Bruce's Candy Kitchen is such a cute store. The young ladies working there are super nice and helpful. Just know going in, it's not cheap but most of us shopping in there were probably tourists and how often do we get a chance to shop in this type of store. It's in Cannon Beach so I'm sure that makes it a tiny bit more expensive. I did not get any taffy but they had so many different yummy sounding flavors. You also get to watch them make some of it. We spent about $20. I'm a Dots fan so I got some watermelon flavored. Also got some little coconut almond haystacks and some mint cookie malt balls. The haystacks were ok but the malt balls were delicious. Nice minty flavor and the malt ball was nice and fresh and not hard like some I've tried. Nice little place to treat yourself while on vacation or in the area.

We LOVED this candy shop! So cute, and plenty to choose from. They have a window were you can see them making the salt water taffy, and a taffy bar. Lots of stuffed animals and trinkets to purchase. The service was great as well. We didn't have long wait to get checked out. Needless to say I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Cannon Beach, OR.

One of the candy stores in town. We parked t a nearby lot and walked here since we were strolling the town anyway. Cute store. You can see the taffy being made. And right outside the window is freshly made taffy for you to taste. Now usually I'm not really a fan of taffy but freshly made and warm and it was a nicely sweet and tarty lemon flavored taffy I could't resist. Sure enough. I bought a bag of assorted taffy. In the center of the store you can mix and match any flavors of choice. And they've got alot to choose from. Staff was friendly. Gotta check it out.

We have been going to Bruce's since our first trip to the Coast almost 20 + years ago. You won't be disappointed-they have something for everyone. The taffy is a great. My favorite this year is Caramel apple and cranberry but I enjoy all of them. Fresh popcorn, amazing chocolate. We always find fun and unique gifts for our grandkids.

Fun candy shop & super cool that they have a salt water taffy machine in house. The gent working the salt water taffy had a bucket of samples out which was extra SWEET.

Hi there! I haven't had the pleasure of physically attending this store, however I placed an online order last week for sprinkles and they were so quick and prompt with my order! They included a personalized note (Go Hawks!) and the sprinkles are exactly as expected! Thank you so much, from San Diego!

A Cannon Beach landmark for centuries . Almost . It's just normal procedure to visit for candy. You can't get fresher salt water taffy . Made right there . Most , if not all chocolate treats you see behind the counter , are $33 a pound. Obviously inflation has hit . But I believe the candy and the experience are worth it.

    Sour Kicks

I came here when I was visiting Cannon Beach and I bought some salt water taffy, sour kicks, and malt balls. My favorite salt water taffy flavors are watermelon and peanut butter. The sour kicks and malt balls were also great. I enjoyed the blue raspberry sour kicks flavor on top of the chocolatey crunch of the malt balls.

My favorite candy stone when I was a kid. Went back today and just as I remembered. Have cute gifts as well as candy. Friendly and helpful staff. Love their saltwater taffy and homemade chocolates. Very popular place.

Best salt water taffy on Oregon coast. As well as Carmel apples and sea salt chocolates! We always visit at least twice when we are there.

Very good candy. A lot of options. The taffy here is much better than the taffy at the spot down the street

Listen. If you ever find yourself wandering through the salt-kissed mist of Cannon Beach with sand…read morein your shoes and an ache for something sweet in your soul, go ahead and duck into Schwietert's Cones & Candy. It's a sugar-slinging time machine. Shelves groan under the weight of taffy in colors that don't occur in nature and fudge dense enough to warp gravity. I had the ice cream. Two scoops. Marionberry Pie and Mountain Huckleberry. Both from Tillamook, which around here is less a brand and more a benevolent dairy cult. These berries are like edible postcards from the Pacific Northwest. One bite and you're knee-deep in a foggy forest thinking you hear Bigfoot weeping quietly from joy. Of course the prices are high. You're in a town where the beach views are free and everything else makes up for it. The real gamble is who hands you your scoop. Some of us got generous lumps the size of a toddler's fist while others looked like they'd been served a sample. Such is life in a democracy. The lines wound throughout the store, but it moved along at a respectable clip. People were smiling. Sugar does that. All in all, this is the kind of place that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. A temple to nostalgia. A sanctuary for the sweet-toothed and sunburnt. Four stars. One star held in reserve for the day someone figures out how to standardize scoop sizes.

It was a mixture of candy, waffle cones and other goodies. But first we needed to have lunch and I promised we would be back for some ice cream. What's a vacation without a daily scoop of ice cream ESPECIALLY when you are on vacation with your GG? I made good on my promise. We walked in and were met with a display of various fudge, saltwater taffy galor but we were there for some ice cream. Which was located at the back of the store. Displayed in all its yumminess was various flavors of Tillamook ice cream. Granddaughter chose birthday cake. I had jamoca almond fudge and my son had a cherry jubilee. We found seating outside in a courtyard where we enjoyed our ice cream before our big drive home.

And for me, walking straight into Phillips Candies like a man fulfilling a sacred coastal tradition. This place has been around since 1897 and is actually the oldest continually operating business in Seaside, which honestly makes perfect sense the second you walk through the doors. First off, I absolutely love that they carry sugar free chocolates that actually taste good. That alone deserves applause. Then you add in the giant selection of candy, the homemade treats, the popcorn, the chocolate, the old school charm, and suddenly you realize you've been wandering around the store for forty five minutes carrying six pounds of snacks you absolutely did not plan on buying. I am a complete sucker for the white cheddar popcorn and the cheese popcorn. Throw in some Laffy Taffy and now we're talking about a full blown Seaside survival kit. Every single trip to the coast, I stop here and "accidentally" leave with enough candy to supply a small movie theater. The store itself is beautiful too. Bright, nostalgic, cozy, and full of that classic beach town energy that makes you happy just being there. It sits right near all the fun downtown, close to the arcade action and the heart of Seaside, so stopping in feels like part of the experience. The customer service is always fantastic, warm, welcoming, and patient with people like me who spend fifteen minutes debating popcorn flavors like it's a life decision. And somehow, even with the quality, it still feels like you get a good deal. Chocolates, candies, caramel corn, saltwater taffy, coffee drinks, sweet treats everywhere you look. No trip to the Oregon Coast feels complete without walking out of this place carrying a bag that's way heavier than you intended. Five stars all day long.
