Suikyaki with veggies and beef

Great service, great food, and great deal ‼ 13.99 for hot pot and a drink from t pumps. Unlimited rice too. The chef came out and gave us free appetizers (radish bun and chicken gyoza) and halo halo shave ice for slight inconveniences. The people working for so nice and attentive. I highly recommend this place to anyone! Shoutout to chef ALEX!!

Had been recommended this place a few times with a few other friends and finally decided to try it out with the chilly weather. It's located right next to Tpumps with lots of parking available. Upon walking in, there were quite a bit of people waiting in line to be seated. We didn't know that you're supposed to order first and then be seated until one other customer who had been waiting told us. We did wait about 10 minutes until a worker came out to help the party in front of us. My party was seated pretty quickly after ordering. You can order one or mix 2 broths, then you chose the base toppings, one protein, and then a complimentary tpumps drink. You could even upgrade the tea to a larger size and change the flavor. I opted to order for the 2 broths- Kimchi and Satay with the 8 dumplings + glass noodles, beef protein, and the blackberry tea. It didn't take long to get our food and we were given complimentary baos and dumplings. My soup base was so flavorful with the perfect kimchi taste paired with the spiced satay base. I loved it! The glass noodles were delicious with the broth, but next time I would opt for extra noodles. Rice is also complimentary and you can ask for them to bring more. I really enjoyed the hot pot for the price! When we were done, they even gave us little shaved ices to have. The service was amazing, super friendly and accommodating, and for the price you could not beat it. Definitely recommend!

Semi casual eatery that features very approachable hot pot. What I mean by that is that there are menu items designed per person and there are plenty of combinations of flavors that are already available to choose from. Sometimes when I go to hot pot, I'm not sure how much I should put into the broth of different ingredients, etc. and I find myself fumbling with some of the other items available to put into the broth. This place just makes it a lot easier for novices like me. Also, the portion is great relative to the price and most importantly the meal is delicious. It feels family owned and operated as well and the people here are very friendly. You can mix and match up to two different broths as well and if I remember correctly, I think did the miso and kimchi. It also comes with a couple sides. I would say my only gripe is that they seem to have most if not all other California university pendants on their wall, except for the University of Southern California. Lol.

Came to this plaza for the massage... found this gem just next door. Very clean and good ambiance. Service was amazing! You pre order your hot pot package by the register before sitting down. Prices are very reasonable and I love how the AC was blasting on a hot day. The hot pot was just perfect! Perfect flavor, perfect portion and just the right amount of spice on mine. I doubled up on the beef and lamb too. So worth it! Kids loved it and finished the whole pot. Turned out much better than the AYCE hot pot locations we usually go to. They also give a free drink with our hot pot package. To make things even more amazing... they have shaved ice!!!! Everything was perfect! Clean, tasty and excellent service. We will be back and I recommend it

Hidden gem alert in Upland!! My husband and I tried hot pot for the very first time, and let me tell you... we were completely confused at first! Thankfully, the staff was beyond incredible. To make our first visit even more special, they surprised us with complimentary appetizer samples and shaved ice! (Both were delicious) Such a thoughtful touch that made us feel so welcomed. We ordered the miso broth with beef, dumplings, and tons of fresh veggies, plus a green tea to go with it and WOW! Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and so comforting. I'm already planning my next visit because I have to try the spicy broth! As if the amazing food wasn't enough, they even had the World Cup playing, which made the atmosphere even more fun! From the welcoming vibes to the outstanding staff and amazing food, everything was a perfect 10/10. If you haven't checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and go! This is truly one of Upland's hidden gems, and we'll definitely be back again and again! I wish I could give more stars!

Wow, the best service I had in a while! The service was great from start to finish! Sweet fires had been on my list to try so for one of our date night we decided to come here! You pay and pick before you sit down. Sweet Fire's has a hot pot and drink combo! You pick your soup base, toppings, protein, and lastly a drink. I picked the macadamia milk tea and it was absolutely delicious. The pot is smaller than other pot I have been to but still packed with flavors. They give you a small bowl of rice but I believe you can ask for more. I would add noodles or additional meats for a bigger meal but the portion was just right for me. The only thing I didn't like was that the pot didn't stay hot the whole time and wish the veggies were cooked longer. I like my veggies not as hard. They did give us samples of their appetizers and shaved ice which were super yummy. Overall, for the price, you can't beat this hot pot and drink combo! Come check them out!

My friend found this gem back in September to celebrate his belated birthday. When we entered, we were immediately greeted with a sample of their green tea that was really refreshing from the heat outside. Throughout the entire interaction, staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. The sweetest gesture was bringing out a singing bear plushie , I think that was the happiest and surprised he looked (hehe) Fast forward to a second visit with another friend, service was still SO exceptional. My friends and I really agreed we never have had such a nice experience anywhere else! What makes this place even better is the food and options to customize (staff even offer to change something if you don't like it). Highly recommend this place for its cozy feeling, outstanding staff, and truly hitting all the marks for a hot pot craving AND shaved ice!!

