Beers from the brewery there

We were just visiting the area so we were only able to come here once. We'd go here often if we lived nearby. My son is allergic to wheat so this place was such a special treat! Their gluten free fish and chips were fantastic! Whether you're gluten free or not, this was some of the best fish and chips we've had and we love fish + chips. They used rockfish and we felt the pricing was incredibly reasonable. We also got the oyster shooters. This will be our first food stop on our next visit! We can't wait to try their pasta!!

Made fresh and very generous portions. Patio is dog friendly. I personally don't love the heavy more beer batter style. Felt overly greasy. Always compare any fish and chips to bowpicker. This was solid but not for me.

The ingredients on the sandwiches were very fresh. I could have used a little more sauce on mine. However, the potatoe salad was the star of the show. Definitely tangy and i loved the pickles in it. Very popular since most of the onsite seating were occupied (6/20/25). No surprise after glancing at their menu, easily I could gravitate towards several of their sandwiches. Lots of merch and deli items are also available to select from. I ended up ordering a half pound of proscuitto (0.52 lb for $17.67). This was carefully sliced thin, packaged, and wrapped carefully, which was duly noted and greatly appreciated. We paused at window counter seats and had to sample the purchase before departing. Absolutely delicious! Helped elevate a meal the next day too. I may have to return to indulge in one of their Italian sandwiches. Update: we did return to dine onsite at the same window counter seats (6/22/25). The Homie had the Hot Meatball ($14). Meaty with zesty sauce. I had the Salami Panini ($12), which reminded me of a fave Italian panini at Irwin's Bakery & Cafe in Seattle. Both were fantastic, hit the spot, clean plate club worthy, and definitely no takeout boxes needed! Gaetano's Market & Deli, a terrific find in Astoria!

We were seated in a sort of private back room, which was amazing. We didn't have reservations, but just got lucky because it was early. We ordered some appetizers and drinks. The classic antipasto and Piadina(I think) bread. Both were delicious. When deciding on the main courses, I ordered the cioppino. Extraordinary. Two of my friends ordered the crab pesto dish, which was just as amazing. Tiramisu for dessert finished the meal off strong. All I can say is the service and food was exceptional. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with this establishment. If I'm ever in Astoria again. I will definitely come back multiple more times to see if I can find anything wrong. Five stars all the way!

My fiancé and I had gone out to celebrate our pregnancy and some good news we had just received about our baby. We were excited to have a nice meal together and celebrate such a special moment, so it was extremely disappointing for our experience to start the way it did. A young red-haired woman was serving us. While we were waiting to be seated, she approached us and asked, "Have you been helped?" I politely answered no. She immediately rolled her eyes and responded, "What can I help you with?!" in a noticeably irritated and annoyed tone. I looked over at my fiancé, and he told her we needed a table for two. From there, the attitude continued. As she seated us, she was rolling her eyes and making faces, which made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. When my fiancé asked for a straw, she gave a very forced smile, looked visibly annoyed, and said yes. When she returned, she shoved the straws into our drinks rather than simply handing them to us. At that point, we decided to leave. We weren't going to spend a special evening celebrating our baby somewhere that made us feel unwelcome from the moment we walked through the door. When the service starts off this poorly before you've even had the opportunity to order, it gives you a pretty clear idea of the experience you're likely going to have. We came in happy, excited, and simply wanting to enjoy a meal together while celebrating good news about our baby. Instead, we left because of how uncomfortable the interaction made us feel. Afterward, I read through other reviews and noticed other customers have also mentioned negative experiences with service, which made our experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, based on how we were treated from the moment we walked in, I would not recommend this place. Basic courtesy and making customers feel welcome should be the bare minimum, especially when they're choosing to spend their time and money at your establishment.

