Wow!! This place has some really nice waiters and waitresses. I felt very for them as they were super busy this morning. With the crab and seafood festival going on they might not have been staffed up enough for all the patrons they had to serve. I got the Denver omlette and it was probably the worst omlette one could ever have. I think it was like $20.00 as well. My wife got the salmon hash with eggs and I think she only got one scrambled egg with her breakfast. The toast came to her after she was done with her breakfast. The same thing happened to my buddy as well who did not get his toast. They said their bloody Mary's had a lot of alcohol in them bit not much taste. Oh well it was a good place to check out once. We came here on our first night in Astoria, we just came from the Portland airport!! Food: Pretty yummy! I had the supreme burger with the mushrooms, bacon, and Swiss, and that was super good. The mayo/aioli was very good and added a nice flavor. There was a good amount of avocado which I was especially grateful for. The fries were good, not the best I've had, could use with a little seasoning or something. Service: We came right before closing and they were very nice and let us come in! Was a neat little cafe that my wife and I visited while going to Costco for groceries. Ambiance was nice and the staff were friendly, however I wish our server would have told us that the kitchen was behind when we arrived. After our order was placed a family was seated next to us and their server (different from ours) told them the kitchen was behind and food would take about 45 minutes. We were already 20 minutes in at this point so we decided to stick it out... 30 minutes later the family seated next to us had their food delivered to them and then our food was brought to us 5 minutes after that. The food was good, but didn't make up for the long wait. I had the Dagwood which was a pretty good sandwich and my wife had the soup and salad. We might try Uptown again because they did have a lot of options... we'll just make sure to ask if the kitchen is behind next time. read more

I have been here only twice but thislast time is the last. Both times a particular female employee is always rude and seems annoyed by anyone's presence. My daughter tried gravy covered chicken and biscuits. The gravy was absolutely disgusting. No flavor except for undercooked flour. Then clearly our plates had been sitting under a hot lamp for awhile as a film had already developed on the top of the gravy. read more

We visited The Uptown Cafe for breakfast on a Monday morning. There was no wait for a table we were greeted by friendly staff and we were offered coffee right away. Mmmmm coffee! We ordered French toast with eggs and bacon, a side of home fries and the oatmeal with biscuits. The food arrived quickly. The portions were huge. The French toast was yummy, the bacon was cooked perfectly. The oatmeal came with died fruit, cream and brown sugar. The side order of home fries was an entire plate full. I have to say the biscuits that I lavished with black berry jam was delightful. The restaurant was decorated with fun signs and we could tell this was a good place to be because of the table of older gentleman enjoying each other's company. The first thing I noticed when we stopped in for lunch, was the very cute "PNW-country-chic" decor. The artwork was beautiful, and made for a lovely setting for a midday stop. Adding to the loveliness was our kind server. The kid's menu was decent, although I do wish there were better protein options. The chicken strips were excellent. Our party also had the kids nachos. I wonder if we could have added a meat to this? The chips tasted homemade and were tasty. The shrimp tacos were excellent, and I would definitely order these again on a return visit. No sides came with these two street tacos, making for a very light (although delicious) lunch. The fish tacos were also a very solid choice, and these came with chips. read more

This is a solid breakfast stop amongst all of the big box stores in Warrenton. That said, it's in a strip mall, so the ambiance isn't ideal. But the location is great when you want breakfast on the weekly trip to Costco. The menu carries all the traditional American breakfast favorites, prepared well. Good bread, which means good toast! Decent prices. And top notch service. One pro tip: avoid sitting right in front on cold rainy days. The. The food, service, and price is excellent. The uptown cafe was recommended from a friend of mine who lives local. I had a French dip with fries. They have the most amazing home made ketchup. My 4 year old son had cold hands from playing outside and the server gave him a cup of warm water with a lid on it that he could warm up his hands without spilling it on him. We will be coming here every time we visit the coast. Next time I will post pictures. read more

We had breakfast there and ordered a latte and decaf coffee. My coffee stayed hot the whole time I ate. I ordered a small meal with Pancake, 1 egg & 1 sausage. We have been customers in this restaurant space since the building was finished and the first restaurant opened. The quality of the food and the service has varied over the years. Sometimes it is good and sometimes not so good. We were there today. Our server was nice and did her best. I ordered Manhattan as a cocktail. I think the drink is not unusual but what I received was not close. I wonder if she confused the vermouth and whiskey so I got 2/3 vermouth and 1/3 whiskey? The wine was fine. The food good enough We have been customers since the first restaurant opened in this space years ago. We return by habit. There are worse restaurants. On the other hand, a full bar requires a bartender who can make drinks or at least be given a book that has drink recipes in it that can be followed. read more