The customer service is amazing here with the food and the atmosphere is so calming but collected and sweet! The workers definitely know what they're doing and the food is amazing while having great deals and prices! Came here with my wife expecting only tea but got even better service and food with tea included! I'll be back!

Inside the bao bun. Not sure but I think it was vegetables inside. Soft and fluffy with a nice crunchy bottom.

Customer Service is top tier! Saja and the other lady were very accommodating, patient, and kind. The place is cute, there's a TV on the wall running loops of food and customer photos. Plenty of seating, Place your order at the register and then wait to be seated. Upon being shown to my table, they serve appetizers consisting of a vegetable Bao Bun and a Chicken Dumpling with sesame and sweet chili sauce for dipping. The dumpling had a good crunch on the bottom but the top portion of the dumpling wrapper was really hard and waxy/plastic tasting. Hard to explain, but basically they tasted like they were probably fried hours ago and kept under a heat lamp. Score: 6/10 The bun was delicious. Not sure if it was vegetables inside, but nothing noticeable. The bun was so soft and fluffy, I really liked it. Score: 8/10 On the table they provide you with 3 sauces for dipping your hotpot ingredients into--which included a sour garlic sauce, a garlic chili sauce, and a soy vinegar sauce. Wish they offered green onions, but nevertheless, mixing all three together turned out to be a very flavorful sauce. I ordered the Mala and Satay combination broth with chicken and cabbage dumplings and choice of glass noodles. My protein was beef. My hotpot was so delicious. The combo of mala and satay broths were fire and I would order it again except with less mala broth and more satay broth, and also probably add veggies. Beware that mala broth is very spicy. I was picking out pieces of red chili for days cuz I didn't want to take the chance on biting down on one of them. The beef was superb. It was sliced thinly and it just melted in my mouth. Score: 9/10 I really enjoyed the glass noodles in the soup. I'm used to ramen noodles and this was a nice change. The texture of the noodles were perfectly chewy. Since I had so much broth leftover I ordered more glass noodles to go and they were also so nice to give me a full container of satay broth on the house to take home, so that I could try to cool down the spiciness a little. For my drink I chose the caramel cinnamon milk tea. The milk teas are made with nondairy creamer which was perfect for my lactose intolerant self. It was very tasty and perfectly sweet. A little honey boba added would have set it over the top. Score: 7.5/10 What I really like about this hotpot spot is that everything is customizable from the soup broth, the noodles, the meats and veggies. They have a Vegetable Hotpot for the vegetarians. What I love most is that I can get a small app, a choice of drink, and an entree all for about $15-$16 dollars.

Unexpectedly delicious. For $12.99 with a free tea or $3 to upgrade your tea! You get 1 free dumpling in your soup but you can add more (unless you choose the dumplings topping option). Service was great, they explained how to order and came around to offer more rice. Love that it is local and very affordable for the high schoolers as well.

This is an extension of Tpumps but they specialize in hot pot. Similar to the concept of boiling point, they offer a variety of soup bases like miso, satay, etc. you can also upgrade your drinks with a Tpumps drink as well. The pots come with a side of rice. The service is always so friendly here. They often bring out some complementary appetizers as well for you to try. You pick your food at the front and pay then get seated and the food comes out pretty quick. I personally always go for the satay beef option. It's flavorful and comes with an assortment of vegetables, meatballs, fish cakes, beef, etc.

One of the best place fo have lunch at! The hotpot and service at Sweet Fires is in its name - Fire !!!! Diem was super professional and she knows how to tend to people's needs. The other staffs were also always asking if they can do anything for you (free refill on rice btw). Pretty spacious and chill! Board games after food with friends is also fun!

Kathrina R.

This was an INCREDIBLE meal! Massive portions, delicious hotpot, and so many options. From vegetarian, pescatarian, or beef broths (with so many flavor profiles to choose from) to all of the add-ins, we were so blown away by this local gem. And, the prices were so reasonable. Diem made great recommendations and treated us to some wonderful appetizers and we cannot wait to be back!!

There was also a fresh fruit bar and a small selection of desserts, and the meal even came with a complimentary personal cup of ice cream. The restaurant is large, filled with plenty of tables, and very clean--everything feels brand new. While the Latina hostess wearing black spandex pants couldn't manage a smile even though we mentioned we were first-time visitors, the Asian servers were wonderfully kind. To the business owner - Thank you for the delicious meal and the thoughtful ways to elevate our ramen.

