Hands down.. this place! We walked over and from our hotel where I got a order of the Apple Cinnamon butter hush puppies and a Shrimp Po Boy! Pricing my feel steep at first but it's not once you see the portions! I ate on both of these for two meals! Po Boy was well seasoned, came with lots of shrimp, and was well done. Fries that came with it were homemade and amazing. Now hands down star of the show is the hush puppies. That butter is to die for! Just order them. You will be impressed. Damn! Damn! Daaaaamn! This was SO GOOD! My husband and I shared the Mac & Cheese. The portion was a large one (perfect for sharing) but now we're thinking of all the goodness we had to pass up on the menu! The Po' Boy for one. Anyway, I digress so back to the Mac. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection - just enough tasty batter and crunch to the moist chicken. The green onions (optional) were a nice flavorful touch to an already perfect mac. First time ever eating chicken & waffles and was absolutely delicious, chicken was battered and cooked perfectly - fresh cut French fries which were seasoned well . Fried pickle chips w Cajun aioli, Stacked mac w bacon, fried chicken,& green onions (for a fresh veggie option),& a side order of fried shrimp ($8)! Everything was executed perfectly, and the portions were huge! BEASTED! Holy Moly, this food truck was so insanely good. The man who runs the pizza shop in the same lot recommended it as we were taking shelter from the rain in his shop. We got the Mac and Cheese and Shrimp Po Boy. Each were around $17 which I thought was a little steep but the portions we got were HUGE so definitely worth it. The guys who ran the truck were so nice. We were ravenous so I was pleasantly surprised when my meal also came with fries and extra shrimp. I do wish the batter for the shrimp has been seasoned a little stronger but aside from that this place is a great pick. I feel bad doing 3 stars compared to all the great reviews but my fries were not crunchy and I thought the po boy lacked acidity. The shrimp in the grits and po boy were cooked perfectly. The grits weren't my favorite texture wise but the flavor was great. Just overall I had an okay taste adventure. I am the odd ball for the reviews but I have had much better in the south when I visit my family. Staff is friendly. It's worth trying and creating your own opinion on the food. I agree with everyone that the portions are very generous. read more

The shrimp po boy rocks!!! I gotta tell you the price was a bit higher than I wanted to spend for a quick lunch but this lady flashed her lunch box to show her friend what she got and I caught just a glimpse and was all in! The sandwich was excellent, great taste and interesting flavors from the crispy pickles. The shrimp was awesome, not too crispy or over breaded and plenty of it! Jim was my cashier and he was amusing and quick! Jordan the owner and I chatted and I was impressed that he has been there for a very resilient 6 years! Well done! I am coming back soon to try some more stuff on this intriguing and fun little food truck corner in Astoria's downtown and can't wait to try some more stuff. read more