First time coming here this morning, I've heard good reviews so I was excited to finally try it. The menu was great and had a variety of options. I got the omelet with Tillamook cheese, avacado, tomatoes and bacon and it was so good! Great portion size and it was $14 totally worth it. I lole the ambiance of the cafe it was dimmed light so it made me a lot more comfortable and casual, I think I'd totally go back for the ambiance on its own and try something different if I wasn't too keen on the food, but the ambiance is a bonus because the food is great!. This place was good it was busy when we went there only few table left and we got served in few minutes and the food was great

First time in was on Sunday, so we expected a wait. We're quickly seated, and ordered. Waited 40 minutes, watched a bigger party seated after us served, so, asked if they could check on our order. Was rudely told that it was next. Waited another 5 minutes and decided to leave. Server returns from the kitchen with 1 of our 2 meals, not as ordered. Typically, when this happens, there are the usual apologies and concern for the customer experience. Not in this case, the staff acted as if they were doing us a favor. Don't know if the food was good or bad, wasn't going to trust it after the rudeness of the serving staff. read more

Uptown Cafe is surprisingly cute for being in the corner of a strip mall. We came in just before 11 on a Sunday, and were seated immediately. Somehow the table next to us, which was seated later, had water and orders taken before us. Not a big deal, really... but always a little annoying. I ordered a short stack of pancakes with a side of bacon. As expected for a Sunday morning, our food did take a bit to come out, which made me wonder if my pancakes sat under a warmer for a while; as they came out with a bit of a tough top side. Once I lathered with butter, the outsides softened up, and they were thick and fluffy. The bacon was nicely cooked, but wasn't anything special. My biggest complaint is that Uptown doesn't serve real maple syrup with their pancakes. The miniature, old-fashioned looking syrup dispensers are very cute, but whatever they are filling them with is disgusting, and likely more HFCS than anything else. The rest of the morning, I couldn't get the cloyingly sweet, vanilla-like flavor off of my palate. Seriously, add 50 cents to every dish that might use maple syrup, and order some to replace whatever you're serving. Overall, the meal satisfied my breakfast craving, and my wife really enjoyed her banana bread French toast; so I'll go with a generous 4 stars. read more

Since the start, the lady was complaining about us coming in 45 minutes before closing and was very unwelcoming. At the end, she put everything on one ticket, and when we told her that wasn't what we wanted, she complained. Then, as we were leaving, she actually threatened to call the cops and ICE on us. Our destination for lunch was the Bowpicker in Astoria, but it was closed for a family emergency so we ventured on and just happened upon this place in a strip mall. That being said, the inside of the restaurant was a pleasant surprise from the outside impression. I don't recall what my husband had but I had a dish with chicken, biscuits, gravy and cheese. It was a delicious, hearty and filling breakfast (with leftovers) and we were very happy to find this little hidden gem! We hope to return on another trip. read more

What a surprise this place turned out to be. It looks small from the outside but it's actually a nice sized restaurant. We were seated right away. The menu had a lot of items on it so there were choices for everyone. There is also an outside patio. We noticed several people had their dogs with them so it's nice having a place to have a meal that your furry friend can be with you. We ordered a breakfast item and also the fish'n chips. Both were very good. We actually bragged about the fluffy pancakes and the moist and delicious cole slaw. The only things we did not like is our water glasses were never refilled and we had to go to the counter to get our check because it was never left at our table. Getting out of the parking lot area is a mess. There is one way in and one way out of the shopping center. The back up was proof that they needed another driveway. read more

Dropped by for Sunday brunch and food unfortunately did not taste good. Whether it be the omelet or the easy over eggs, the eggs tasted plastic and spongy, kind of like the ones you'd get on an airplane meal or through the "AS SEEN ON TV" gadgets. Service was none existent after getting our plates, no check in to make sure food was okay and no refill on coffee. A favorite haunt of mine. Consistently good food. Service is almost always exemplary.

This place hit the spot for my friends and I. When we went on a Saturday morning it seemed to us they were understaffed for the amount of people dining that morning. The two women serving were really running around to get everyone helped. They did a great job though. The server we had we attentive and got the food out to us within about 15 minutes. I got the French toast and it was good. I would say 4/5. But I'd probably try the banana bread french toast next time. The overall experience was positive and with how busy they were and the good service I'm giving them a 5/5 overall. read more