Found Fort George right down the street from our hotel and they had a black bean burger on the menu (whooo!) Headed over for a late lunch/early dinner at 3 pm. You can choose from the wood fired pizza section upstairs (I believe they take reservations) or the pub downstairs (first come first serve) which has a few indoor tables, some semi-outdoor tables that are well covered with a roof and glass sides, or a fully outdoor beer garden with covered and un-covered picnic tables. You order at the counter and then pick your table, they'll drop off the food to you. We opted for the black bean veggie burger which came with pepper jack cheese, guac, some Aioli, and a side of fries. It was very good and exactly what we were craving. They did have a vegan chicken sandwich that looked good but instead I went with a side salad with poppy seed dressing. The salad was fresh and so delicious and the dressing was perfection! Also did a side of hummus and veggies. The hummus wasn't fresh/home made, rather it was from a local place (I believe) and was pretty good. We didn't have their beer but they did have a large selection with varying ABVs and types (the fresh hop IPAs looked extra good); however we didn't see any non-alcoholic options when we looked. We had the ice tea which was fine as well as a Lüp, which was a sparkling hop water, it was pretty good. They also have a gift shop with shirts, hats, beers, and more. They had four (!!!) different types of aged barleywines - we regret not getting some to bring back home. Everyone working was also welcoming, friendly, and helpful when I had a few questions about the menu. Would recommend and we'll come back the next time we're in town !

They have 2 floors, a bar on each floor, an outdoor courtyard area, and a barn area in the back with two bars and a stage. We caught a live show and thoroughly enjoyed it before driving back home to Seattle. We also hung out in the courtyard, enjoying the large caged wood fireplace, before heading to the barn for the live show. The service was excellent, maybe because they weren't too busy that day, and we entered upstairs, not downstairs, since street parking wraps around the building and, depending on where you park, you'll enter at different parts of the brewery/restaurant/warehouse. We were seated right away and got seats near the windows to enjoy the sunset. We ordered: Shrimpy Bread-this was tasty, but the teeny tiny frozen shrimp they use were not it. I'm thinking even normal-sized shrimp chopped up really small would have been tastier, but also, if you live for that shrimp flavor, this will be your jam. For me, the lemon flavor stood out, and combined with the cheese, it made it so worth it. Yum. Wood-fired pizza-half almighty and half carousel - this was omg, chef's kiss, perfect to share between the two of us. If we lived in Astoria, we could see ourselves coming in for this combo to take home. Really liked the decor. It felt very brew house, with wood throughout and lots of windows for ocean and neighborhood views from up on the hill. Also noticed folks from all walks of life here, families, couples, tourists, locals. It was a nice, casual vibe. We'll be back next time we're in the area :)

I have many benchmarks for what I consider to be "the best restaurant" around here. Community. Great ambiance with a friendly, easy, warm and welcoming vibe. Delicious and thoughtfully prepared, uncomplicated food. Yes, any good cook can throw together blitzed artichoke hearts and slap a thin slice of mortadella on top and call it an appetizer. I can do that. But I want to order that exact appetizer at Fede, along with the preserved tomato and ricotta crostini, and I want that perfect-ass arugula salad with heavy shards of Parmesan and the lemony vinaigrette, without having to do the heavy lifting/rinsing/prep at home. I want the warm welcome from the staff. I love the river view while I'm sipping a Negroni. I love Faith, the down-to-earth owner. I love that this place is so busy in a small coastal town, that you need to put your name on a list to wait for a table. I love that malfalde dish, rife with pecorino and black pepper tangled up in scraggly pasta shreds. I love that everyone loves that they have deviled eggs as an appetizer. I love that I have a good friend whom when she's dining at Fede, and when she sees someone she knows, she sends the much-coveted deviled eggs to their table as a joke/you're welcome gag. Fede, you're wonderful. Thanks for being here.

The staff welcomed us warmly and we saw the others were likewise attired. The restaurant itself has stunning views of the water and bridge; well-spaced tables in an airy windowed setting; and a large fireplace to enjoy warming up next to after being out in the fog. The food was superb. If they have their duck on the menu when you go, do not miss out on the duck! I cannot stress how absolutely phenomenal the perfectly crisped skin and spot-on cook on the meat was. The perfectly creamy chowder was rich with seafood. The salmon was delicately handled and flavorful throughout. Do not miss stopping here. I know on our next PNW trip, we will definitely return.