Fantastic fried chicken is surprisingly difficult to find. Look no further. Perfectly crispy batter that's thoroughly seasoned but not overly spicy covers moist meat cooked to perfection. I've heard so many great things about the food and service at Surf 2 Soul, and today I finally got to see what all the hype is about. Let me tell you--this place is legit and lives up to the hype! Both the food and the service are top-notch. I tried the Red Bean and Rice Burger, and it was downright delicious. The only thing bigger than the portions is the flavor. Food made with love and passion. Food recap: Which came first - savory waffle - chive and bacon. Crispy seasoned fried chicken. Pimento cheese - warm ooey gooey. Dip it in syrup - put a lil hot sauce on it. Fries were EXCELLENT. Fried pickles - savory with a hint of sweet. Paired great with the aioli. Super thin. Crispy. Stacked Mac - perfectly fried chicken, well seasoned, crispy! Mac and cheese - Creamy, smooth, great consistency, perfectly seasoned. Peach cobbler - Perfectly sweet, peaches weren't over cooked, the crumb was delicious and complimented the sauce very well. If I wasn't so full I would have gotten everything on the menu. I am so happy I finally tried this place! I've been craving macaroni and cheese idont know why I never ate it growing up but I was on the hunt to find some. I ordered through Surpalicious (great service by the way) and my food came hot and fresh. Macaroni is bomb! Enough to feed 2 or 3 people for sure. The chicken is so juicy its just perfect! Now for someone who doesn't eat pickle I'm surprised my anxious self ordered fried pickle. I love shrimp but it was one or the other and I know shrimp is great so I thought I'd try the pickle. It's yummy!! If I had someone here to share with it'll be perfect side to eat with. Cajun is a little spicy for me but the aioli is delicious! Nice kick to compliment the pickles. He know what it is. THE BEST FOOD IN THE ENTIRE CLATSOP COUNTY. Nobody is topping this guys menu. The vibe and everything was so spectacular and just WELCOMING. Ordered the fried pickle chips and chicken Mac n cheese. Fried pickle chips were a huge portion. Excellent flavor and the dipping sauce was good too. There was a bit of oil underneath and probably could've been drained another 10 seconds longer. They were clearly made to order, very hot and fresh. The chicken Mac n cheese was excellent. Used a few types of cheese, flavored nicely, pasta cooked perfectly. Chicken was hot and crispy. Not greasy at all. Everything was priced fairly and the guy working the trailer was very friendly and you could tell he was passionate about his food. Didn't know it was a trailer until I showed up. It's in a parking lot with other food trailers. This particular one isn't trying too hard unlike some of the other hipster trailers there. So don't let the bare outside look fool you. Most importantly, the food is delicious and I can't make it at home. And not just because I don't have a fryer. However, the part that made me extra happy was when I brought leftovers home to my extended family's beach rental, my brother snarfed down the generous serving of leftover cold French fries (despite my my numerous offers to reheat them in the oven) and ditto for my mom with the leftover Mac and cheese which she declared to be up there with the best. Even cold. Food is good. The fella working there was lovely, the servings extremely generous and my 84 year old mom loved my left overs. What more could I ask for? read more

This food truck is located just a couple blocks walk from the wharf/dock area, so it was quick and easy to have a meal with a view! I got the stacked Mac and it was honestly kind of life changing. I will never like normal Mac and cheese the same way. I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. Unfortunately, one of the cookies that was ordered, nothing was listed as having chocolate in it, and my wife has issues with chocolate. It is pretty well known that in the food service industry, chocolate and peanuts are one of those things that you should never mess with when it comes to people's intake. The lady I talked to on the phone a day later mentioned that it was vegan chocolate if it made a difference, and quite frankly, I can see where at some level that might make a difference for the dairy, but in the bigger picture, it doesn't make a bit of difference as it is chocolate that is an issue not the dairy. The bottom line is it should've had a label on the shelf tag and it did not. In our opinion, it should even have a listing of the type of chocolate (dark, lite, etc ). As that could have been a hospitalizations worse. Then, at the end of the conversation, the person I talking to was dismissive and just wanted to move on -- clearly not somebody that should be answering the phones if she's not gonna fully listen (even though she said she did) to the very valid concern. She said that there's a recipe book that we could've asked about if we had any concerns. The concern was that there was no listing on the label of the cookie that was on the shelf. Something as simple as "contains chocolate" could have averted this whole situation.

You order at a food cart and sit down in a generous greenhouse type shelter which also sells funky wall decorations, mugs, beach bric-a-brac. A fountain in the middle of the eating area sounded beautiful mingled with the sound of bird sing in the partially open roof. We were greeted by a friendly young woman behind the high window of the cart. Both my companion and I ordered halibut fish and chips. We are glad we did! I consider myself a fish and chips connoisseur and these were some of the best I've had. The halibut was flaky and perfectly cooked. The batter was light and flavorful and properly greasy. The French fries were also incredible--crispy and perfect. Both the fish and the chips were steaming hot when they were delivered to our table. The servings were generous. The side of coleslaw was fresh and tasty. The meals were not inexpensive, but both of us were glad we sprang for these. I think Ship Out will be on regular rotation when we go to the Oregon Coast!

They even allowed 3 of us a couple years ago to stay and use their Internet to work. Of course we kept buying coffee and food, that is a must for taking up their customer space. The service and friendliness of this place is top notch from any coffee shop I have been too. I really would love to keep this place a secret, but I want them to be here when I return so if you are in town please go visit them and hang iut for a bit with some coffee and food.
