All of their pastries and bread are homemade every day. They also have a good selection of different coffees and teas. I got a bear claw and a berry scone I believe it was called as well as an amazing mocha. Deliciously fresh. The service is as friendly as it gets. It's the kind of spot I would go to on a daily basis if I lived there. Unfortunately I only got to try it once as we were leaving the next day. I wish I would've tried it sooner, but I won't forget the amazing pastries and coffee.

The espresso was incredibly smooth, rich, and flavorful. It was so good that as soon as I finished it, I ordered another one. The space is fairly small, so seating is limited, but the quality of the coffee more than makes up for it. The atmosphere has an industrial-modern, no-frills feel. Rusty Cup Cafe is clearly a business that is focused on making exceptional coffee--and it absolutely shows. I will definitely stop here again the next time I'm in Astoria!

Half of the place is the bar, half of the place is the restaurant. They even have a small gift shop in the corner of the restaurant. When you first walk in, you check in with the bartender, and then you just find a seat in the restaurant. I was served quickly. I decided to go for a cup of the smoked clam chowder, and the rockfish fish and chips. You have several different choices of what kind of fish you want for your fish and chips. They also have a good choice of other items on the menu Once I put in my order, the food comes quickly. The clam chowder was amazing. The smokiness of the clams Comes over into the soup. It was a smoky flavor, but it did not overwhelm the soup. It complimented it very well. There was a very generous portion of the clams and other ingredients. Dear Lord, I couldn't believe the size of that platter of fish and chips. Two giant pieces of rockfish, a very generous portion of fries, and a coleslaw. You also get ketchup for your fries, and a very delicious tartar sauce. I liked the coleslaw. It was not overdressed, and had just a little bit of a peppery bite. The pepper did not overwhelm the coleslaw. The fish was not overly battered, and not greasy at all. The fish was flaky and rich. The fries had just a littlle bit of a crisp on the outside, and were perfectly tender on the inside. The entire meal was amazing. It was so big, I brought one of the pieces of rockfish and about half of my fries back to my motel for breakfast the next morning. It heated up perfectly in the microwave and was just as good the following morning. For all I got, the price was extremely reasonable, and they also do a military/veterans discount.
