaten the ribeye (which usually is a pretty good cut of beef) because he was hungry, but the server comes right over and asks if everything looks okay. So, I let our server know that although we will keep this steak we are not going to pay the Filet price for a ribeye and the guy comes back and says oh my bad I'm sorry and again, takes food away. Then like 20 minutes later he brings a SIRLOIN!! I don't know if they ran out of Filets and just wouldn't tell us (which would have been okay we would have just ordered the chicken) or if the owner thought we wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a sirloin and filet but either way this was so incredibly insulting and offensive. I felt so bad because mine was perfectly cooked and tasted great. And it's not like my husband is a complainer, I'm sure I spoke up more than he did because he was hungry, but both of us know steaks, and all we ever order are filets because of their unique and superior texture. The server was very nice and I felt so bad for her. She must have been embarrassed. I hope she quits and finds employment elsewhere. Although after all this, nothing else really mattered, the cocktails were subpar in flavor, but I loved that they had Montepulciano by the glass. The bread was good. I saw another review upset that they didn't use garlic and just wanted to let them know authentic Italian kitchens don't use a lot of garlic. I had the pasta with red sauce to accompany my steak and the sauce was good (the pasta was a bit mushy). I love Astoria, and there are many great restaurants to choose from. When traveling through Oregon, we decided to spend some time in Astoria. We had dinner at Fulio's one night. The restaurant was packed and also had a large party going on. The service was friendly when first entering the restraint, but once seated, the waitress seemed bothered. She had no recommendations on anything on the menu. Not that she was saying anything wrong about the food, but she just had no suggestions or guidance on what stood out. She seemed put out with helping customers. We all ordered something different, and everything was good but not outstanding! The best part was the sausage I ordered on the side. We had a Ceaser salad, a bowl of milestone soup (which we didn't care for), fettuccine alfredo, lasagna with a side of meatballs, and Penne Arrabiata, a Garlic and chili flake infused marinara sauce (it want spicy at all). The food was tasty, with large portions. I would recommend Fulio's. read more

Maybe they misspelled the name because only a fool would pay this much for food so subpar. Service was attentive and friendly. There were no qualms there. The staff seems to know how to hustle during a busy Valentine's Day dinner rush. However, the other reviewers stating how disappointing the Veal Parmigiana (truly) was were not wrong. Missed the mark by a few thousand yards. Hell, it wasn't even in the same park. It was thin, overcooked and chewy and the sauce tasted burned. To add insult to injury, for as much time as it spent over heat, it was lukewarm in the middle. No thick crispy breading. Hardly any cheese. I wonder if a TV dinner would have been more satisfying ... For my dish, the Scampi, well, I don't think I've had worse. Another reviewer said the sauce was just bell peppers and oil with some lemon and they are also correct. I've never had a scampi without a generous amount of garlic or butter. Honestly, I kept on eating it thinking it would get better, but it didn't -- The table bread was the only real stand out item and the rest were lacking decent execution, flavor and substance. It made me wish we had a Buca Di Beppo out this way before they went totally corporate and started cutting corners. If you don't mind a drive down the coast and a quiet night in Seaside, go to Nonni's. Their food far exceeds what this place has to offer. read more

From the first phone call with Lexi to our waitress Kylie, the ambiance, and the food were all amazing! My call to Fulio's to request reservations was answered by Lexi. The conversation went like this: Me: Do I need reservations for tonight? Lexi: No, it's pretty dead. Me: I hope it wasn't the food (ha-ha). Lexi: No, we heard you were coming and we kicked everyone else out. Me: Well, good. Thanks for recognizing how special we are. It is my wife's birthday, and she's pretty special. She took my name down. We arrived at 6 pm to dine. But wait! There were PEOPLE in MY restaurant! What's up with that, Lexi? :-) We ordered a house salad with blue cheese dressing (both of us), veal parmesan (me) and eggplant parmesan (my wife). Before even the salads arrived Kylie brought us bread. Oh good lord! THE BREAD! My wife is not the carbivore that I am, but I thought she was going to cancel her meal and just eat the bread. She kept trying to describe it, but wasn't doing well. I encouraged her to continue trying to describe it so I could sneak a slice or two extra for myself (she never saw through my cunning plan). The salads were really good. The blue cheese dressing was actually a dressing with REAL blue cheese on one side of the bowl! So good. Then came the meals... my veal was so tender and so flavorful. My wife raved about her eggplant, too. My wife requested a box to take home the last few bites of her meal and she claimed the last TWO peices of bread (TWO!!). She asserted her "Birthday Girl" privilege and I acquiesced. We ordered two pieces of lemon cheesecake. Order. The. Lemon. Cheesecake! (You're welcome). And guess what? On top of the standard pasta dishes and salads Fulios has several additional options for vegetarians. The menu does not identify the vegetarian dishes. Having had a late lunch we skipped appetizers (leaving room for desert) and ordered the Eggplant Parmesan and Squash Ravioli. My partner enjoyed the Squash Ravioli with its subtle curry flavored sauce. The eggplant parm was decent but could have used a sauce with stronger flavors. Both went well with the red wine we ordered. The highlight of the meal was the desert; the Lemon Cheesecake was sublime. Service was good but somewhat casual (you guys?)...we both smiled about it. Saw this restaurant as we were shopping around. They weren't opened yet but the door was opened and we went in to make a dinner reservation. We ordered the Caesar salad with added shrimp, a steamer clam linguine and a cioppino. After we ordered they brought out bread (maybe ciabatta) with a side of balsamic olive oil mix. The olive oil tasted old. The cioppino was too thick of a tomato based sauce, but still good. The clam linguine was loaded with lots of clams, and lots of garlic slices (after picking out the garlic), it was delicious. Server was slow and our waitress forgot some condiments that we asked for. When the bill came the waitress advised us if we paid with cash it would save us the credit card fee. Overall, good dining experience. read more

