Arnie's Cafe is a must stop for my family every time we head to the beach. It has become part of our tradition, and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious and exactly what you want from a classic, comforting café. This place can get very busy, especially during peak beach hours, but it is always worth the wait. Even when they are slammed, the staff remain kind, welcoming, and efficient, which really says a lot. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. My goto breakfast place in the Astoria area. Servings are huge! We had Arnie's Hobo, a side of hashbrowns and a sausage breakfast sandwich. The gravy is seasoned well, the biscuit - big and fluffy, the hashbrowns are nice and crispy and the sausage patty was nice and juicy. All of the food was hot. Service is always pleasant. We went early so we didn't have to wait, it does get busy. If you're a veteran, be sure to let them know and you will get a 10% discount. read more

Extremely friendly and attentive wait staff, no wait, bakery goods to die for (highly recommend the cinnamon roll but honestly everything looked amazing!), delicious Arnie's eggs benedict. What a great little find on our way to Seaside. This place is so cute! Totally casual environment, names on the windows of employees, lots of fun art and sayings on the walls. Inside there's a bakery and coffee stand if you're not wanting to stay for breakfast you can grabe a pastryto go. We didn't have to wait long for a table but shortly after being seated the place filled up. The menu has options for everyone. Becky G. was our server and she was wonderful. Helped with decision making based on customer favorites, engaging, funny and attentive. Our food was delicious! Portions were plenty and we took food back with us. Great little breakfast-lunch place just outside of Astoria. Love it when a restaurant serves both breakfast and lunch, because my husband isn't a big fan of breakfast food. We were told it would be about a 10-15 minute wait, which was fine, but it ended up being less than 5 minutes! Customer service was absolutely amazing, especially considering it's a busy holiday weekend. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, but the only reason for it not being 5 was that the food wasn't anything over the top. My husband got "The Dip" and I got the Corned Beef Hash, both were just average. I still highly recommend this cute little Cafe if you're in the area for the customer service alone!!! read more

Recently came here during a trip to Astoria and it was an ok establishment. We were sat fast and the coffee was kept full. I ordered the Meat Lover's B&G (Biscuit and Gravy) and one side pancake. The gravy and the meat mix on top were delicious. The biscuit itself was tough, but after letting is sit and soak in some gravy moisture, it was ok. The pancake I ordered on the side, however, was absolutely terrible. It was so tough, I had to cut it with a knife...not ok. The service was super friendly. Super popular breakfast spot in downtown Warrenton. It's spic and span clean and bright and accommodating, and the staff is dialed. The place works like a well-oiled machine, turning over rushhour tables fast, taking orders fast, keeping your coffee cup filled, and getting food out fast. This is standard American breakfast fare. Eggs and hashbrowns. Chicken fried steak. House-made corned beef hash. Pancakes and waffles. Eggs Benedict. A signature series of biscuits and sausage gravy. All well-prepared. All of that said (I'm speaking of the weekends when I tend to go out for breakfast), the place is packed and waits can be really long. That's why I gave 4 rather than 5 stars. In this regard, I suppose they're a victim of their own success. Last time I was there (a Sunday) there were 10 parties ahead of us, and a 45 minute wait. While that might not seem unusual in Portland during Sunday brunch, it's a long wait for the North Coast. The food is good, but it's not something particularly exceptional that I'd want to stand in line for. There are breakfast places nearby (I live in Astoria) without a wait that have food every bit as good. That being the case, it's hard to justify waiting so long for a table. read more

Although pretty busy with the weekend breakfast crowd, service was friendly and the order ready fairly fast. We had a couple of egg plates and everything was tasty. I would say that although my hash browns were cooked well and nicely crunchy, I ended up stealing my hubby's breakfast potatoes (so good...yum). The sourdough with mine wasn't my fav, so I stole his English muffin too. :) Regardless of the breakfast thievery, it was a good meal. We would definitely stop by again. read more

The Riley sandwich was very good, and although covered in jalapeños, it wasn't screaming hot. Just great flavor with a pinch of heat. Found this gem of a place for brunch while in Warrenton. Unassuming restaurant but wow, the food! We came here just before lunch on a Sunday and although there was no wait, inside was full. We had the corn beef hash and eggs plate. No out of can corn beef on this place - it was real deal, soft and seasoned. It went well with the fluffy scramble eggs (you had a choice of how you wanted them). Also had the eggs Benedict florentine served on 2 English muffin with tomato and spinach. The eggs were perfectly runny. Not swimming in hollandaise sauce-just enough to cover each one. If you like your hollandaise sauce, you may find it lacking. Both plates came with a choice of toast, fruit, hash browns. I chose the fruit- blueberries, pineapple, melon, strawberries and a slice of orange. Nice and sweet. Son got the chicken fried steak. He's a big fan of chicken fried steak and gets it everywhere he goes. He pronounced it to ge one of the best. He said the meat was soft and the gravy light and not too salty. The 4 year old had the kids waffle plate with a slice of crispy thick bacon, a egg and 1/2 a waffle. Actually it would be perfect for those with a lighter appetite. There's a whole section for that. The menu also had wraps, burgers, omelettes, fish and chips. Something for whatever you felt like eating. The staff was very nice and checked on us from time to time. Great food and staff. Been here a few times and have enjoyed it every visit. Selection is large (but not too large) so easy to find something for everybody and of the several things that we have tried i can say they were all excellent. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait and parking lot fills up quickly during busy times but it is worth driving out of Astoria or Seaside to eat at this breakfast and lunch spot. read more

A formerly great local place that lost its way. Food is good, but too expensive for the vast majority of the people in its community to eat at regularly. $3.50 for a cup of coffee? Can't do it. Won't do it. Yes, food costs have rise, but they have taken advantage to an extreme. Breakfast is most of their business, but it's also the meal with the highest profit margin, so to charge what they do for it is taking advantage of the local population. The service is good and the waitress are very pleasant. (Notice that entire front of the house is young female. I've Never seen a male working anywhere but the kitchen.) So I'd still go there, but maybe once a month or less instead of every week. On the plus side, the line to get in is much shorter now. ‍ read more

Looks like another building in an industrial area but inside is the classic diner like experience with a pastry/coffee counter and a bar to sit at and watch the food cone up in the window. Its a great atmosphere and the food was amazing. Their hashbrows were so crispy - they were a bit oily though but they totally the foundation for a great meal. Biscuits and gravy were solid. Id pass on the chicken fried steal though as it was pretty tough and there were sp many other good things on the menu. read more
