Just happened in this shop- saw Christmas stuff and was enticed by the half door. So glad we went in. They have THE BEST candles. I just know they have to get tired of people smelling them saying "oh my God, it really does smell like....." - but you smell them and can't help yourself! Staff is so nice, something for every price point, not just Christmas stuff but EVERYTHING you didn't know you needed in your life.

If you get to Seaside you absolutely need to stop in at Tipton's. This is a special home decor, gift and chocolate shop. They stock many unique seasonal and holiday items and scents that you just don't see anywhere else. This is a family business owned by George and Marcia Tipton. Their son Noah was working when I was there this time and he was polite, friendly and had great customer service. Noah is now the website and store manager. Tipton's is a perfect example how perfect a small business can be ran. Warning: Once you enter you will not want to leave. The environment, smells and music make you feel right at home. When I entered I was greeted immediately by Noah and asked if I would like cup of coffee while I shopped. How nice! So I grabbed a cup of joe and shopped. Right now this store is chuck full of Thanksgiving and Christmas treasures. Table settings, ornaments, candles, lamps, linens, music, chocolates and so on. There is so much to look at here that you could walk through the store 10 times and still not see everything. Walls, ceiling and floor is covered with treasures. This is where I buy all my candles because they have the best. Soy candles are also available. Tipton's was originally primarily a chocolate shop. And speaking of chocolates, they are out of this world! They have since dropped chocolates from their name I noticed and just go by Tipton's since they are so much more. So on your next trip to the Seaside check them out. Enjoy! :-) 2015-110

I make it a point to visit here very time I go to Seaside, I love this place. How can I not? It's Christmas year 'round! The owner is an absolute gem and has been kind to me every time. What I love most are the soaps; there's a wonderful selection of nice-smelling soaps that make great gifts. I bought the scent Spruce, which is difficult to find elsewhere during normal times because it's a seasonal scent. They also carry fun types of light strings and bulbs -flaming ones, fairy lights, you name it! And the ornaments -so many ornaments, of different themes, even those for Hanukkah. I can only hope that this place stays open once I make enough money to buy up the whole store. Until then, I will try to support them in any way I can. It's evident they take a lot of care in curating the collection and organizing the store.

My husband found me this treasure at Tiptons.

You walk into a storybook when you walk into Tiptons. The shoppe carries a cornucopia of Christmas decor (all year), ornate decorations, tablecloths, lamps, sweet treats and candles. The cost is reasonable considering that a good amount of their products are handmade. The warm welcoming ambience alone is worth the visit.

Wonderful shop to wonder through their display of Christmas decor. They have an ornament for any theme.

Great home interior things!

This shop doesn't have much of--or honestly, any that I could find--online presence, which seems odd but hopefully this will help spread the word. They have a lot of soaps--a significant amount of space in the store is dedicated to their French soap bar. Bar or liquid soap in a dizzying amount of scents. There are candles from the same brand. They have housewares, like decorate items, storage vessels, placemats, and so on. There is artwork for sale--just look up so you don't miss it! They have cards, and books... and then other little nicknacks hidden around the store as well. I bought as a gift for a friend a sand dollar from a fairly local artist, who with her niece decorates sand dollars they've collected on their trips to the beach. It's worth noting that the store is not accessible, as there's a step up and so folks in wheelchairs won't be able to enter. The employee (owner?) was friendly. Not a lot of parking right near the store (perhaps a bit on the street) but there's a public lot a couple blocks away, since this is the main shopping and tourist area in Seaside.

Shorelines NW manages to be a touristy shop while providing a much better customer experience. The store is very large and well lit, the aisles are wide so you can wander and linger without feeling like you are stuck in an elevator with tons of people. Items are organized so if you aren't interested in children's toys you don't even have to walk to that area of the store. Interested in shells? Against the side wall are bins filled with shells of various shapes, types and colors. There is plenty of room to take it all in and make your selections. My grandmother always collected small shells and made jewelry with them so I spent a lot of time in this area and was happy to have the section all to myself! Of course they have the obligatory tie-dye which somehow has become synonymous with the beach, but their offerings were a step above other tie dye sweatshirts I've seen. The light blue & white was particularly nice, subtle, not too in your face. Mermaids and the beach also go hand & hand and at Shoreline, there are Mermaids of every skin tone and hair color so little girls can see themselves. Well done! They have a nice selection of affordable fashion jewelry, some in sterling, and of course many feature shells, sand dollars, flip-flops and other beachy items. Even though I'm not a tourist, I enjoy walking through the shop and looking at all of the offerings, often making a purchase.

Some of the items look like they've been there for some time untucked. Other items were in short supply. I went in for post cards and got a reasonable deal for 10 cards for $5. I was also looking for a cheap pair of socks since the tide decided to try to put my shoes out of commission. I did find it quite hard to navigate the store as there were people in the store with strollers and there really is only one "up" and one "down" lane and both were blocked with strollers. They probably wouldn't need CCTV over the entire store if the owner could just have easy visibility down the aisles but there are rotating racks and wind chimes and baskets and shelves high and low so you find yourself bending down to avoid getting hit in the head with the items dangling from the ceiling or turning sideways to avoid your T, B, or A hitting a rack and spinning off all the magnets or bottle openers onto the floor. The store is whimsical and you may find some oddities that make you think why would someone need this, but like I said, there's something in here from practically anyone or at least something to take a funny insta/fbook/snap/social media pic with. One problem I had is that there are several other tourist gift shops on the strip and the prices here were quite higher than the other shops so make sure you shop around.

The building has been here a long time, so it looks a little old fashioned and maybe a bit run down from the outside so it looks like it could be miss. There's a store or two that have some great sweatshirts and other souvenir items, though it really does have a vast selection of clothing. Another store has some clothing as well, and toys and goodies. There's one store that's truly a toy store. And there's an arcade in there, I think. But the carousel! It's huge and beautiful and cool. All but a couple of the animals move and there's a bench or two for those who aren't about the bobbing animals. My daughter had never been on a carousel before and she loved it. As soon as the carousel stopped she started saying and signing "more" so we immediately went on another spin on the merry go round. She later went on it again with my sister.