Have been going to Fulio's at least once a year for decades. What can I say, always a great meal and great service.

As I continued my drive along 101, I was recommended to stop by Fulio's. This was a great stop and let me tell you why. The. Food. Is. Fresh. !. I had the piadina which was very well balanced between the fresh tomatoes, capers, parmesan cheese and roasted garlic. I asked the waitress (Lexi) to share her favorite dish or what she would recommend. She mentioned the Checca and this dish was worth the extra weight and the extra workout to burn the calories. It had a small kick but not over the top. The fresh tomatoes , basil and prawns with the white sauce was just right balanced. You could taste the acidity, the freshness, the salt and the pasta was cooked properly. I asked to try their Ragu meat sauce and I had a kid's side of it and it was very good. Not very greasy from the meat but hearty and you can taste the tomatoes but most importantly the love ! I asked (Lexi) if their Tiramisu is made in house and it is. So you know that I have to take one for the team and order it. The Tiramisu was just amazing! Not very sweet but you can taste the coffee and the whipped mascarpone with the chocolate powder all to balanced the flavor and you can tell it was made in house. If you live here, you MUST come and support your local economy while gaining weight. If you are a traveler, you need to stop by and try this food because you will not regret it! Solid 4 star close to 5 star. Didn't have a reservation so we sat on the bar side and had fabulous service and food. The charred Caesar salad is to die for and the linguine with clams was outstanding. We asked to split the bowl when we ordered and I think they gave us more clams for the second bowl. We found street parking on Duane St and put our name on the list at Fulio's around 7:10pm on a Saturday night. There was a 35min wait for our party of 2, so we just walked around town. I'd call ahead and make a reservation next time! There was complimentary bread which was warm and yummy. There was a fairly wide menu and I think it would be fun to come for drinks and appetizers. We both ordered pastas, the ragu and the smoked salmon fettuccine alfredo. These bowls were deceivingly massive, and we ended up taking half home to eat for dinner the next day. We had Italian in Seaside the night before but all that did was make us want something that was good. So we made the trek to Astoria and found what we were craving. It started with something simple like extra virgin olive oil for the bread! The seared Caesar was good to the last bite. I almost considered eating the root end but thankfully dinner arrived on queue! The piccata was good, a bit too much lemon in my opinion but good. We went to Fulio's to celebrate our wedding anniversary earlier this week. It was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The food, service, and ambiance were superb. We ordered the olive appetizer and split a spinach salad which was truly the best we have ever had. My husband ordered the Veal Marsala and I had the Checca pasta dish with prawns. Both meals were expertly prepared and very delicious. Their bread with the dipping oil was so good. We especially loved those tiny Peruvian red peppers used as a garnish on the salad and the Checca. The servings were all very generous too. We were so full that we had to pass on dessert, but maybe next time we will try to save room for the lemon cheesecake. We will definitely be going back there the next time we are in Astoria. read more

Born and raised in this town - we didn't have Fulio's when we were a kid growing up - but left at 19 and lived in Portland then moved to San Diego and now in East Texas - experienced lots of restaurants during that time. Moved back to Astoria in 2011 and was excited our small little town grew up with all these choices of restaurants and discovered Fulio's and enjoyed dining here on several occasions. Food is always great and waitress Wendy has always been super nice to us when we come in or ordered out! Their food you can never go wrong and their cocktails are pretty good too. Recommendation would be their seared grilled chicken Caesar salad and the appetizer Spedini. My boyfriend LOVES their lasagna and their steaks are fabulous too.
