Super rude people. I don't recommend shopping here at all. Younger woman ruined my trip.

This shop doesn't have much of--or honestly, any that I could find--online presence, which seems odd but hopefully this will help spread the word. They have a lot of soaps--a significant amount of space in the store is dedicated to their French soap bar. Bar or liquid soap in a dizzying amount of scents. There are candles from the same brand. They have housewares, like decorate items, storage vessels, placemats, and so on. There is artwork for sale--just look up so you don't miss it! They have cards, and books... and then other little nicknacks hidden around the store as well. I bought as a gift for a friend a sand dollar from a fairly local artist, who with her niece decorates sand dollars they've collected on their trips to the beach. It's worth noting that the store is not accessible, as there's a step up and so folks in wheelchairs won't be able to enter. The employee (owner?) was friendly. Not a lot of parking right near the store (perhaps a bit on the street) but there's a public lot a couple blocks away, since this is the main shopping and tourist area in Seaside.

This Exquisite store sells lovely gifts and merchandise. Soaps, lotions, candles, stationary, etc…read more Items to live a more genteel life. I look forward every beach trip to Seaside so I can treat myself to something pretty. The purveyor is delightful and so knowledgeable about the items and can help you choose something perfect for yourself or someone else. Don't forget to say hi to their new family member- an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ozzy who loves people!

Shorelines NW manages to be a touristy shop while providing a much better customer experience. The store is very large and well lit, the aisles are wide so you can wander and linger without feeling like you are stuck in an elevator with tons of people. Items are organized so if you aren't interested in children's toys you don't even have to walk to that area of the store. Interested in shells? Against the side wall are bins filled with shells of various shapes, types and colors. There is plenty of room to take it all in and make your selections. My grandmother always collected small shells and made jewelry with them so I spent a lot of time in this area and was happy to have the section all to myself! Of course they have the obligatory tie-dye which somehow has become synonymous with the beach, but their offerings were a step above other tie dye sweatshirts I've seen. The light blue & white was particularly nice, subtle, not too in your face. Mermaids and the beach also go hand & hand and at Shoreline, there are Mermaids of every skin tone and hair color so little girls can see themselves. Well done! They have a nice selection of affordable fashion jewelry, some in sterling, and of course many feature shells, sand dollars, flip-flops and other beachy items. Even though I'm not a tourist, I enjoy walking through the shop and looking at all of the offerings, often making a purchase.

The building has been here a long time, so it looks a little old fashioned and maybe a bit run down from the outside so it looks like it could be miss. There's a store or two that have some great sweatshirts and other souvenir items, though it really does have a vast selection of clothing. Another store has some clothing as well, and toys and goodies. There's one store that's truly a toy store. And there's an arcade in there, I think. But the carousel! It's huge and beautiful and cool. All but a couple of the animals move and there's a bench or two for those who aren't about the bobbing animals. My daughter had never been on a carousel before and she loved it. As soon as the carousel stopped she started saying and signing "more" so we immediately went on another spin on the merry go round. She later went on it again with my sister. The cost for the carousel is $5 per ride as of July 2025.

The collection of…read morekitschy souvenir shops, the Carousel itself, and a Chinese restaurant that I've somehow, in my 40+ years of coming to this town, never eaten at (yet! I keep telling myself I'm going to do it) still makes me smile, even if just browsing. As a beach town, you'll find lots of shells, gems and precious stones, candies, candles, jewelry, toys, games, silly hats, clothing, apparel, and other things you could definitely live without, but somehow, you really, REALLY want to buy them, because you're on vacation. It's okay, live a little! Get yourself some egg foo young, ride a wooden horse, buy a ridiculous hat, and make a mad dash for the beach!