Unfortunately, our family's experience was a huge disappointment. The restaurant was nearly empty, with plenty of open tables, yet we were asked to wait 25 minutes. It was already close to 8 PM! After finally being seated, we found that the dishes and bowls were not even ready because the staff was still washing them. We paid nearly $46 per person for the premium dining option, expecting fresh seafood and good-quality food. However, the seafood didn't seem fresh, and the shrimp and squid appeared to be in poor condition. The promotional video showed a variety of seafood, including oysters and mussels, but I didn't see those items being served during our visit. The Wagyu beef took far too long to arrive every time we ordered it, and the soup broth tasted like plain water with almost no flavor. Even the kids' food was disappointing. The French fries were so underwhelming that I could make better ones at home! For $46 per person, I expected much better food quality and service. Between the long wait, unprepared dishes, slow service, disappointing food, and questionable seafood freshness, this experience was absolutely not worth the money. The promotional video created high expectations, but the actual experience was the complete opposite. Our family will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant at this price.

I ordered extra spicy, but unfortunately it wasn't spicy at all by my standards... probably not even a 2/10. I asked for additional chili afterward, but it still didn't add much heat or flavor to the broth. The pricing also feels a little high compared to similar spots. Here it's $17.59/lb with a 1.2 lb minimum, while places like YGF are around $13.99/lb with a 1 lb minimum. Rice and unlimited drinks are included though, which helps justify some of the difference, but personally I don't really drink sweet drinks, so that perk didn't add much value for me. They also offer regular mini hot pots if you don't want to build your own, which is a nice option. The beef hot pot was previously my go to but meat was too little. Overall, the concept is good, but the broth flavor and spice level could definitely be improved, especially for something labeled extra spicy. That said, if you're in Ontario and don't want to drive far for malatang, it's still a convenient local option.

They weigh your bowl of stuff (veggies, meat, seafood, noodles, etc) and it's $15.99 per pound. If you don't pace yourself, it's very easy to end up with an expensive bowl of hot pot. Mines ended up weighting a little over 1.5 lbs, so my hot pot was over $25 before taxes. Some broths also have an additional charge (like the tonkotsu is $4.95 extra), so keep that in mind. I picked the organic miso broth, which had no extra charge. My hot pot was pretty yummy since I got to choose exactly what I wanted in it and even though I ordered a little too much, I enjoyed it the next day for lunch. The sauce bar is included and they offer iced green tea with refills for $1.99 more. If you need a refill of the iced tea, you can let them know and they'll refill your cup. Very refreshing! Even though we paid separately, they do charge 18% big party service charge for groups of 5 or more. Parking was plentiful and easy in the plaza.

Definitely a hole in a wall!…read more Came here with my fiancé and future father-in-law (FFIL) because we decided to have dinner to late to go to our other vegetarian restaurant. And after a quick search on Yelp we came across Solo Hot Pot! We're all vegetarian AND we can't have onion or garlic. So that means our choices are limited.. BUT! After a quick call here we found out that they have 11 vegetarian broths AND neither of them contain onion or garlic! SCORE! I also have been wanting hot pot for the longest and my fiancé doesn't normally care for it but with my FFIL in my corner (he loves it too!) We decided to come here because it closes late as well! We came here around 8ish and it's in this dark parking lot that seemed so out of place.. But as we parked you see Solo Hot Pot just glowing.. Because all the other shops are closed LOL but we make our way in and it was much smaller than I thought! When you come in, to your left side you see a bowl as well as tongs to start grabbing what you want in your hot pot. It's just one long section (veggies in towards the entrance and meats towards the end) and after a close look I see that the veggies are frozen.. hm hm hm, I see you Solo Hot Pot, freezing them makes them a bit heavier when you go weigh it! (Cost is $15.99/lb) So I had to be strategic because 1. I don't want to build an expensive pot and 2. I couldn't eat as much as I have before so I need to get just enough to fill me without over doing it. You also have a variety of other stuff like udon noodles, ramens, ramen egg (UGH SO GOOD!) and other things too! We all chose our ingredients and made our way to the front and choose our soups: DISCLOSURE: If you CANNOT DO SPICY make sure you let them know in ADVANCE as you choose your broth! A lot of these soups are SPICY and my fiancé and FFIL learned the hard way because they can't eat spicy (unlike me LOL) but the nice thing is you do get unlimited soup refills (Not broths, just soup base) and tea refills if you buy their iced tea! Super nice! there's even a sauce station and you can add on rice for 1.99/bowl. I had to convince my fiancé to get some so he wasn't dying from the spice. Very interesting but you pay at the end of the meal even though you weigh everything beforehand. My fiancé doesn't normally care or like hot pot but he actually liked this place! So yay! We'll be coming back but making sure we don't have their pots to spicy LOL
